    Yes. And no. My last iPhone 13 mini battery was charged often and oftenly up to 100%, loaded overnight, stressed with extensively hotspot usage, used while charging and so on. Result: Over 900 cycles with remaining 89 (eighty-nine) percent left... No witchcraft.

      In comparison, for anyone curious, my iPhone 13 Mini is almost always kept between 20%-80%, never charged overnight and I try to take care of the battery as much as possible. Result: 538 cycles with 89% battery health (or 85,74% according to PowerUtil). It's just going to vary between devices. Like you said, no witchcraft, just use your phone the way you want to use it.

    great video!

    You can now also limit the iPhone to stop charging at 80%. Guessing its an update that came out after the video
    Battery > charging optimisation > 80% limit

    It's not luck. My current iPhone 15 Pro max is at "100%" too, in reality it's more like 99 or 98% after 6 months. My last phone, iPhone 11 Pro Max, had it over 3 years and the battery health is at 95%. Charge in small cycles, Keep it between 30-60%, and try to use name brand chargers, and charge it at about 10 Watts. I'm near a charger almost constantly so this doesn't bother me much. I only charge twice from 30 to 60% a day.

    I am using iPhone 11 since 3 1/2 years and have 90% of battery health and more than 1200 cycles, for me i do a overnight charge and 50% of extra charge in the afternoon. I felt improvement when i am doing overnight charge cause it always continues to charge the phone in early mornings. its ok if you charge to 100. It only affects when you hold charge 100% for too long time (I mean months)

    you can get one of those smart wallplugs and create a siri shortcut that tells your wallplug to shut down when battery reaches 80% and enables it when it is at 70% or something

    Since I stopped using fast charging power adapters for my Android and limited the charge to 80%, it only dropped 1% of maximum capacity for the last 3 months in comparison to before it went down 20% in 3 months with fast charging and heat. These days I barely use my phone since I'm at my PC anyway so I leave my phone plugged in to a USB3.0 type-A port of the laptop when not using which charges at 7W and hold at 80%. Once it become a part of the daily routine, I just forget it and don't care at all. I just pick the USB port of the laptop to choose the charging speed :)

    What’s the benefit of having 100 % of the battery capacity if in order to have that you have to keep it at 80 %?

  • @deividhere
    @deividhere Місяць тому

    1:14 I don't think optimized battery charging does that. I don't have it enabled and it still charges slower when it reaches 80%, so I guess that's because of some sort of fast charging. Optimized battery charging, from what I know, tries to learn your charging routines. So if you charge your phone every night and you unplug it at 8AM, at first it will charge only up to 80% and then stop, and at ~7:30AM it will continue charging to make sure you have 100% at 8AM. I leave it disabled because I charge my phone erratically, so it would probably do more harm than good.

    please consider making videos on iphones, I watch every single one of your videos even if I have windows (Most of the shortcuts are the same and also the programs) , but think of it this way, 90% of the users who have mac definitely have iphones, while you can't say the opposite...

  • @iiskyvlogs

    It’s because there are devices that can change battery health. (Battery health /cycle count is fake) in reality, battery doesn’t keep track of health.

      Third party repair shops are abusing this principle to sell you old batteries. (Make the battery look healthier than it actually is) but it ends up leading to premature shutdown of the phone. #antithirdpartyrepair

    You don’t have 100% battery health, this "battery health" tab is useless. Battery can’t be at 100% capacity after 10 months, it’s just physically impossible

  • @ChudDin
    @ChudDin Місяць тому +2

    This is impossible. The second any elecricity whatsoever enters your battery it will immediately start to degrade very slightly. That means that at best the second you get your new phone it's battery health is a t 99% ish. How about you do a few full battery cycles and see what your actual battery health is. Doing a couple of full battery cycles will callibrate the battery health percentage.

    • @everry3357
      @everry3357 Місяць тому +1

      No it's possible it's the same thing with apple macbooks some batteries are actually around 104% when they come out but they are marked as 100% by the systems and all this boils down to luck. Not all batteries are made equal there is always that margin

    It's not at 100 precent, lmao. It's definitely at somewhere around 85-95%. It's just a known issue on iPhone that it doesn't show your true battery cycle count, so there's even a shortcut for finding out your real charge cycles, and battery capacity.
