Anyone want to guess where in Italy Rafi will end up? Let's try to piece together some clues.....He visited Sicily and loved it. But he also said there wasn't enough work in the south. He loves authentic small town Italy and he said he doesn't want to live in an expat areas. We know he lives way up north so it has to be south. Any guesses anyone? I am guessing Firenze. Thoughts anyone? -Joe
@@SabraQueenoftheUnderworld1346 that would be barely moving away, and he clearly stated he wanted some less german-influenced place. You gotta at least reach Trento for that, but I think he's going to move to another region altogether. Nothing south of Umbria or Marche anyway, I'm guessing.
@Joe Manginelli ooo interesting, but I have to say it seems like your guess of Florence goes aginst your reasoning, it's a big city and one of the main places that attracts expats. but I have to say again very interesting how you've tried to put the peices of the puzzle together haha
Lunch next to the river is so nice when you get the cool fresh air blowing by, I’ve only done it once since living here but also if you’re not looking for a whole meal you can get just coffee or a fresh juice or a gelato 😜
Hey Rafael! Thank you so much for the amazing and beautiful tour! That river is a bit scary 😲 but the views! And the whale made out of bottles and cans?....
Hey there Sabra, glad you enjoyed the video ^_^ Haha this was one of the reasn why I wished the weather was better, on a normal day the river is pretty calm

Rafi, absolutely loved this video today! Thanks for taking us on the grand tour. I never would have guessed palm trees in northern Italy! Very cool. I for one can't wait to see your new surroundings in and around your new home. You moving is sort of like we are all moving. Thanks for being our eyes and ears! Ciao! -Joe

Lovely Merano. Since it's almost Summer and you're in the North, you could maybe make a video on some of the several amazing hiking paths on the Italian Alps.
Haha this is probably the last time I’ll be hiking in a video however there are a lot of beautiful paths to go on, if you check out a video of mine from a little more than a year ago I put out a video going up into the mountains to have some alpine winter fun if you want to see some more of the mountains :)
The town is quite lovely but it’s time to go whole Italiano. I’m sure they will miss you but it’s good to try other things. I hope and I know this will be an exciting new adventure.
Rafael... I think I am good with my cardio haha after watching you walk /hike up the mountain! I have to say though it's gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍. I wish I had that view outside of where I live. ...🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 And now I'm hungry 😣 O my! Those trees! I'm happy that nobody was seriously hurt
Haha I can't even rewatch this video, I get exhausted just thinking about it haha I'll be sad to be leaving these views behind but I wanted to make sure to record them before leaving.
EAT ALL THE GELATO, IN ALL ITALY - also why aren't you eating frozen yogurt, the one made with Meran yogurt/milk is SO GOOOOOOOOOOD. I'm actually super sad since the yogurteria we had here closed down.
I've actually never noticed a yogurteria here in Merano, I only know of one in Bolzano that opened up last year....and on top I can't say I'm a fan of frozen yogurt haha
Hey Rafy! Thanks for the inspiration that you provide us. I finally made the decision. I am going on a cruise in October that includes Rome, Italy. How should I dress for late October beginning November? Dress wise. Will it be sort of cold, really cold or what?
That’s so awesome Rebecca! I hope you have a great time! If you end up near my area let me know ^_^ Abut how to dress, Autumn is a mixed bag and it really depends where you are. It could be hot or it could be pretty cold, maybe bring layers that you can take on and off. A flexible wardrobe is never a bad idea.
Is this the most Germanic area of Italy? We r looking to settle down in Europe after many yrs of traveling there, mostly to southern Germany. Daughter really want to try italy, I speak German and husband wants the mountains... Merano looks like a perfect starting point
The only german speaking region in the country, however you can find little pockets of german speakers just outside of the region... but still quite close. Also keep in mind while they speak german it’s not “Hoch Deutsch” they speak their own “Südtiroler dialekt” which many native german speakers from Germany find unintelligeable but it does share similarities with Bavarian, very few though. In my opinion, great place to start, but difficult to settle, being accepted as outsiders can be challenging.
Rafael Di Furia Thanks for answering I didn’t think I’d catch you! Yes I’ve been warned about the dialect dilemma, hope I’ll survive ok. Interesting tip on the outsiders, I’m getting used to this response in my own country so that’s up to fate 🤞🏼Thanks RDF, you saved us time on research
The Südtiroler dialect is the same as the southern Austrian ones. It is called southern Austro-Bavarian and very conservative and still very close to old high german in many cases.
I have italian citizenship and am going to canada I live in us, would I be able to go to canada with Italian passport with the rest of my family using their US passports
At minute 28, the tree hit a boy and his mother the day before in the storm. The boy was heavy injured at his head and taken to the hospital by the helicopter.
WHAT?! I never saw that… are you by chance talking about the one military trinket store right by the river in the center? That’s the only place I can imagine that might have, but even that would be tough to imagine….
Yes, they can, but probably they would not be that nice to italian speakers. E.g. I was in Meran two years ago and wanted to go to a public bathroom. At first I thought they were Italians and I therfore talked to them in Italian. They wanted me to pay 5 Euros to use it, but after they found out that I'm Austrian they decided to make it free. Italians are still hated in South-Tyrol as it seems.

Hi Joe! I'm willing to say Bolzano...cost is cheaper....but...hmmm🤔.
I’m guessing Parma. Not too large but charming. Outrageous food and so much more Italian than Alto-Adige. This still keeps him in northern Italy.

I love the Tyrol alpine areas. It reminds me of central Europe. I'm not too much into the "actual" Italy vibe (too hot and loud).
