Hutch played some league of legends in the tournament. He played his role so perfectly, doesn't matter how much cs or exp he gives up, don't feed the enemy top laner, and don't be afraid to start fights when his teammates around. For someone at his experience level you cannot possibly expect anything more from him.
the biggest lesson that I think anyone can learn in LoL is this: sometimes you have to humble yourself and allow the team to carry you. There is NO shame in that. Sometimes, you just aren't having a great game. So humble yourself, play safe, don't feed, and just play as a team letting them carry you.
@@The757packerfan The thing people forget is that the point is not to be the strongest, the point is to win. If the best way to win is to let others carry you while you keep them alive, that's how you should play every single time. What’s impressive isn’t DL mechanically outplaying lower level players it’s micro managing all of his teammates while also doing what he needs to do to carry. He coached his team into winning very well. WP
@@luigimelon3334 agreed, I was actually blown away by how impressive that was. T1 was giving him shit for shitting on silvers or whatever but that aspect was overlooked. The vet in him really showed here. Would love to see him do more of this.
Yeah if you just listen to the streams of the other captains, it's obvious that DL is just coaching his team SO much better than those other teams that it's not even comparable. Everybody is talking about how his Twitch or his Jinx carried but really it's the fact that DL can so calmly and clearly command his team, who have no idea what they're doing. One really cool thing he does is he recognizes when a situation is stressful or tough for a new player, which Boxbox and Emiru definitely cannot, and tells them to set their expectations correctly (try to defend the tower, it's gonna be really hard but do as much as you can, try not to die 20 times against Boxbox top, that's all you need to do, etc). This is the real difference maker between him and the other teams.
yep, it’s better to have worse players that listen, than better players that think they know best. and an ex-pro is going to be so much better anyway, whether they’re playing vs a bronze or diamond player
Holy hell man...I've never seen Hutch look so genuinely happy lmao. He was always so cringe and a bit down while RPing but man. That's super awesome to see him having such a good time and just going ham.
This editing was so good! Capturing the multiple perspectives without interrupting the pace of the game, short jokes that don’t overstay their welcome and that aren’t absurdly loud compared to the rest of the audio (pet peeve with so many videos…). The S drawing with the music was so funny. I really enjoyed this, particularly as someone who doesn’t have time to watch streams any more.
its probably muscle memory. When top athletes play at an elite level, their techniques are so often repeated that they just memorize it as a functional motor program in the motor cortex, at least thats one of the most popular theory. Thats why DL does not have to to think about any of his movement pattern. He instinctively knows how to move his character in the most optimal way. Because of that, he has the ability to focus on his so called "game intelligence" which is a key aspect in elite sports. It allows player to think about the state of the game, different strategies etc... I hope this answers your question :)
The finals was the hardest game, I was anxious just watching it. It was against statistically very stacked odds. It was like, Emiru was an ADC grinder that hit Diamond, Starsmitten (Celine) hit Diamond 2-3 peak before grandmaster/master inflation, so it's basically Diamond 1, Sydeon who was consistently gold/plat, Lirik a former player, and Jakenbake a DOTA moba player so he has understanding of the basic aspect of the game and as we can see, doublelift's team is very very very unstacked when you compare the teams. It was also chaotic because ATT declared no remake when the Blitz app accidentally swapped summoner spells on jungle. Luckily, all players forced the remake and the game proceeded as normal. I told ATT that they were mentally ill and I was banned from chat and I'm not taking that back, they deserve to be told that they're mentally ill for saying no remake on a casual competitive tournament that has 6 figures on the line, dumbasses. Aside from ONE blundered fight in the early game, this was an awesome game. DL had 12 cs/min! Some Chovy level stuff from the man.
I mean they also drafted triple ad threat into a malphite maokai. If they don't get DL in their teamfight it fucked, DL team out drafted them they just had to play for their AD. I can imagine it hella stressful live but from the vod after I see the draft I knew it was over.
I don't think emiru is very good, or at least not really diamond level. Also gm inflation is kind of a term that gold players like to throw around without really understanding how the ranked ladders work, first of all there are more people playing league as time passes, which means there are going to naturally be more people in every rank, masters included, secondly players improve over time, a common example is how an insec was a crazy play in season 6 but a gold player could pull it off now. but on the flip side, I don't think doublelift really played that well either but considering he was probably splitting his attention on coaching his team I'll let it pass
@@bobchin5662Lots of people were stuck solo in Masters once duo is back in masters now people all of a sudden climb to GM. It's like that female player who got boosted to challenger (Kat main) by spica and pants ate dragon. Then once u had to play solo they are just hardstuck.
