A suggestion: Record yourself renovating, then do an asmr voice-over explaining what you’re doing or what the plans for the apartment is, whatever honestly because we listen to what ever you have to say! Then you dont have to stress about having to record content whilst working on the apartment. Good luck!
Thank you for your suggestion! I really appreciate it and I'm currently recording everything I have been doing so far this week with my phone, the progress content will be fun to edit! 🥰
Congratulations. No place is perfect. There is always problems with houses/apartments. The good news is pretty much anything can fixed or changed if you throw enough money at it. Just focus on top priorities and what you can afford. The rest will happen over time. It can be a lot of work and a lot of fun. It's yours and you can make it amazing. Looks like the start of a new adventure to me. Thanks for the soothing sounds as always. I love property and this was great! Looking forward to more.
We moved into out first flat almost 3 years ago and when we did it was an absolute mess, but over the first year we decorated it all an it fast became our home! My advice is to do things in order of how bad they are, as in fix the worst room first, then the average of how much you like the place will shoot up! it won't take long before you feel at home!
It’s crazy the power of a platform UA-cam has and will be we get to see other people point of views on life it’s crazy because I love this quote “everyone experienced today in a different way.
What a spacious apartment, with so much potential. It will look cozy after you renovate it. I'd love that old kitchen, it's solid wood and will last forever (unlike ikea stuff), I'd replace the appliances though. If the kitchen drawers and cabinets smell, all you need to do is use a mix of cleaning vinegar and warm water to wipe it out. Congratulations on your new home!
Maybe it's a cultural thing but as a Swede we do love our IKEA kitchens and they usually hold up good over here in Scandinavia ☺️ Unfortunately the original 1950's kitchen has a rotting issue behind all of the counters from previous water damage, so I do need to get it removed ASAP 😕
Honestly the flooring is beautiful 😻 but it’s totally understandable if you want to change it since it’s not your style . Good luck ! You’ll feel so happy and accomplished once you make this your new home you’re so lucky to have a place to turn into your home 😊
Congratulations on your purchase. Don't let it get it into your head. It's yours. It might be frightening. When you think how much work you have to put into it. We're after finishing renovation in the kitchen. It wasnt easy.. . But we got through it. You will get through it. Be strong 💪 and remember it's Yours. Good luck with the renovations.
The floor is actually really nice, it’s pretty nice touch to the space. I think the walls could use better colors and the outlets and light switches should get a good update.
I would have never guessed that the kitchen was from the 50s - it looks like something you would currently buy at ikea. The 50s kitchens here in the US looked very different.
Congratulations on the apartment Erudwen! Overall the place looks nice and in decent shape; looking forward to another tour once it's been renovated and "girlified" to your tastes. I had a fridge like that once...lol... eventually I became accustomed to it as I couldn't afford to replace it but great that you'll be able to swap it out for a new one.😊 👍
Congrats on the new place! I know it can be overwhelming at first to move into a fixer upper, but I promise it will be worth it. You’ll be able to put your own personal stamp on it. Can’t wait to see the progress!
This was a great video, lots of fun enjoying you describe the apartment! Im sure it will updated in no time 😊. Really liked hearing more of your normal voice towards the end of the video too.
I think the bestway to go about doing the renovation there is just buy bunch of drywall, remove skirting boards and electrical boxes and then cover the old walls completely. After that work the drywall so it can be painted. You will save so much time doing that instead of patching holes in the walls that will glow through ur new paint coat. I did that for all of my homes and I can say that is the way.
Congrats! Hope you make that apartament a home really soon. And by the way, you look gorgeous in this video, more than usual. You really look happy, and that makes us happy too
I'm very happy for you. You are in a upwards swing. I feel I've been on this journey with you and I can clearly see how happy and vibrant you look now as opposed to before. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad. I really like your place, very quaint but somehow, I can see it transforming under your care. It's going to be amazing. However, the toilet, washing machine, shower, and heater are all in the same area, only separated by a curtain? That's pretty bananas. Lol
It is actually the norm over here in Sweden to have the washing machine in the bathrooms and not in the kitchen (as you do in UK and America!) Some bigger houses have laundry rooms but that's not as common as having the outlets in the bathrooms, but every apartment complex has a community washing machines in the cellar or separate building ☺️!
