The reason why some do not like it is the exact same reason why others do. It is YG coded. I personally like YG's releases. Have they ever released a flop? No. They say empty chorus, wth, listen to Bigbang's and 2ne1's hits, even BP's, it is not like they were talking deep deep on their choruses for some of their bops. Music is meant to be enjoyed, it is not that deep. There are songs for that. I vibe with this, i enjoy listening to it and dancing along with it a lot, living in my head rent free for a week now. I will always support the girls. The talent they have is ridiculous. Personally I hope YG will let the girls develop their own sound and style instead of boxing them in the YG factory. I like the song, but it seemed like a safe song targeted for YG stans. The timing for everything with this debut seems like a mishandle. They made announcements then put the girls through a reality competition that ended up not even mattering..then the delays and member leaving rumors…then finally debuting and not promoting it. I wonder what the perception of this would be if this was a small company without the built in fan base. But positives…the girls kill this performance. I think what some are really overly hung up on is the fact that this sounds similar to Blackpink and Blackpink's sound, which is actually YG's sound, has been hitting us hard for 7 years as they were a global phenomenon. My question to those nay-sayers is, if you like Blackpink music, why wouldn't you like an improved version of them, AKA Babymonster?
