I don't know why this showed up in my recommended, but I really needed this right now. I was adopted at birth and have gone my whole life without ever really knowing my biological family. Only that I had siblings and a few other minor things that were passed onto me by my biological mother. Well now, after all these years I've found my biological father, and I want to reach out sometime soon. I've been so hesitant to reach out, afraid of things going bad. But this song is what I really needed. To tell me it was going to be okay no matter what happens. I've lived my whole life without any of them, so it can't really get much worse if they don't want me in their lives. Yeah it'll probably hurt. One 12, and the other 6. I video chat with them often and they show me their pokemon cards. But I'm sending them most of mine in response. 😉 I actually came back to this song because I've reached another similar, difficult situation in my life. I'm standing up for myself against my adoptive father for the first time in my life, after a year of not seeing him because I've removed him from my life (I no longer call my adoptive father "dad" or "father/parent". I call him by his first name, "ex-father", or some insult). My biological father made me realize that true fathers don't act like my adoptive father did. He showed me that fathers can be kind, loving, curious, and overall interested in the life and wellbeing of their children. And I'm also here because I'm trying to work up the courage to tell my biological father about everything I've been through. But I've been scared that there will be something he doesn't like hearing and that he'll stop loving me and start acting like my adoptive father does. Or that he'll blame himself for not being there for me (even though he didn't even know I existed until a few months ago), and I don't want to bring him down or hurt him because of the bad things I went through in the past. You can tell all horrible bits and stay calm, cause you probably never gonna see this person again (not quite the case with your dad, but take me for example - you open up before someone you don't know and you're ok with that). And in a big way your real father is still a stranger. So I think you can safely tell him everything and not feel guilty. It can be a good test for him. If he runs away, it will only mean his love isn't as real as you thought it was. And you hardly want to deceive yourself. I mean you're so sure how much he loves you and you believe your judgement. If he runs away, it'll be a good test, cause you don't need hypocrites in your life as well. It's easy to love when everything's good. Try to love when the person in question is still making its way and facing problems, when this person isn't perfect. And forgive my curiosity, but how much does it cost to go see your dad? Don't get me wrong, I'm really curious, cause here I am, living in da biggest country on Earth, not far from Moscow. Do I wanna see the Baikal or the Valley of Geysers in Kamchatka? Hell yeah! But it'll cost more than to travel ABROAD. And abroad is closer and actually has service. So there's a chance I'm never seeing places even in my own country, cause it's ridiculously expensive. This song means so much to me. Once my family was pretty normal and happy, but now my parents are divorced and I don't like my dads new girlfriend. My mom had to mom to another town, so I can only see her every third week. My dad and my grandparents fight too, in the middle of all this. It is tough, but guess what? I am trying to stay strong, and I know that just because my parents messed things up, I don't have to make the same mistakes as them :))

This song is based on a story in the Bible. The man’s name was Joseph and he had a very dysfunctional family. His dad had two wives and the story shows how it was a horrible dynamic. Joseph’s mom was the favorite wife and she died. Her two sons were the favorite and the other sons hated them. The dad never apologized for the situation he created and blatantly continued to favor Joseph and his full brother. The half brothers got bitter and would make fun of him and then one day decided to kill him. They end up throwing him in a pit out in the middle of no where and then selling him as a slave. The story continues with more horrible things Joseph goes through but he keeps praying to God and trying to make healthy and right choices. It’s an amazing story I would encourage you to google the story of Joseph in the Bible.

My mom had to mom to another town, so I can only see her every third week. My dad and my grandparents fight too, in the middle of all this. It is tough, but guess what? I am trying to stay strong, and I know that just because my parents messed things up, I don't have to make the same mistakes as them :))

Found this video on Draco Malfoys character study and it was a seriously well composed video . If you're into HP (especially draco) I suggest you watch it. So I listened to this song and I was like wow. Even in my brokenness and pain, God told me through this song He loves me and is taking care of me and will make a way. How cool is God! the meaning of the song is you are you and you don't have to be what your family wants you to be and Draco Malfoy and Sirius Black are good examples of what that is and that you don't have to do what your father or mother or anyone else in your family does for them to love you. Yeah in Harry Potter Sirius got disowned by his family for doing that and Draco was afraid to do what Sirius did but they both reflect the meaning of the song

Ugh, they may have used this song for some vampire show but that was not why it was written. This is a song about how having Jesus in your life can prevent you from making the same mistakes in your life as your parents, and do things the way He would want you to, in other words you are not doomed to a messed up life just because of your family and their decisions! So this song goes way deeper than a fictional vampire tv show
Who cares? It fit the show, and it's a good song even for non believers. People listen to it for all different reasons because it can apply to a lot of situations.

This song is based on a story in the Bible. The man’s name was Joseph and he had a very dysfunctional family. His dad had two wives and the story shows how it was a horrible dynamic. Joseph’s mom was the favorite wife and she died. Her two sons were the favorite and the other sons hated them. The dad never apologized for the situation he created and blatantly continued to favor Joseph and his full brother. The half brothers got bitter and would make fun of him and then one day decided to kill him. They end up throwing him in a pit out in the middle of no where and then selling him as a slave.
The story continues with more horrible things Joseph goes through but he keeps praying to God and trying to make healthy and right choices. It’s an amazing story I would encourage you to google the story of Joseph in the Bible.
