    I’m so glad someone else has picked up on this. The first PRS I ever played was an SE Paul’s Guirar and I was BLOWN AWAY. The thing just rings out. You can feel the vibrations up and down the neck and through the body as you play. It’s like it plays for you. Just incredible. I had to buy one. Had to. Now have the Amber version arriving in a week or so. Cannot wait to play it again.

    my wife came in and caught me... yep... drooling over the PRS SE 35th anniversary model.
    She said "if that's what you really want - get it!"
    I've had it about a week and yeah, it's as good as I hoped it would be... thanks Paul!
    She's a keeper, and the PRS too. Am I a lucky guy or what?

    I just got mine and I am blown away. The neck is wide fat and I have big hands so I'm cool with that. These pickups rock. The split pickups sound like single coils instead of a humbucker trying to sound like a single coil.
    Smooth as butter. Stays in tune. To me it's light but I play les Paul's, 335s and heavy strats. Now I'm looking at my other guitars wondering if it's time to part ways with them since this will cover EVERYTHING we play

    Bought mine last weekend. I’m blown away. I own a Core McCarty 594 one-off. This guitar is not less quality, with the only exception being the tuners.
    The cosmetics on my Indonesian Paul’s are CLEANER than on my 594.
    The craftsmen behind mine at least cared very much about the work, and with global pay doscrepancy could likely spend as much time or more on any given guitar than the US workers in Maryland could.
    The pickups leave nothing to be desired. The split sounds are MUCH better than in the 2015 Core Paul’s I owned, and did not bond with as beautiful as it was (one piece top I might add).
    These are stupid. These first years will be coveted.
    Thanks for the great no nonsense video. ~Josh

      The sounds coming thru the phone as far as the tone of the guitar were really good. And phone speakers suck. You can imagine that live in the room it sounded much better. You can tell how good a guitar is by how it feels in your hands. Quality is a tactile thing and PRS has it in spades across their whole product line. They don't make these guitars to compete with a $4,000 core instrument. This guitar sells for around $1,000 and Paul's goal is for that guitar at that price point to be the best one you can get for the money. Compare it to others and see for yourself. Paul says he picks it up and it just works. You aren't fighting the guitar, you are just making music. Sounds good to me!

    I bought that guitar, just like that, without thinking much. I just asked "do you have a Paul's?" they said yes. I didn't even know teh difference between an SE and a Core. I didn't know PRS did "cheap guitars". Right when I passed my credit card through the machine, it hit me "shit, is an SE simply a cheaper guitar because it's just cheap made but didn't figure it out when trying it?". And yes. But no. I found myself it sounds incredible while testing it. It feels incredible. It looks incredible. It plays incredible. And now all the reviews I find on the web are nearly secretly telling people "don't waste 4k in a core, buy an SE, it's just the same, but for less".

    I’m not going to join the PRS love train quite yet but your assessment of what makes a guitar good is absolutely true IMO.
    I’m going to play a PG today (SE version) after just buying a Fender CS about a week ago.
    I’ve owned a few PRS guitars over the years and the consistency there is the best there is IMO. I’ve pulled many a Fender or Gibson high priced duds off the wall. I think we all have and PRS isn’t always perfect but damn close more often than not.
    The SE line has grown to the point to no longer even being prominent on the headstock yet they proudly tell you exactly who made it and where it’s made on the back. For a company like PRS, those two things say a lot
    About their confidence in the SE instruments.
    I hope I like the Paul’s guitar I play today (here in NOVA). If I do, I’ll proudly stand it right next to a LP & my Esquire CS.
    Each of those guitars would be 3x the cost of an SE but I can guarantee neither will play or sound 3x better.
    That’s my confidence level in PRS.
    PRS just makes great guitars, period.
    Also subbed bass on your genuine take here. 👍🏻

    I agree also the guitar feels comfortable held and the neck allows your hands to do what they can. The tone is important up to a point because the pedals and amps take care of what comes out of the guitar to the sound you want or hear. It getting more and more that maybe in the future pickups will just capture the strings raw the musical frequencies and deliver that musical product that feeds into pedals and amps for the tones and sound you want. Its getting more and more that way which is good.

