I love when characters are close enough to their voice actors that a casual conversation between the two of them sounds exactly like a casual conversation their two characters would have.
I'm amazed at Shunichi-san's history teacher. The teacher really helped him out. Most of the teachers that I encountered are the same with Daisuke-san's teacher. This also encouraged me to study harder. Everyone is a YDK ✊!!

I love that Dai-chan's scores reminds me of another role he played, Leonhardt from The Royal Tutor who got less than 3 on math, with a score of 1 and that's bc he spelt his name right😂
I know, right? xD It's kinda poetic in a way, though, right? Both Dai-chan and Leonhard did end up improving pretty significantly in their test scores, so I guess they're pretty alike in that sense =-D

My math score went from 125/125 to 88/125 not cuz I’m bad at math I’m really trying, it’s cuz our math teacher is legitimately an asshole. He would scold us for no reason and criticize our every little move, holding a grudge against us for what?? We didn’t do anything at all. He also mocked our entire family saying that our family have no manners at all. He’s also bad at teaching like his teaching is all over the place we can’t understand a thing. Well I think he got fired now but I lost all motivation to study math cuz of him And I can relate to Shunichi I’m still bad at remembering names and dates. History is my least favorite subject

omg i had an asshole teacher too She was literally two-faced, she acted all nice in front of the parents and other teachers but she's an asshole around us students, she doesn't teach at all, and she scolds us for no reason, and she plays favorites. The only time she ever taught was when another teacher/staff member walked in the class. I told my mom and she said smth, I forgot what it was, but it sounded like smth Mafuyu's mom would say And also, same, I'm also bad at remembering names and dates
I had a similar thing happen except it was the opposite, first semester my math teacher sucked so i gradually stopped paying attention during his classes i got a 74% as my final grade and didn’t understand a single thing. Second semester I moved schools and i had an amazing teacher, my grade jumped up to 92% I was literally so happy. Teachers and class environment really make the difference, if you typically perform well but your grades happen to drop after you get taught by a certain teacher, chances are it’s not your fault at all. I hope you’re doing better and dont have to ever deal with a teachers bs again!!
I’m pretty sure that Shunichi wanted Rui and the audience to face what they don’t like, whether it’s certain subjects that they’re bad at or foods that they don’t like, head-on, so that’s why I translated things that way…. 😅

i remember in maths we usually do like free answer tests and usually i get like c's so one day the teacher gives us a multiple choice quiz and our average was a literal 14/100 (or maybe a 33/100 i forgot) bc we were only given 20 minutes to answer 20 graphing questions without a calculator so the teacher dropped it and i got a 33/100 also hirose so relatable bc i only scored a 14/36 on our quiz (the exact same thing as the other one) i also remember last year my class usually studies to memorise the info not understand it so our averages on history tests, with a teacher who usually wrote understanding based tests and quizzes, was usually like 14-36 points out of 100 and i always somehow got a 75/100 because i sort of freestyled it and used my brain ability to guess which werent possible and which were possible and like 17 of the 50 questions were memorisation based so everyone got those right

In Japanese, YDK stands for “yareba dekiru ko (やれば出来る子);” for the sake of simplicity, I just translated it literally to “a kid that can do anything if they put their mind to it” or something along those lines.
you GOTTA stop putting tone tags in the subs. tone tags are used sparingly in conversation with other people NOT in translations. please. for the love of god
@catnepdotbiz For the record, I’m autistic, so I thought that putting tone tags in my subs would help people like me to ascertain the speakers’ intent with what they were saying. I’ll keep them out of my future uploads, though.
