These are some of the most graceful arms I’ve seen on a ballerina yet
She is my favorite ballerina in Mariinsky.Great élégance, technical perfection, agréable Lady of the classicalballet🎉🎉🎉💯💯💯💯💞💞💞
Unbelievable fouettes and an interpretation of Raymonda, the top😮😮😮😮
Tereshkina has such supreme confidence and charisma - she's like no one else!
She is absolutely amazing!!❤
Mariinsky has the best ballerinas in the world and Tereshkina is the best among them in several roles.
Such a beautiful technician and full of grace. Love her.
I SWEAR she's the Dancing Ballerina on my jewelry box growing up!!! NYC☪️
Oh, how I love those gorgeous Russian-trained bourees! That impossibly fluid motion! The ankle and foot strength it takes to move like this is /phenomenal/. But it's not a showy, make-them-gasp step, like big jumps, multiple pirouettes, or huge extensions. An audience member has to be educated enough to appreciate the subtle beauty. And that education takes a while.
True embarrassing story: the very first time I saw bourees correctly performed, I was about eight years old, and on a summer sleepover with two ballet-class buddies. It was the mid- 1970s. We'd all been studying with a fantastic Russian emigree for about two years.
It was well past our normal bedtime, and we were giddy with fatigue and the pure sugar rush from normally forbidden Coca-cola and candy.
We were watching a rare treat: a televised black-and-white (of course) Kirov performance of "Giselle."
As Act II begins - correct me if my memory is wrong! -- Marta (Giselle?) does a truly spooky back-and-forth bouree across the full width of the stage.
To create the illusion of a ghost floating, nothing is supposed to appear to be in motion. All you should see is an apparition, moving mysteriously in the mist.
I now realize the dancer we were watching was incredible. Sadly, I've never found this clip again,v so I can't credit her properly.
But the three idiot girls watching back then Iaughed so hard, we almost threw up our popcorn and licorice.
It just looked so funny to us, this person moving from wing to wing as if pulled on a string!
That fall, we three started pointe.
Myrtha :-)
@@olgaknyaz Yes! What a fantastic role that is. Giselle gets all the focus, but I actually much prefer Myrta. A strong woman, righteous anger. Giselle is about forgiveness, but I struggle with that. The Prince is a jerk. Why doesn't she also protect Hilarion? He's the one who really, truly loves her.
What do you think?
@@lburgess63 let’s just say that in classical ballet, the damsel in distress (ex: Giselle, Odette, Nikiya,Raymonda etc) is mostly in the spotlight while the more sassy, spicy roles (ex: Myrtha, Gamzatti, Odile) are mostly antagonists. There are exceptions of course, think Kitri, Swanilda :)
@@ThuyLe-jy2me So true. I remember that these roles were developed in the so-called Romantic Age. The ideal woman was innocent, "pure," passive, accepting. A victim, not a protagonist. How interesting would a recast be, switching male and female? Obviously it would require new choreography. I'm not suggesting men in tutus and pointe shoes, or women trying to heave men over their heads.
You write this beautifully, thank you!
Love her so much!❤
Thank you for this video of an exceptional ballerina!! Viktoria portrays each role through her beautiful artistry and strong technique. It is a pleasure to watch her perform. ❤❤💖💖🌹🌹🐦
She is absolutely gorgeous!
It's the precision of Vishneva but taller proportions. I can say I love Tereshkina, Kaptsova and Skorik the most as looks combined with expression and technique
Sinto imenso prazer em assistir suas performances. A mim parece ser perfeita! Parabéns, Tereshkina! ❤
Krasawica ♥
She really is the tops. And her skill matched with the artistry is much more than the circus artist Osipova. She can do amazing meals and turns but she doesn't have the proportions nor elegance of the true Russian ballerina, Tereshkina.
Totalmente de acuerdo!
Yay! Tereshkina! Love her. Could you do more ‘best of’ compilations, preferably all mariinsky current first soloists if you can get a hand on them. Thank u!!
Sure, thanks for your suggestion 🥰
Thanks for the amazing video 👍❤️
0:04 Dulcinea variation
0:49 Paquita Grand pas variation
1:12 Nikiya's death
2:12 Raymonda dream scene variation
2:51 Fouettes in Paquita Grand pas coda
3:30 Nikiya Act I variation
Thank you ❤️
@@DanceLineBallet no problem✨
What performance is 1:45 from?
@@Beattherapist2deathinsexdreams its from la bayadere
I would add Odile and Aurora among her best roles. She is one of the dancers closest to perfection
Nice video man
3:10 to me that little final side step is way too cute
Beautiful, beautiful. Just a bit too much wrist, I feel. I'd like to see the lines of her arms extend to her fingers, without so much breakage at the wrist.
It would be nice if you could list the ballet excerpts in that compilation. Thank you.
Yes, please do list the ballets.
They don't probably because most people know them.
@@anastasialenkova-molchalin5874 Maybe some, but not all of them. I'm not the only one apparently.
@Catherine COZZANDO
Sometimes someone lists them in the comments, and someone always answers if anyone asks what something is.
I think the format the channel "worldwide ballet" used to have for these "best of" videos was better, the names and full variations not chopped .
