Idk if anyone else has said it, but unlocking Jera and Perthro and then waiting to unlock the other runes later is a good idea. Whenever runes show up, it'll always be those two, which are infinitely more helpful to earlier runs than some of the other runes.

It doen't work like that. You need at least 6 runes unlocked for useless rune shards to not spawn
