Original Movie: The Incredibles 2
Did you guys think it was a good sequel?
I thought it was great but a little too predictable! What do you think?🤔
I thought it was fun! Predictable, yes.. but I enjoyed the watch!
Loved it! Almost as good as the first movie and visually it looked way better. Both the Incresibles movies are top tier Pixar.
I thought it was an absolutely unnecessary sequal and tainted the brilliance of the first one.
Some of the scenes are great (like Jack Jack and the Raccoon) and would have made wonderful shorts, the animation was gorgeous, I want to live in that mid century house they were given to stay in, but the plot overall was bland, predictable and the character development from the first was almost completely undone. As a huge fan of the first, I was really dissapointed that they didn't say no to a sequal.
There's a funny short of Edna and Jack Jack
Yeah Screenslaver has basicly the Same motive as Syndrone. Comic book/Super heroes and villiens are much wider in motives.
The style is called retrofuturism, and yeah, there's quite a bit of it in The Incredibles, though they don't go overboard with chrome, and fins, and whatnot.
its called WOKE mind Virus.
Good to know.
Yep, it's the view of the future from the 1950s perspective. You saw a lot of that style in Disney's Tomorrowland back in the late 70s and 80s. :)
The Incredibles (and later Bioshock) is what created my obsession with retrofuturism and stuff like Decopunk and Atompunk
My favorite work like that is My Life as a Teenage Robot
While Bob Odenkirk does play Wilson, i dont know if you caught it but the agent Rick is played by Johnathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut)
Rest in peace
@@GiRR007 RIP who? Jonathan Banks?
@@jamesrein648 no nothing

Thought someone died who didn't
@@GiRR007 oh ok after reading that I had a WTF moment
@@jamesrein648 I got Mandelaed
I think you missed a point when Jack Jack was watching tv. He saw some burglars with blk masks at the same time he 1st saw the racoon. Thus associating racoon in garbage as a bad guy. 🙂
Yeah, it seemed like she missed that association.
Right?😂
I'm just letting Pixar know, if they make Incredibles 3 and Tony does not get to finish his date with Violet, I'm going to be very, very upset.
I could see it being set a few years after Incredibles 2. Violet and Tony have been dating for some time now and despite running off every now and again, he isn't too worried about Violet. I feel like the story will center around Violet and Dash figuring out what they want to do with life and choosing a path that's theirs.
Nah , they will probably make him gay!
Just disney things 😂
@@harshmann510why would they? It’s already established in the story that Tony likes her back, it would just be a dumb move if Disney did that… but really, Disney has been doing some dumb things lately
LGBT+, minories and Femalenazis will ruined as they did to Disney already...😒😒😒
Kid Jack Jack would be a menace to all the villains! Can imagine how powerful he will become when reach adulthood.
The Underminer: *Has giant Vacuum*
VKunia: That sucks!
Literally
Yeah! I Caught that too, BUT SHE Didn't! She's Really Quick on the Observations but Missed that one! She's Only HUMAN, so.....
I think there’s an important distinction too between having complicated feelings and jealousy come up and taking those out on his wife. We see a lot of Bobs reactions but he clearly is trying to be supportive in spite. No one feels all the perfect things and no one should be expected to, but besides a little initial prickliness at feeling like he wasn’t wanted/yesterday’s news, Bob does a decent job holding it together while actually interfacing with Helen, and holding down the fort generally. Baby with powers seems very new to them and he’s still white knuckling it to not distract Helen.
"OH THAT SUCKS!" literally 2:26
True Violet can turn invisible, but as you just saw not even 3 seconds before you said that she still leaves footprints if she walks in something that tacks under her boots. So there's no point becoming invisible if you are still being tracked.
“Oh that SUCKS!”
Yes, V… yes it does
This was such a awesome sequel!!!
I hope Disney & Pixar does a Part 3 soon!!
@bluejustice1809 Me too and I love The Incredibles!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
17:03 Like the Flash, Dash probably spends a lot of calories from running, so he needs to replenish them.
10:53 In answer to your question... The Outer Limits (1963).
Beat me to it. 😊
32:52 "Oh. She _saved_ her. I thought she'd _killed_ her."