Congratulations on your new gaff... it might not have the aesthetic you want currently but I'm sure one room at a time you can make it 'your's'. Looking forward to seeing the transformation
this is a very very good house, the one in which i live (which is totally fine for me) is not even close to be as good in structure as this appartment!!! hope you have a good time with your new place, one of the best feeling I ever had (even in the most dificult part of my life) was having a place to live alone and make things on my time..
Congratulations on the move, that's fantastic! It was rather intriguing hearing your normal voice for a few seconds, not gonna lie haha! It was like something we all probably thought we'd never get to hear and it made me laugh and smile so I appreciate that minor blooper! I wish you the best of luck with your new venture, Eru! 😁
Tack så jättemycket för feedbacken, kommer absolut visa uppdateringar på hur det går med renoveringen.. det tar ett tag men filmar det mesta som jag lyckas få gjort 🥰!
Ohh thank you for the suggestion, been thinking for like two years to create content like that since I love anything Christmas and anything cozy! Crossing my fingers that my apartment will be done until then so I can make some extra cozy content ❤️
Congrats on the apartment! Would like to see how the renovation goes! Hope you get quiet neighbours this time 😅 older buildings tend to have noice problems.
Only thing that seems to be a bit noisy is the front door out to the stairwell, and the front doors are scheduled to be switched out in the near future! 🤓
Sad to hear that second hand shopping is looked down on in your part of the world, it is very popular over here and very common! Being kind to your wallet and the environment at the same time 🥰
Keep your head high everything will work out fine trust the process take it one room at a time do not do it all at once it will be overwhelming and scary but you will be soo happy at the end of it ….and if you are still not you have a fantastic asset to move to the next place 🤞
Firstly congratulations, it looks great. Secondly, have you considered having the kitchen repaired/repainted? I bet the old wooden cabinets and cupboards are far better quality than Ikea stuff and would probably last longer. I also think they look better than modern ones, but maybe that's just me.
Unfortunately not, the original 1950's kitchen has a problem with rot behind all of the counters from older water damage, needing to remove them ASAP 😕
You know it's honestly not as bad as I thought it would be! Definitely needs work but I think it'll be great after you get those renovations done Edit: ok so I commented that before seeing the bathroom, maybe I got ahead of myself lmao
Ohh trust me its only been a week and its taking its toll on my sanity.. the bedroom has 9 layers of wallpaper down to the originals from the 1950's and its awful trying to scrape all of it off.. but I'm soon done with one room 🤓! The bathroom is horrible!!
Congrats on the new place! It seems quite spacious. I'm sure you're going to do a brilliant makeover! ☺ P.S.: You realize that now we need a "before and after" ASMR video of your place haha?
Haha yes! I have been so far recording almost everything I've been doing renovation-wise 😅 Turned out to be 9 layers of wallpapers back from the 1950's.. found old newspapers behind the 8th layer 💀
"old as fuck" ahaha yeah those round power plugs are ancient. i kinda like the floor but it does look really depressing combined the white/gray walls. your idea for the place sounds a lot warmer and cozier. The kitchen is nostalgic, had similar cabinets growing up, don't think they were painted though. That cutting board is totally that kind of convention/yaoi paddle shape. Your "normal" speaking voice is relaxing too.
We still only use round plugs for electricity over here in Sweden but the plugs are so old that they're yellowed 😩! Going to switch those out to cleaner newer ones!
@@ErudwenASMR I worded it poorly, i meant round as in no grounding slits. Yeah replacing them makes sense. Excited to see what the place looks like when it's finished!
It is the norm over here in Sweden to have the washing machine in the bathroom, I have never seen one outside of the bathroom if you don't live in a large house with a laundry room! 😃
Roughly 125 thousand dollars for this apartment (which is quite a lot for a single person household in Sweden!) If you have a stable job and 15% in cash for the downpayment you're allowed a bank loan for the other 85% over here, as long as you don't have a lot of older loans or loans you missed to pay on it's quite easy to get a loan ☺️
Just my humble opinion of course but you sound pretty harsh towards ''that other guy'' .. maybe the camera doesnt do justice to what you re complaining about but your appartment looks pretty good. That ''ruined'' wooden shelf on the balcony part, looks like he had some plants chilling there and that left a mark. The couple of holes in the wall are pretty normal in a used place. From what UA-cam is rendering, your new place looks pretty clean as is, its only missing your personal touch. Congratz on the aquisition.
The outlets are old as ✨ f u c k ✨ made me laugh haha

I'm always jealous of the second hand market you have in Sweden. Where I live it is a bit looked down on and, for some reason, really expensive.
