You’re absolutely right! I’ve noticed that there are two different groups of audiences. Some seem to prefer a condensed, entertaining video focusing on just the visual aspect of fans. On the other hand, the folks who truly appreciate fans, including myself, want to hear the raw audio of the fans. I think you (and many others) will enjoy the No Music Edition that I’ll post soon. It shows off start-up sounds in all their glory!
Amazing collection! You have so many nice instances that represent so many eras. Looks like we share an interest in quite a few models. It was interesting to see the old all-metal ones, I haven't seen very many of the Canadian models before. I still can't believe how thick the guards are on the Lasko/Galaxy oscillating fans and box fans, seems like more than twice the slats on the ones here in the US. I don't see how any air gets through those!
Thanks! I can definitely see our common interests in certain fan models. Even after all these years, even I can’t get over how closely spaced the grilles are on many fans lol. It was some crazy safety standard that was in place in the late-70s to the mid-90s here in Canada. They still manage to push a good amount of air through them but they’re definitely less powerful and slightly noisier than the normal American versions.
Good job on the video I enjoyed it And this year has been great for fans because i'm starting to collect vintage fans and I'm starting to move away from big box stores and go to thrift and antique stores and I got 20 fans in total for this year which is impressive for me and happy new year!
@@TheSuperFanMan Thanks and a funny story is that a few days ago I watched your video on the 1998 duracraft desk fan the dt-750 well a day after that I went to a thrift store and I found a 1998 duracraft dt-750 in blue and I was astonished and was surprised to see one after I watched your video. Hang on I can just watch one of your videos and then a day later I can go to a thrift store and find that exact same model and date! I just broke the system wow. lol
Thank you! Happy to hear your family enjoyed it. I lightly cleaned up the Duracraft to make it more presentable for this video. It still needs a thorough cleaning so I plan on making more videos on it in the near future!

Oh boy that’s a tough question lol. I can’t decide on one fan, so I’ll list my top three. 1970s 12” Mastercraft, 1998 Patton, 1973 Electrohome box fan.
Only just getting around to watching this now, this just gets more and more impressive with each year. My favorites are all the Supers and those 4-bladed ones around the 7 minute mark. Have you ever thought about importing an SMC fan from the states since they're essentially the same? It would be kind of neat to see a random SMC branded fan in the midst of all the Super ones lol.
Thanks man! I actually have thought about getting an SMC badged fan but so far I haven’t seen a single one on eBay. I imagine it would have a crazy price tag if one does get listed lol. But who knows? Perhaps I’ll stumble across one for a decent price or maybe even locally someday.
I’m in Canada! A lot vintage fans here were rebadged versions of imported fans, so a lot of them probably have brand names that aren’t familiar to people outside of Canada.
I have a fan that is very similar to yours except mine is a 3 speed with a knob. What it doesn’t have and you bought one is that brass screw for the oscillation to work can you share the info on where I can buy one looks like my catalog number is78x233. Your video is very well done and if I take it apart I will watch your video again greatly detail I was wondering as far as the oscillation go there are 3 holes any particular one for a good movement and do you tighten the brass screw on top for no motion or in loosen it for motion
Thank you! I’m assuming you’re referring to the three restoration videos I made of the 49X929? The brass screw was purchased from AntiqueFanParts. antiquefanparts.com/brass-shoulder-screw-for-arm-to-wheel-ge-vortalex-12-16/ This is the one I got. You might want to reach out to them to make sure which screw will fit the 78X233, though I’m pretty sure the one I got will also fit your’s. I like to use the outermost hole of the three, as it gives the widest angle of oscillation. The inner holes can be useful if you just need it to oscillate within a smaller angle. It’s all personal preference. The top screw is tightened to make the fan oscillate, and loosened to disengage it. Further turning the knob counterclockwise after disengaging the oscillator will tighten it again, but this time, it’ll lock the fan head in place to prevent it from drifting left or right. Hope it helps!
I am planning to do a collection video for 2021 of my fans where the filming spot will be the same because it's where I have plenty of space indoors. It's going to be different because there have been fans that I sold, but new fans added to my collection.
One thing I want to point out is that Home Depot Canada started selling the Hunter Allendale for a much cheaper price then Canadian Tire did because Canadian Tire sold them for $190 and Home Depot started selling them recently and their only $110 and they only sell them in brushed nickel, I would prefer getting one in bronze but brushed nickel isn’t bad and since your more into Hunter ceiling fans I thought I should point it out to you.
It is currently disassembled and back in its box. Our family uses the basement bedroom sometimes so we needed a fan with a light kit. The Holden is currently there now.
I was at a value village and I saw a mistral gyro aire rotating grill box fan I was gonna get it but then I saw the cord was a European one weird to see at a Canadian store