Of _course_ she saved her. It's a _Disney_ movie.
Hey, they killed off Syndrome
V just learned that Bob Odenkirk voiced Winston Deavor, and I just found out Johnathan Banks, another Breaking Bad-Verse alumnus, voiced Rick Dicker.
I don't know if you caught it, but the agent Mr. Incredible talks with on occasion is also voiced by Mike from Breaking Bad!
The Incredibles 3 is set for 2026.
I thought they were referring to math being changed to that God awful Common Core of a few years ago. Since the movie was made in 2o18, which ties together with the New Math of the 197o's, which falls into the retro feel of film, by tying something old into something new.
@2:21 - He's got a big old vacuum
@2:36 - That sucks!
Was that on purpose?
Mr. Incredible saved a train in the first movie and got sued. Elastagirl saved a train and got praised. 14:28
I mean to be fair almost every person on that train got injured when he stopped the train lol
I thought he got sued for saving the suicidal guy, not for stopping the train.
@@greywolf7577 the guy sued first and won, then passengers also sued, then other heroes got sued and the civilians banned heroes.
10:52 the show Dash is washing is a real show called “The Outer Limits” an anthology show from the 60s
Outer Limits which starts every time with "we control the horizontal..."
Invincible has officially scarred vkunia her thinking the boyfriend would die to a car throw 😂😂😂
🤔 What these movies have in common with the Harry Potter franchise, is that the stories don't take place in any specific year, decade or era. They all have a few elements that are exclusive to the 21st century, but still maintain a lot of retro-items that were no long being manufactured by the end of the 20th. I suppose that's merely the best way to go with any story that involves supernatural elements.
Winston Deavor is voiced by Bob Odenkirk but you know him better as Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad. Lol 😂
Common Core math failed for two reasons. One it was unfamiliar to parents. Two it had students thinking about solving math in a variety of ways rather than memorizing one general purpose algorithm. 😂
there is a third one comming pretty soon. not sure but around end of this year
It takes place in the 1960s which is why it's so retro
Evelyn Dever's name is literally Evil Endeavor
The way I think of Bob in this movie is that he IS happy for his wife, he just wishes they could be doing her job together. It has nothing to do with her being the one doing the job. He just doesn’t want to go back to being in a cubicle. If they could work together, he’d be more happy than if he was flying solo.
Fun fact Jack Jack attacking the raccoon was because the raccoon's face looks like burglar's mask and he was just watching a crime show about burglars while Bob was sleeping. So his baby mind thought the raccoon was a bad guy that he needed to attack, like a hero would.
The name of the sister, Evelyn Deaver, was thought by some to be intentionally chosen.
Evelyn Deaver= Evil Endeavor
I'm still waiting for the next sequel that has Dash and Violet being teenagers in high school and Jack Jack experimenting with his powers in elementary school.
One of the best animated sequels ever. If you haven't seen it yet, you should watch Finding Nemo next.
I think the screensavers plan didnt made sense like creating a publuc super villain is exactly the way you would go if you want people to belive that supers are needed therefore I think it was all a plan from the two brothers to make them legal again
2:20 "Oh! That Sucks!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Watched this in theatres with my family, the center of attention was Jack jack💕😭
Okay so Fun Fact: Miss Marvel - in the comics - is pretty much Elastigirl. With a few minor variations on the specifics of her abilities, she's supposed to be another type of Mr Fantastic. But MCU decided that her powers needed something new and different as the test screenings were not at all remotely positive. The CGI looked God-awful apparently. So there were complete reshoots with the complete overhaul of her powers.
The Safari Court is based on the real Safari Inn in Burbank, CA.
Clocked Saul but not Mike?
Glad to hear you already started watching Better Call Saul 😎
"Math" doesn't change, how math is taught changes
The idea is to try to get people to understand and visualize what the math is really doing in real life, but even though this has been tried several times, it only seems to confuse people more.
We had to wait 14 years for this sequel but it was worth it!
