This video has literally made me want to get into woodworking - I'd rather not spend a thousand dollars on an expensive machine, especially if I'd have to buy it before knowing if I'd even enjoy it. And you've convinced me there must be cheaper alternatives :)
Philip Hello! I am Dinara Kuchadze Designer from Georgia / USA I do not work in this technique I have done decorations and requisites .. I learned a lot from you .. I love you
please be honest. how many hours did this contraption work before it broke ? how many hours did it take to make ? it looks like it works great but. seems like every step of the way was a weak point.
What on earth...? The skills, the presence of mind.. the frugality... and.. and... your work bench... is also your ping pong table? Are you mad? How could I not subscribe?? It is impossible! I have subbed! I will go lie down now.
Just what I've been looking for. Great instructions. Thank you. What a beautiful floor! Broken terrazzo tiles set into terrazzo. I think I'll do that too!
Really speaking this video of making a foot pedal saw with available materials is an eye opener to me.I will try to build such a saw for my hobby work at home. I need certain details about this fabrication :- 1. The blade length I feel the blade and frame you are using seems to be little bigger . Here in our country (India) we have blades (Pin less ones) having length of 15 cms. 2.Further details on the fixture to fit the frame if I get it will be of immense help to me. Really a nice video. Thanks and regards.
you are awesome man!!! the worst scrollsaw on market cost about 100€ and you with 4 recicled table do the job! and without power consuming! today people are lazy minded focused only on consumism, maybe buy an electric scrollsaw and don't use it! sistem you are using(foot + flexible wood) was used for centuries by woodworkers for use the lathe... if you see pre electicity furnitures is 1000000 times better than modern! this give a serious lesson to people that have only money to buy tools!
If they ever make an episode of Survivor using a garbage dump as a location, I want to be on your team. I'm thinking that within a week, with the right team, you could create a fully industrialized society.
Well, why not yourself? Lol I built one too. Got to admit, its pretty basic. 😊 Granted, I couldn't come up with this but it's something my son's and grandsons will appreciate.
hey cave man, today i have done the foot operated scroll saw, it took me max 2 hours to be done, and i want to thank you so much for that amazing idea, it just worked precisely. and i made the half of the mini wood lathe, because i need the shaft, i made shoping like you, but it did not work it looks poor area around here. thank you again cheers....
Philip, eres tremendo artesano..te felicito....you are a great artcraftmen..congrat ..I enjoy tour vídeo a lot...I wrote some words in spanish because I saw that you hace been un colombia..I from venezuela
I've thrown out better wood than what you have used in your construction, your tools look nothing special and your measuring leaves a lot to be desired. Yet you've built something fantastic. I give up! Ps nice music choice.
Thanks for this. I just found your videos. After watching your wood lathe video, I was hoping you had a video on the scroll saw. Great job. I look forward to more. You are really creative!
nous sommes obligés de vous remercie, vous êtes un exemple, vous êtes très généreux ... tes idées sont géniales...le moindre coût ... c'est vraiment qu'on est besoin... merci infiniment
Thanks very much Philip. Your ingenuity and methods had me reminiscing of the hours and days I spent as a youth tinkering in my Dad's shed using what was at hand to create something to do a job or solve a problem.
You may be able to improve on this design, but the basics are there to think about. I cut a whole parquet floor with a world map once, using this setup.
@@PhilipStephens007 well I made one! It works great, except I didn't cut my handle piece right lol. Have had to stop on it for a bit but will get back to it. I used bungee chord because my space is limited and happen have them. I learned a lot from your video and again, thank you! And yes, it would be enjoyable to add my personal touch and such to the basic design you provided.

Now that is some amazing ingenuity. It's not the best built, but I love how you improvise and get the job done!

I like your projects.
This in particular will try it soon.
Thanks for the idea
I live the way you made this foot operated scroll saw. I really like this because you never know when you won't have electricity.
This is incredible. What a great build solution.
Would you then consider taking the wooden handle off, since it would no longer be really necessary?
With all that magical skill - by all means make yourself another handy tool - a vertical drill press!
very very nice vid!
i just surft at youtube, and found it randomly!
very nice work
Great, absolutely great, some scrap pallet boards into power scroll saw.
great job you fef have great talents keep up the good work
The world needs more people like you, Mr. Stephens. Congratulations for your amazing videos. Greetings from Brazil.
Well, why not yourself? Lol I built one too. Got to admit, its pretty basic. 😊 Granted, I couldn't come up with this but it's something my son's and grandsons will appreciate.
Great idea Philip, I think I'll use some elastic cords,,,,some how...... Thank's for posting.
I'm very happy with your woks ... Very funy and creative ... Please, more ... ~rr*
just a little ingenuity, a couple dollars worth of scrap wood, and a common coping saw. pretty good.
I enjoyed this very much. Thank you - great idea! Funny using an electric drill though... ;-)
Hi scrap plus imagination equals genius,, subscribed

Now that you've made this make parts for a better one.
Well thanks for that Heath....Sorry..... Mr. Robinson.
Good idea.. but, fastly n' easily are to play roles quitely here. I think I have to use the driver!
you don't precise but how is the depth of the saw ?
You are the master recycler! A beautifully engineered tool. People so easily forget how things were done before electricity.
Great video. I admire your make-do attitude.
I love this, very inspirational
you just opened the hearts and mind of every little boy with projects in his mind... forever
Wow. Pardon the joke... but reduce reuse recycle. Philip thanks bud.

Thank you so much for your videos!
I really admire your approach and what you have created with things other people see no value in. Best wishes to you friend.
Thank you so much PhilipStephens007, I cant afford a electric saw, and this is the perfect setup for me. was looking for this years. Thank yo so much.
i have that same tap measure, and I love it. Takes a few days to get used to it but its far superior to most smaller tap's.