I like more the jazzy tone that the Paul's give, but I think I'm going to miss the Tremolo, the 24 frets and the dynamism of the 24-08. • @fernandobolanos1649
      @fernandobolanos1649 2 роки тому

      @@gururajchadaga Finally I bought the Paul's becuase I think is more versatile. You even can play jazz in it and it has a lot of adventages; great sustain, more colorful in my opnion (I have the 2022 edition with that faded blue) I'm in love with the neck, its so confirtable, I listen to the tone like cristal clear but in a Gibson way, or cristal clear in a "wood" way. I think part of the reason is in the bridge with the brass inserts (this was the most difficult decision for me becasue I like the tremolo, but it worth the sacrifice) and in the 22 frets (you don't really need 24 frets 😂). So, my recomendation (and sorry for my english) if you want a specific tone more like a Strat with that cristal clear in a "cristal" way you maybe would be more satisfied with the 24-08 to play Indie or rock/blues but to play things more like jazz, fusion and also blues/rock in my opinion the Se Paul's guitar is better. Even Paul Red Say is his best guitar and that in the SE verison their are giving us far more than what we are paying for!!! Pd: The guitar that sounds more similar to the Pauls to me is the Jerry Garcia's "Wolf" that use in concert from Agoust 73 to October 74, in 78 and October 89, but he used it almost without no bass, with single coils and not using the sustain very often(you can imagine how it would sound with your eq) The eyes of the world from the 74 are great example... When you get to it, really, you don't want too much treble, too much bass, in other words - an average sounding guitar. And into an average-sounding amp (enough overdrive, not too much), average speakers, average P.A. - wok 'n' whoa. Play well.

    I get the impression of much more of a top carve on this than my SE, especially on that too horn. Mine is essentially flat at this point. I don't know whether they've stained it in such a way to just appear that way.
    Or idk...are Paul's Guitar SE 's just given more of a carve than standard SE's?

    • @aaronjones3181
      @aaronjones3181 4 роки тому

      I tried one out yesterday, and it definitely seemed to have a bit more carve to it compared to the other SE's I've seen. The out of the box setup was what sold it for me though. Easily one of the best playing guitars I've ever picked up, regardless of price.

    • @paulsmith3583
      @paulsmith3583 5 років тому

      The solid bridge just gives you more sustain. It IS adjustable for intonation, as it moves back and forth, just not for each individual string. This works just fine for "standard" sets of strings, but not for "top heavy light bottom" sets. Try one, they work just fine, and sound great.

    any concerns that PRS is now so diversified and doing the Indo made guitars? and how do you intonate the strings if the bridge is static?

    • @robbiePhotard
      @robbiePhotard 5 років тому +1

      Each string sits in a groove. Inside the bridge, each string sits on a ridge approximating the correct intonation, akin to an acoustic saddle. The fine adjustment is made with screws at the low and hide sides where the bridge sits in the posts. It's easy to adjust and intonates perfectly. I have two PRS SE Standard 22 guitars with this bridge.

What I'm hearing... IS. NOT "U TUBE " Compression. It's MXR Dyna Comp, ( or Similar ) After Guitar. Hey.. Sometimes I use a Comp too ! ( rarely ) My Point is.... If you REALLY Want to ( Hear & feel ) if an Electric Guitar.. has that "Thang" going "ON" Play it in a Quiet place. No Amp @ first.. Listen & FEEL IT ! ( You can ALLWAYS change the Pickups/ Electronics) If you're in a store that has multiple examples of the same guitar, you might find an UNREAL One. ( Cheap or expensive) Find a decent amp. Listen to it Clean... & through a Distortion you're familiar with. Happy Hunting, Ben ! [ When you find a "Magic one".. KEEP IT ! ]
