He cant write a bad song. Its not possible. To have a voice and a spirit that touches so many people. Its truly special.
My bf and I were singing this song while we bicycled with one hand on the handle of the bike, and one hand locked together with each other's. It was cold winter, and my lips were chapping. My breath was showing and so was his, like smoke. I was trying to catch my breath while singing. I had a hoodie that was so long my eyes were almost obscured whilst he had the warmest hands in the whole world. He was not in the right note, but we kept singing and I knew then (just as I knew before when I had an epiphany) that everything will be alright and that I will spend the rest of my life with him. This is our song and will be played in our wedding. :")

Was playing this song and my boss walked in asking "what gay ass song am I listening to?" ...I was offended by his comment. Lol, He doesn't appreciate good music. This song has a lot of meaning behind it and it brings peaceful thoughts. As do many of Vance Joy's songs. This comment made me feel less awkward for enjoying this song. I thought maybe it was not a song I should like due to my bosses comments about the song. But this comment has confirmed he was just being a jerk. Actual people with a heart and mind, Enjoy such a song. I hope you do play it at your wedding. This is a perfect song for that kind of theme. Congrats on your happiness.

Recently, because of the virus travel bans have been given to my country. You gotta understand that my husband and I grew up from the opposite side of the world. He is from Europe and I am from Asia.
We travelled to Europe to support his mother who had cancer. We never knew the travel ban would get this worse that even the spouses of the citizen of my country cannot enter.
Now, my husband can't come inside my country even if he is married to me. We built a home, dogs, chickens, a whole farm in my county. We built a family in our home. Now, we are staying in his country. Although we are safe and have a good house to stay in, we miss our farm and our family with our dogs and chicken... My visa is going to expire in his country.... and I'm afraid I must go back to my own country.... and we will be separated.
This song makes me believe that our love is stronger than the pandemic. We are affected, but we still got each other.... for now. I'll enjoy every bit of him while we still have time, and if I have to go home I will take every love that I have and remember the moments we had together...

THIS ALBUM IS PERFECTION
This song for me is the best on the album, the lyrics, I can relate to in many different ways. I would absolutely love to know where the lyrics come from!? The softness and light violin in the back ground gives it that powerful kick which in my opinion makes this song it stand out from the rest. I really hope there is a live version done such as the live ones for “Like Gold” and “We’re going home” that was done recently, unfortunately I’ve not been able to get tickets for your upcoming show which I’m very gutted about but would love for this to be recorded live.
