I love how it STARTS with Mario throwing him off the cliff, no buildup. Straight to the chase, all of us can relate.
This implies the Penguin has Wario's power.
It simply refused to die, therefore it didn't.
it was only when it wanted to die that it was able to.
How can you be sure the penguin died, personally I think the animation didn't go on long enough for him to revive, it would appear the end was going in slow motion.

I'm actually kinda surprised this isn't a theatrical short. This feels like something they would play before a movie. Then again, I feel like Miyamoto probably wouldn't approve of a short that makes Mario look like a child abuser.

It took Mario to see the Penguin off himself to realize how messed up this whole situation was
Mario’s basically doing his job as a zookeeper. Making sure the penguins get their swim in the icy pool.
I want to say I LOVE the animation. It's so bouncy and fluid and the expressions are so well done. I've seen no one point out how in the end bit you can kinda hear 1-1 line up with the Bullet Bill. Really nice touch.

I can honestly say I never dropped the penguin off the cliff. I'm too much of an animal lover. So instead, I would save BOTH babies by bringing them to the mom. Even though the one baby wasn't hers, I felt better knowing she could at least watch over it. It was sad just leaving it without an adult nearby.

Why would Nintendo do that? With the current one they just threw a hundred million dollars at Illumination and had them make something the Americans will watch. They don't seem to care about the quality of the movie, as Americans are easy to please, and it shows. If @GearBills produced everything entirely by himself he perhaps could convince them to use it in the movie theaters, but he would be horribly underpaid for the work he did, since Nintendo doesn't give a crud about what they give to us Americans, especially where Mario is concerned. If he really wanted to try making it big with Nintendo, he should start using Link meshes instead, as his work is worth more than what Nintendo would give for another Mario movie.

Tell David that some rando on the internet (AKA me, lol 😆) really appreciates his sound design in this project too! 😁 All the orchestral emphasis on Mario's movements reminiscent of old Warner Bros. cartoons- that subtle Mario Bros. theme on the Pizzicato Strings at 1:23- the pitch shifts on the baby's squawking to make it sound like it was screaming (0:37) or confused (0:30)- the whole thing put together *_is magnificent!_* 🥰

I’m a rookie animator myself, so I notice every bouncy element, every eye twitching, the movement paste and weight. All just feels right and satisfying here. I especially love how you use Mario’s mustache to show his emotions and character. You show that Mario doesent need a mouth tho convey emotions, the pupils and mustache (and obviously the brows and body language ) are more than enough.
