    SIJO STEVE MUHAMMAD is one of the Great Men that have inspired me in Great Ways! The rare moments I have spent with him, spoken on the phone, watched his documentaries makes me realize more as I have said about Men of his caliber,.. need to make a Great Movie about them and Our Story about Black Martial Arts Heroes like them! Why are We waiting for anyone to tell our stories? Let US unite and do this in 2014! This is ONE OF THE GREATS that still lives! Gonna call him now..AS SALAAM ALAYKUM SIJO. Thanks for welcoming into your home and showing me rare things.

      Br Hajji I also owe a lot to Master Steve, I came up in the heyday of the black martial arts revolution.
      All of us should practice some art. I had the fortune to meet Bruce at Black Belt Magazine in the 60's, I went to elementry school a few blocks from there.
      I will put it in my book one day.

      It has been a long long time since i have trained, but i will say, it had done nothing but helped me. Not just on the streets but, in having the inner strenth to beat cancer. The doctors also told me if i wasn't in such solid condition, i would not have been ablt to take the experimental treatment.
      the training that i recieved during my youth, the Army, and just being a field NAGA works.

      Maybe the ignorant do not want to be aware of what is real, but those who seek the truth understand they must look at everything as it is. The main problem I see is people are looking at this with tunnel vision, it's not a matter of ones skin color but ones skill, tactics, way of life, and way of fighting.

    • @michaelangel25
      @michaelangel25 6 років тому +3

      Nothing to do with skin colour, I saw Steve Sanders fights, the man was trash. His fights were nothing but a sloppy mess. He couldn't land clean strikes, nor could he defend against them. As much as I - a white guy - liked Jim Kelly, his fights were also a sloppy mess. But I don't just limit that to black fighters of the same era, because Joe Lewis and other white fighters of the day, also fought very sloppy. The only way Joe Lewis was able to win a fight was 1. Having a hard chin 2. Landing a lucky haymaker. None of them were a patch on Lee because they were indoctrinated by style; style is limited, thus cannot deal with what Lee termed 'the what is'. Yes, it's true that Lee thought the world of many boxers (black and white), but it was largely slick boxing footwork he thought was so great.

    Black entitlement: I'm as sloppy as shit, but I'm black, so I deserve to be praised by the Martial Arts community!

    This should have at least a million view. Grand Master Steve Muhammad should be celebrated and known as one of the best martial artist with the fastest hands & feet. Unfortunately for him, he came from a era of hard core racism and he did not have the opportunity to break in the movie industry which was extremely racist at that time. If it was in the late 80's,early 90's. I believe that he would had surpass steven seagal or van damn for sure. With all respect I love Bruce lee (rest in peace). But Bruce lee admit it that the Grand Master had faster hand & feet than him.

    This brotha has good knowledge of fighting skills as you can see when he teaches at the end of the video.
    But with a name like steve muhammad you would think he is a follower of
    the most honourable Elijah Muhammad.
    If he is then he should talk about how he combines his martial arts work with the messengers teachings. If he is not noi then he is still an excellent brotha and i hope we see more brothas like him in our communities to defend our people.
    Peace.

    A lot of his students left him because of the verbal abuse. Chuck norris beat him easy . Jim Kelly said hit him hard once , and he will stand down .
