I think I know the girl this songs about! Does she have long purple liberty spikes? Always wears a leather jacket? Pretty sure she had a British flag on her purse and I think she was english due to the accent and the fact she kept saying “bloody terrif”. She was at the nofx show last night going on about the sex pistols beating the ramones by a year... but anyone who cared who started punk is a poser anyway. I agreed that Sid Vicous is a bad ass regardless and she asked who the fuck I was talking about and slapped me for thinking Johnny Rotten wasn't the singer for the pistols. Im glad I met her though cause now I know the clash is just a company that makes bondage pants for hot topic...and Joe Strummer's just that dude from the subway commercials. Anyway, Anarchy in the UK!
and guitarist, songwriter. mother fucker WAS the band, paul and mick were just there cause he couldnt do everything haha. but paul mick and topper are great too
I love this song, except I just simply don't agree with the part about the boyband songs, that means nothing. Some of the most punk guys I know don't even look punk. It is an attitude and ideology , not a fucking look or list of bands.
Meh. Most people who dress punk are literally just in it for the fashion. It's kind of odd to act like you give no fucks about anything but spend several hours on your hair and uniform before a show.
Come on. If Britney Spears recorded a song about Aretha Franklin and claimed her own music was in a soul category, wouldn't you expect a ton of Aretha and soul fans to say "WTF??"? No doubt this band probably plays "Rock The Casbah" way more than they do anything off of the first Clash LP.
And by the way, I hate bubble gum pop bands like this that throw punk references into their music so it gives them a much-needed "edge". This band ain't Green Day, they ain't Rancid, they ain't Nirvana. What they are is Good Charlotte, a band with no balls but pretends like they do and they sit around waiting for that chance to open for The Jonas Brothers.
You know who also has to go? This band, for referencing "Rockin' The Casbah" in a Joe Strummer tribute song. By far the worst piece of disco pop shit The Clash ever recorded. And who's the idiot that slighted Mick and Topper's position in the band? Topper is considered one of the greatest drummers in rock history who brought musical credibility to the band. And Mick provided the melodies, harmonies and musical hooks to every fucking Clash song you and I have sat around humming for the last 33 y