The reason elastigirl’s grey suit got ripped is because hypnotized Mr incredible grabbed her as she stretched
Great choice VKunia! Awesome sequel
Why did Mr. Incredible have a problem? Because we guys typically like to be the bread winners for our emotions and don't generally do so well with caring for children by comparison. It doesn't mean we can't do the opposite or that everyone is like that 100%. Just a general direction we go in.
What did they change about math?
I'm so glad you watch this right after Breaking Bad. 😁 It's the little things, like recognizing Bob Odenkirk.
Got this awesome 😎 movie on Blu-ray
One could say Jack-Jack is a Jack of all trades hehe
vkunia, I don't know if you've ever watched avatar: the last airbender, but you should REALLY give it a try. I just know for a fact that you'll love it and I'd like to see your reaction
Thanks!
While these movies are brilliant, I've long held the America of the Incredibles does not deserve heroes. And what amazes me is that villains didn't run rampant while the heroes were forced into retirement.
The only thing I didn't like about this movie was Evelyn as the Villain
predictable? this is aimed at kids not at media savvy adults
13:50 you're over-analyzing the raccoon scene.
Jack Jack saw a man with a a mask steering money. Then he saw the raccoon with mask stealing. So he did what any hero would do when they see a villain.
This has nothing to do with serial killers and all that crap.
It's a proper Disney movie enjoy it for what it is. Fun escapism.
Awesome reaction of my favorite superhero movie!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Jack-Jack is my favorite. ✌️❤️🌹
Yep, it was predictable but so fun I didn't mind it at all.
watch spies in disguise next
Winston is Saul Goodman
What I didn't get was why were we teaching math with a calculator 😅
You go girl💪
man hope disney is working on a third movie also wont mnd a tv series could be fun evelyn in this movie for somereason remind me alots of the women from megamind very simula design
It's worth watching the short animation of when Jack Jack is at Edna's.
The reason Dash eats so much is because he burns more calories than an average person because of his speed. It’s actually a pretty common trope for speedster characters.
Yeah, that's a trope that always bugged me. I mean, most super-powers use a lot of energy. Why are speedsters the only ones who need to eat more to replenish it?
That's not counting solar-powered heroes like Superman and Starfire, of course. Although there was a story in Action Comics #454 in which Superman's body stopped absorbing solar energy and he had to eat constantly to keep his power level up.
Very true.
That would explain Shaggy and Scooby’s appetites as well.
That trope started in the Flash comics several years ago.
Goku lollll but speedster makes more sense
Elastigirl's new suit was the ONLY one that got damaged in the movie, which only shows how superior Edna is in designing suits.
And plus jack jack grown up already
Tony didn’t recognize Violet because Rick Dicker erased Tony’s memory of seeing Violet without her mask and apparently every other memory he had of her.
I think it was a miscommunication issue between Mr Incredible and Rick Dicker. Mr Incredible wanted good, but with the way he worded it he probably didn't realize Rick will delete all of the memories of her.
About "New Math." In 1970, New Math was introduced and a growing snowball of complaints were received, so, it was done away with before the school year ended.. I remember my math teacher collecting up the new math books and handing out the old math books-printed in the 1950's. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
2:27: That's a great visual pun, even though you didn't realize it.
Jack-Jack was watching a show where the bad guys wore masks. The raccoon's eye markings look like a mask, and to a baby, it was "stealing" their trash. He wasn't trying to hurt animals. Jack-Jack was trying to be a hero.
If you sounded out Evelyn's name, you would've guessed she was the mastermind behind the Screenslaver. Evelyn Deaver. Evil Endeavor.
I'd love to see where they take The Incredibles 3.
Oooooh, I did not put 2 and 2 together and realize Jack-Jack thought the raccoon was a robber 😯
Jak jak thought the raccoon was a robber cuz he was watching a cops and robbers show and the raccoon looked like the robber so he attacked it
19:45 In theaters, they forgot to add potential seizure warnings because of this fight scene. A lot of people were not happy at the flashing lights when Elastigirl fought the guy she thought was ScreenSlaver. Those warnings were immediately added since quite a few people during the premiere reported having medical issues.
"The Outer Limits" [the TV show that was playing when Dash approached Bob for help with his homework] was an actual TV show comparable to "The Twilight Zone" that played from 1963 to 1965 - thus giving a hint as to when this movie takes place.
