Good video. Hard to compare items that are used because you don't know how they were cared for. I've purchased LED lights from HOG Works and they were excellent. I purchased a rack exactly like the ones you featured from Amazon. I got the rack, detachable backrest and docking hardware for less than $200. I did a video on the unboxing and mounting. I'm very happy with them. Fit and finish is excellent, as is the fitment. Great video Art!!!
Yes some products are as good as OEM but it is always lottery. I just recorded another video on chin spoiler from Amazon - beside missing parts 🤣 quality of spoiler was pretty good so I keep this one
I have bought some Chinese stuff off of Amazon. In my case Highway pegs and a rear rack for my heritage The rack was disassembled and hard to put together and when put together it was about 3/8 “ off so I sent it back. The highway pegs looked good well chromed. After about 6 months a peg just broke off. The casting was very poor with a terrible grain structure. OEM is more so I look for used a swap when I can. Still worth it. I have used Kuryakyn parts and I don’t know where they are made but well made. Same with Ness I have a intake/ breather from them that nice.
Nice example. Now that many manufacturers are keener than ever to save as much as possible on their end I think scrutinizing over quality is really important. Of course it's always a judgement call as to whether a price difference outweighs other considerations and as you say there are often times when that takes precedence, but I share the view that when quality matters it's best to go with a brand with a proven track record.

Most aftermarket Chinese parts are a headache and always have some quality and fitment issues. Broke a rear flasher unit on my Yamaha but was going to take a week to get from dealer. I needed to use the bike so I purchased aftermarket unit. Absolute rubbish fit and quality, lens screw and pattern about 5mm different from stock and not interchangeable. The genuine one will be in dealer next week so rubbish unit into trash, waste of time and effort. Same with their plastics and rubber products not UV resistant and the stuff falls apart after 2 hot summers. No wonder the land fill sites are overflowing. At the end of the day you only get the quality you pay for.

If HD chrome was perfect then I think you might have an argument. OEM have 30-40% mark up with the HD logo.

100% agree with you. Not all these products are bad comparing to OEM but this rack was not one of good examples :)

Yes 100% agree mate. Most of it is junk if not manufactured for reputable company.
