The relationship between Juno and her Dad, plus the total commitment of her family to not destroying her life because she got pregnant, made the film for me. Ellen is is a great actress. She certainly deserved the award.
Ellie in the Last of Us is not Ellen Page... She is in another vid game called Beyond Two Souls as Jodie Holmes!! Geez ppl keep saying that she is Ellie, no wonder she got mad with NaughtuyDog
I don’t care if she was a lesbian or what but it’s kinda sad that she turned from this to “Elliot” thing, no one was there to point out her mistakes because of this progressive media, it sucks.
@@comprehensive6952 HE didn't turn this into anything. It's not some sort of 'thing' just cuz he felt brave enough to share his gender identity on insta. This is about him feeling comfortable in his own skin and authentically being himself now. You just can't seem to comprehend that this isn't about you or about the fucking media. Elliot didn't do this for attention or praise.
she is GORGEOUS, and oscars are awarded on merit of the film in hand. lifetime achievement awards are for those people who hit home runs again and again, so she is totally justified in getting an oscar for her performance in juno.
Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE Ellen Page. I Really do. But she has not deserved an oscar yet, in my mind. Juno was a great heartfelt movie. But it wasn't mindblowing. Still, she's one of the most talented actresses of her generation.
Ellen Page... damn attractive, also a versatile actress, unfortunately quite liberal but that's Hollywood for ya, I've seen worse. (And no, I'm not a homophobe, live and let live, right?)
Any actor/actress NOMINATED for an Academy Award is a WIN. Do the math. Every year there are HUNDREDS, thousands? of movies made in the world and thousands of actors/actresses in those movies. Each year a SELECT few are nominated as being the best. Ellen Page at 20 (now 21) years of age and starring in low budget movie that made much more money than all the BEST PICTURE nominees ($140 million and still counting) is a winner in my book and especially the Producers book. Go Ellen!!
One scene in particular in Juno was very real to me. After she selected the adoptive parents for her baby, the adoptive father eventually backs out and all her hopes and plans for her unborn child came crashing down around her. She leaves their house upset and is driving and pulls over to the side of the road and she just sobs, touching her pregnant belly, and she's completely devastated. It was an amazingly acted scene and seemed very real. That scene alone was Oscar worthy.
God blessed girl...i wish i ll meet her one day in the future..... so cute that makes you fell soo great about life...i have her in wallpaper on my desktop and i just can't stop looking at her.. Greece loves you Ellen!!!
ok guys ! I've edited the description. I was just JOKING, and i'm french so I'm very glad that a french actress won. And of course Marion Cotillard deserves that oscar ;) Cheers
@markeithmm89 lol i think im being biased coz i totally love her but i do think she is totally different in acting wise and social wise to ur average celeb and that will bring about a whole new thing like be what u wanna be yet do what u wanna do....;-)
Did Elliot had dysphoria in this moment from wearing a dress and just had to fake his smile? And did he even mentioned this Oscar event in his recent memoir or not? And I'm surprised that recently not so many people came here to support him as a non-binary trans man. I wonder if Elliot still holds some respect for his past and a majority of his career, aside from dysphoric moments and being perceived as a woman (and maybe his deadname still has some meaning to him that isn't inner pain - but only he knows the best about himself). Glad to him to live as he wants now, but a little sad that he deleted his pre-transition photos from his Instagram - we shouldn't bury and erase our past selves in order to be happy now.
I read his memoir back in June, and I remember he did mention it as it was the first very 'big' awards event up until that point, but I remember he talked more about the time right before and while filming Juno, I guess because he hadn't talked about it a lot in interviews and assumed people didn't want to buy a book full of stuff they'd heard already. I think now that it's a few years since he began transitioning, it's a bit easier for him to look at a poster or clip from an older movie with him and not be upset. According to him it got really bad around 2019 because it had just been building up for years and he was no longer able to even look at himself in the mirror, and probably had to be dissociated to some degree 24/7. But that was because he couldn't physically see himself at all. Now he can, so he's probably reassured when he sees an old photo that that doesn't have to be him anymore (does that make sense?) Also, about his deadname - I think he's been able to remove some of the power it initially had over him. He refers to it in his memoir over a dozen times, usually quoting or paraphrasing someone else from the past. Also, I don't think the deleting pictures from instagram thing is that unusual. People do that after they split up from their partners, and even if the break up was amicable, it doesn't reflect well to have them up still in a new relationship. And it's not like he's unaware that those photos will forever remain on the Internet in other places, and is seeking to have them permanently removed, he just doesn't want them in his own personal 'digital space'. But then again, all of his old pre-2020 tweets (with pictures) are still on his current Twitter/X account.
I think we can all see here how difficult it was for "Elliot" Page to being nominated for best actress and to wear a dress. You can really see the pain and the tears on "his" face. That's obvious !
I'm a planet!!! jajajajaja buenísimo, ya me partía el culo cuando vi la peli en castellano pero mola más en ingles, como lo dice, como si le saliera de dentro jajaja es buenísimo!!!!

Marion Cotillard won it, and both Marion and Ellen worked in Inception, I nception has an amazing cast!!

Ellen made Juno like she made Hard Candy --- a great actress with a humble public persona
Honestly, i didn't see anything special about her acting in none of her movies.

Elliott Page

Ellen page
She looked pretty, but when you look so young I think it looks better with a dress that ends above the knees.

The movie also pertains to more than 50% of average teenagers.
She sounds like Gillian Anderson, are they from the same area.