The twilight zone premiered in 1959.
@@liampatrick3110 okay. That doesn't negate the fact Dash is watching The Outer Limits.
I think the retrofuturism in Incredibles is meant to fit with the comics wrote by the time Brad Bird read them.
It was 60-80s style and there was futuristic machines and stuff because it's cool.
I think its à callback to this
2:26 "Oh, that _sucks!"_
Badum, _tsh!_
FWIW, "survival of the fittest" isn't something that Darwin ever said, it was a concept applied to modification with descent long after Darwin's time. Also, "fitness" in that concept isn't about who's strongest or best, it's about being adapted or suited to your surroundings. There are tiny rodents who are the "fittest" to live in desert patches, but it's unlikely that any of them will ever be super heroes.
@M3_Minty so you just don't know the correlation between abusing animals at a young age and serial killers huh?
@@BOT_JERRY that has nothing to do with what I said and it has nothing to do with Darwin. I'm just clearing up misconceptions about a common phrase, I'm not saying it's okay to abuse animals, and if you don't get that you're either a troll or a moron or both. Get over yourself.
Roaches are way more "fit" than humans. :)
It’s called Social Darwinism, and it’s complete B.S.
Thank you for pointing this vital information out.
This is the early 1960s, it's very hard for Bob to accept not being the bread winner for the family because that's the way it was back then. Change was just starting to happen. Heck, Mary Tyler Moore didn't even air on TV until 8 years after this time.
Men are still mostly the breadwinners today. How many stay at home-dads are there compared to their female counterpart?
A113 is a classroom by grafic design and character animation students in California Institute of the Arts
11:30 The expression is retro-modern. Its an older conception of what the future was going to look like.
The dinner table conversation shows that Bob is not just a "superhero junkie" like he was kind of shown in the first movie, which he of course is, but he is also a genuine "good guy".. like Superman or Captain America. In fact the parents have a similar argument as we saw in Captain America Civil War between Steve and Tony.
To make a long story short, Bob would probably be "worthy". :P
So, he is not jealous of her her, he is jealous she gets to do it.. just look at her, a grown woman is acting like a teenager, that's how Bob feels inside everytime he saves someone and that's what he is jealous of. he is a superhero junkie.
There is also the issue of Bob having something like "spidey sense", he feels/predicts crime and it was subtley shown even in the first movie, so imagine him sitting there for 15 years literally feeling people being wronged left and right, every single day and being able to do something about it, but you can't cause of some laws.
It must be driving him crazy.
My big gripe with this sequel is at the beginning, Brad Bird took two steps backwards by having Bob and Helen tell their super kids to find a safe spot to hide after all they endured during the first movie together.
Well the thing is that it's NOT hard for Bob to let his wife be a "super." What's hard is that he's not doing it WITH her. Bob is an old fashioned kind if man. Which supports the setting of these movies as they appear to be set in the 70's , just with "superhero" based technology. Bob is a man raised to believe that HE had to take care of his family. It's not exactly a negative way of thinking; because he literally shows that he's willing to change and become a more involved father as the movie goes on. It's just that he is also extremely invested in being Mr. Incredible and to be told he's not needed is a genuine blow to his sense of self; and yes even his ego to a degree. To someone with Bob's mindset Helen being a mother and homemaker isn't something degrading or sexist; she's GOOD at it and he loves her even more for that. I feel like he's more hurt about not being involved, than her being chosen.
Glad you enjoyed this one. I like the first Incredibles better but overall, 2 is good.
Some Fun Facts FYI:
- Evelyn Deavor = Evil Endeavor
- Jack-Jack sees criminals on tv wearing masks, then he sees the racoon with a mask "stealing" garbage.
- It's a common superhero trope that speedsters burn a lot of calories and need to eat a lot of food to refuel.
My thoughts are they changed math so all the no child left behind students that are now parents have to try and figure out this convoluted new way to help their kids and end up learning some basic math in the process.
