The problem is this entire city is centrally planned from the bottom up by the government and it's funded by oil money. Every country, or even most countries, don't have this sort of wealth to fund such massive new projects.

Seems like a great model for the rest of the world. The problem is this city was able to be created through the massive wealth the government has from oil profits. Most countries don't have those sort of funds to build such massive new projects...nor will anyone in the future when we're no longer relying so much on oil.

Honestly, it's sad because instead of starting to fix the issues therefrom railways and transportation, America wouldn't even want AD to build this in the US, even though the dream in UAE is to help make all the world cleaner, not just UAE, we started building in other countries to help in sustainable energy too. But America doesn't want the best for its people. Thats why they dont want to even allow our airplanes there, they know it will make their own airlines lose because of that. IT's quite dumb they dont want anyone to improve their country or ask for help like other Eroupian or asian countries did. UAE wouldnt say no. Even if they asked us to share our knowledge with them to improve their airways and clean energy infrastructure. WE don't think of us we think of the world as a whole. Because it's our home. And we share that home. And we want everyone to breathe cleaner air and eat better food.

The amount of power religion still have in politics is the only thing holding them back but with the new generation that has better education and is more open minded compared to previous ones I won't be surprised if they make it happen sooner than later. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilised society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human being to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.
