He is by far one of the most magnificent actors I have ever had the privilege of seeing. Simply mesmerizing, trying to watch all his movies!!! Love him!!
He's spot on about The Hunt being frustrating. When I finished watching that film I was so mad, I hated it, I had to force myself to sit and finish it and walked out thinking "what a terrible film". But by the end of the day I was already thinking that it's one of the best films ever made, in the sense that it makes you live in the skin of the character and feel the same absurdity of the situation. It's intentionally made hard to watch, infuriates you with its hopelessness. Mads's character acts "like an idiot" and makes you scream at the screen to try and tell the others that he's innocent. But after the film I thought that was the whole point of it and it realized it flawlessly.
+muk as (mukas) Actually the one thing your missing is...the film is so good because it treats all its characters realistically. People who watch the film seem to forget that the audience gets an unrealistic view of the situation aka we get to see the truth. In real life you would have her word vs his and a lot of people would probably believe he is guilty. That is just as scary as what happens to him, how easily we become suspicious or become a hate mob in such cases.
@@zara159 I think people react out of their own fear - no one wants to be the one who doubted a child and then turned out that the child was indeed abused. It is safer not to give the man a benefit of doubt and say he is innocent until proven guilty.
That was a very good interview. Mads started out a bit shy and reluctant but the interviewer was able to earn his trust and Mads opened up and engaged with him completely. Straight up humble and honest guy. Charming to boot too.
Mads is such a talented and beautiful actor he's very spacial 🥰🥰 if I ever start a acting career Mads will be the inspection . He's so inspiring it makes me want to be an actor. God I wish I could meet him. 🥰✨💖😘😘
Probably thinking,"When will this interview ever end?" He was so patient and thoughtful, but it did seem excessive in terms of keeping him there. I think Mads is quite professional and has a great sense of humor.
I AM OBSESSED WITH HIM. And get this, I'm from Toronto, BORN AND RAISED, he moves to Toronto, and guess where I am? JAPAN! FML. LOL. My faves from him, The Hunt, A Royal Affair, Prague, Open Hearts, Valhalla Rising and hell even Clash of the Titans. OMG I LOVE HIM!!!! WHY IS HE MARRIED!!! Ok, rant done.
Hey thanks for your suggestion! Since my original comment I've watched, The Door, Adam's Apples, Pusher 2, Wilbur, After the Wedding, and even I am Dina where he has a small role, nonetheless riveting! I will be SURE to watch Green Butchers! Thanks again! I LOVE EVERYTHING he's in!
I think that Mads does a lot of method acting, perhaps without knowing it. His emotional range is very impressive, and the emotions he powerfully portrays probably come from the inside and merge with the character's emotions. Method acting is the best method for powerful actors like you, Mads. Look into it.
You sould really look into some of is older danish stuff, try the green butchers, its kinda weird but he does a great akward sociopath, you kinda need to have a dark humor to get it but most ppl find it great, you can even watch it with subs here on youtube.
Cool that he mentions Nicolas Winding Refn, never occurred to me before but of course they have worked together, they're both Danish 😁 I love Drive, I plan to watch Valhalla Rising. I recently watched Prisoners (released around the same time as this film) which tells a story from the perspective of a father whose daughter is missing and he accuses a neighbour, the story leads you down a very different path than this film but I look forward to watching The Hunt, it will be interesting to watch a story from the perspective of a man accused.
Great actor. His best work was probably in Pusher 2... Astounding performance. Hopefully he will collaborate at some point with the great Dane Lars Von Trier...
Mads could Narrate the hell out of anything, if he wanted - His Voice has a bass tone with a Zen vibration of, "Ahhh!"💙
He is by far one of the most magnificent actors I have ever had the privilege of seeing. Simply mesmerizing, trying to watch all his movies!!! Love him!!
Absolutely 100% agree also he's so pretty 😭🥰✨
Hopelessly enamored with this beautiful man. Smart and charming as well. Thank you for posting!

@@fuckem187 agree. irl we have the culture of believing in the victim always until it's proved otherwise. not to mention it's a child.

Mads Mikkelsen's career exploded into major stardom following his role as Duncan Vizla, also known as The Black Kaiser in Polar.
I Love This Man!

Really cool guy. Nice interview. Wish it went longer though.

AV wasn't in Toronto... working. She is a high priority. She is magnificent/scene-stealing in Anna Karenina as well.
Esse ator é um ESPETÁCULO.. e bonito também