VKunia, It is way way okay to be grounded and a stay at home Mom 👩
Come on, Jack-Jack is a baby and he thinks the raccoon is a theif (technically, they are since they steal food from trash cans). Also raccoons, despite loking cute, they can be quite agressive. Their claws are sharp and have sharp teeth. A normal baby would get seriously injured in best senario and killed at worst.
No wonder his name is Jack-Jack…he has every power imaginable. He’s literally a Jack-Jack - of - all - trades! 😂
Third movie should focus on Jack Jack. Tony would know and accept her soon to be girlfriend’s “situation”. Edna would appear more.
You really enjoyed the movie? Even if:
- The new villain is boring. She hates heroes because their father dies before he could call them, that makes no sense! The thieves killed her father, not the heroes! Also, she was predictable. As soon as i saw her, it thought '' She is the villain or her brother is! '' Evelyn is not interresting at all! Syndrome is funny and menacing, his suit was cool and his gadgets too! He killed HUNDRED of heroes with his robots while she captured Elastigirl, Frozone, Incredible and the new heroes; that's it 🙁
- Jack-jack fighting the racoon was useless! Remove the scene from the movie and it won't change the story. We already knew he had a lot of powers, we saw it in the short with Carry the babysiter plus it was a fun moment who told us why Syndrome had the baby when the family returned home.
- The new heroes are not moemorable, funny or charming. The ONLY who is developped is the portal girl, the others are... there 😕
- The climax was dissappinting. Instead of seeing the heroes fighting a villain together, they stoped a boat. That's not exciting!
- Instead of Bob saving citizens and Ellen takes care of the kids, it's the oposite. Wow so original 😒
The animation is pretty and the music is nice but it's not enough to make the movie good to me. It's ok, i give it a 6|10.
Ellen says '' No casualties! '' after she saved the train ok BUT what about the peoples in the building after she fight the fake screen slaver? I'm sure they are really hurt or dead! Bob didn't killed anyone when he was in the jungle with the robot or in Syndrome's base; he knocked out a few guards AND saved peoples from the burning building. His wife knows what a hero is supposed to do right? Doesn't look like it in this movie!
What happened to Violet at the restaurant almost happened to me just now... because of what happened to Violet lmfaooooo I was drinking Root Beer and I forgot about that scene and now my nose is burning from Root Beer being in it 🤣
Only person who didnt enjoy JackJack and Racoon scenes. Jack Jack is no issue to animals, he simply mistook the raccoon for a burgular. Jack was bein a hero in his own innocent hysterical way lol
Bob wants to be a super again and even though he loves his wife, he can't help but to feel jealous of that she gets the mission and not him. I understand his frustration in this situation.
I can live with The Incredibles 3 or a live action The Incredibles. I plan to make a 3D animated DC universe that can be as beloved as The Incredibles.
New math is the same old math, just solved in different methods. The different methods make it supposedly easier for different brain types to solve the problems.
I think this movie suffers from trying to immediately follow the tease of the end of the first film. I think a time skip with the kids a bit older would have done them good because we the audience have grown a lot from the first one. I agree it was beautiful but too safe and predictable
Certainly not my favorite, it was a pretty good movie but didn’t live up to the first, this is more of a mrs incredible spin off movie than an incredibles movie.
Hi Vicky!😊 It is hard to believe they waited 14 years (2018) to make this sequel, but it picks up right after the first film. The black & white TV show they were watching was "The Outer Limits" from the 60s. It was similar to "The Twilight Zone" which actually overlapped for a few seasons. Good guess on the bad guy, Vicky.😉 Writer/Director Brad Bird is the voice of Edna "E" Mode!🤯 Great reactions to this well made sequel that is predictable but fun, Vicky!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏 Incredibles 3 hasn't been announced yet. Have a nice rest of the weekend, Vicky!😊
I was curious about the math textbook, the equation is legitimate, X=1.25
Aren't these films secretly about how free market economics are better than managed nationalised economies? It feels really shoehorned in.
I' ve said Mr. Deaver, reminded of someone and that someone was Walt Disney, the younger version. Check out the last name, the number of letters in both. Yes, I have a feeling, Winston has somehow found a way to become a superhero, this way he needs them back in action. Hope I'm wrong but a cool idea.
