    Lol its like the same thing evolved independently of each-other. This is literally mewing. Fascinating.

      The thing is Dr. Mew “discovered” it decades after myofunctional therapy had already been established (I had my first sessions in the 1980s as a little kid) which is why I think he’s a fraud.

      Myofunctional therapy IS part of orthodontics, we all study it.

    I'm also living proof that my lack of air space regressed after having MA surgery by continuing to be a mouth breather for several years after. This is something Dr. Nelson Powell and Dr. Robert Riley of Stanford apparently wasn't aware of who did my surgery. Matterafact Dr. Kasey Li use to be part of Dr. Nelson Powell's practice back in the early days of MA and UPPP surgery in which they called performing both the Stanford Protocal. I don't think Dr. Kasey Li was aware of it too since their were no studies on it back then.

    If your mouth is too small, their's absolutely no way you can fit (squeeze) your tongue flatly against the top of the inside of your upper jaw( maxilla ) and betwen your front teeth. I don't care if your tongue behaves like an octopus or not. The back of your tongue is going to bend down and block your airways. The only way to achieve this is that the tip of your tongue will have to rest between your incisors with your lips closed. You're literally biting down on your tongue when closing your mouth. Also, you failed to ask them about mouth taping at night. That's something the Buteyko method teaches. That alone literally saved my life. If you've been a mouth breather for 50 yrs., it's something your brain can not learn where it becomes second nature and closes automatically when you go to sleep.

    • @JawHacks
      @JawHacks  8 місяців тому +4

      I agree with you and have long said the same. Yes, mouth taping is great but def not a panacea. Many people still snore even though mouth taping, as the tongue still falls into the throat.

      True. But having a small mouth due to being a mouth breather is a mixed blessing. My tongue is so wide in proportion to my small mouth that I'm able to clench my tongue between my upper and lower teeth. This makes my tongue immovable and locked in when I tape my mouth up. Tape mouthing has eliminated my severe sleep apnea to my sleep doctor's surprise where the MA surgery didn't. It even keeps me from my grinding my teeth during sleep. I probably grind my tongue now.😂 Hey kudos to you and Andrew Huberman for turning me on to cold showers. My muscles and joints never felt better. Plus a lot less layers I have to wear when I go out running on these cold Jersey mornings. If you can get Andrew Huberman on your channel that would be such a coup for enhancing your viewership.

      @@jefreywith1f924 Is it not a part of the goals with mewing to widened your mouth/palate?

    • @jefreywith1f924
      @jefreywith1f924 8 місяців тому +1

      I'm a older adult where my bones have hardened and are no longer maluable. So in my case mewing won't widen my jaw bone. However, mewing does keep my tongue from blocking my airspace and therefore making it easier for me to breathe thru my nose.

    these things, and breath-work, posture-correction...this is all we need, along w diet/lifestyle/mindset...head-loading will put 100% of these professions out of business, if people start doing it again, as our ancestors did for hundreds of thousands of years.

    It seems to be great preventative care after being breast feeding. Btw Ron, I tried to reach out to you but I couldn’t get a response and understandable so. I know you’re doing interviews after tax season, can you do in person interviews as well? On the computer is fine and it has its virtue but if your open for it I would be pleased to meet you. I am in the same state as well so it’s nothing too difficult

    Hey Ron I noticed recently I have stopped meowing for a while because of fear. When mewing aren’t you supposed to swallow the tongue? I feel the sensation of my tongue in my throat and that deters me.

    • @drstojanovicvladan
      @drstojanovicvladan 5 місяців тому

      That's the incorrect way to swallow, call it Mewing if you want (i am pretty sure the instructions from Mew on how to swallow are correct). Keep touching your palate, behind your upper incisors and swallow while keeping the tongue there.
