Yesterday, @FlyingPringleJJ dropped the much anticipated 'Project Tiger Moth: The Good Old Days'. This was a fan made episode produced in the style of 'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' series five. Did it live up to the hype? Find out in this spoiler review!

This special also finally patches up a plot hole that was first introduced in Series 5 and continued into the rest of the show. Recall that Toby's old line was originally closed back in his debut episode in Series 1. But then, it's suddenly back and open for business in Series 5 with little-to-no explanation. For years, fans rationalized that the old shed and station that Oliver crashed into in the Series 5 episode "Oliver's Find" was Toby's old line, and this special capitalizes on that idea wholeheartedly, essentially making "The Good Old Days" a sequel to "Oliver's Find".
What's more, by having Sir Toptham Hatt mention that Toby's line will serve as an extended connection between the main line and Thomas's branch line, that also ties in with both the Series 6 episode "Toby Had a Little Lamb" (in which Toby used his old line to reach Farmer McColl's farm on Thomas's branch line) and certain episodes of the HiT model era that showed a line of tracks running further behind Toby's shed when there originally were no such tracks seen back there in either "Toby and the Stout Gentleman" or "Oliver's Find". So much brilliant world-building and continuity-melding with just a single line of dialogue.

Okay, some when you bring up those images of Gordon and toad, and Henry and Percy, I was thinking the same thing, and another thing I'd like to add, when reading the title it uses the word 'Pilot' and for tv shows that usually means it's to pitch the show to networks, but in the context of project tiger moth, it could mean this isn't the last project we'll see from the people who worked on the good old days.

Great review man. Very well articulated. I loved it too. I couldn't believe the accuracy of the shots, and models. The sets were put together with effort, hard work, and care. The story was written well. It wasn't too harsh in regards to crashes yet the mini runaway that Toby did have with the trucks didn't take away from the relaxing warm, and gentle vibes to this episode. The guys at Project Tiger Moth not only handled this classic era project with love, and care, but they respected it. Its everything I'd expect from the classic era of Thomas. Now yes my only criticism is the narration. As someone who primarily watched the UK dubs with Starr, and Angelis I'd have much rather they recorded a UK dub as well. Something to keep us Brits happy. But I agree that no doubt a UK dub will be made, and with the narration being my only criticism I loved it! With It being labeled a pilot surely that means there's more to come? If so I cannot wait. The good days are here to stay indeed man. Peep peep 😊
