Awesome video I have disassembled two craftsman snowblowers and our putting them back together.
These things are rust magnets, so after grinding down the shoot and repainting and taking out the auger to put a new plastic bushings along with new needle bearings on the break assemblies I thought I need to put some grease fittings in here. Maybe I could find a video and what do you know here is your video doing a fabulous job.
There’s not a lot of people out there that will go through the time of taking bolts out, cleaning everything down and putting them back in to me it doesn’t seem like too much work and I enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together but there’s a lot of throwaway culture and many people that don’t have the skills but also don’t have the desire to maintain their own equipment.
Thank you for your video. Before I saw your video, I ended up buying all the right things today at Harbor freight so tomorrow it should go pretty well.

Hi brasha78. Thanks for checking out the video. These old craftsman snowblowers are really built well. The metal is very thick. You can easily grind the rust off and still have plenty of metal left over. You’re right. They’re a rust magnet. The main reason is there isn’t any plastic parts on it. The only thing that’s plastic from memory is the gas tank and the shroud that covers the belts. It’s one of those pieces of equipment that you have to lubricate at least once or twice a year. If you manage the rust these things will go for a very long time. I have ordered replacement carburetters from Amazon and they have worked very well. I still kept the old carburetor. It is made heavy duty. The kits for the factory carbs are quite expensive and they don’t always work. Still in my opinion they are great machines. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and posting comments. Roger.

Waiting for the re-install of the auger and lubing of the auger shaft.

Hey oldbiker. Thanks for checking out the video. I wasn’t planning to do a video on the auger reinstall. However, I will do one on the lubrication of the auger shaft and other important areas of a snow blower. Roger
