      Bilbo Baggins he actually did offer it, i know which video you are talking about. All the sharks knew he was actually offering it but his ego was hurt when he got rejected so he played it off as a question. There was a interview and when i came back to this video i realized he actually wanted to buy the company, because trust me it would make him a fortune.

    • @ToomanyFrancis
      @ToomanyFrancis 5 років тому +8

      I sold that wine in stadium concession stands a few years ago. I'm sure that wasn't his original intended purpose, but it definitely makes a ton of money. By not taking the sharks advice (to sell the patented bottle to better wine manufacturers), he's established his company as the only bottled wine available.

    • @victorvandamme2711
      @victorvandamme2711 5 років тому +6

      Toomany Francis i’m gonna have to disagree here. They didn’t tell him to sell the patent but rather split his business to work with better wine producers. Imo this is a great idea because people who enjoy expensive wine’s don’t wanna always drink an entire bottle and rather just drink 1 glass of their favorite wine. So if he would of worked with other wine brands this would have been even more profitable. But he is doing great so he must be doing something right

    • @LukeGibsonSS
      @LukeGibsonSS 6 років тому +55

      If you're selling that much and not even making 10% markup and then giving away 25% of it, that's even more insane. And to give away 25% of a company for only 1 and a half years profit, hen you're turning over that much you could easily get $150,000 on a loan and then the payback would only be temporary. It's just a very odd business move, the only way I can swing it is if he thought the second outing would have the same boost in business as the first time and he'd pre-agreed to a deal before hand to get a second appearance.

      When certain breeds of sharks smell blood (i.e., a potential money maker and a desperate inventor) they will attack in a frenzy - each trying to get the biggest piece which is pretty much how these investors are.
      Also, sharks are real... unlike dragons.
