I was there watching it. Eric Spangler in the 27 drove over the nose of Greg Gokey. The crowd cheered because Spangler races everyone rough and is a real ass about it.

I wish they had never messed with the half mile high banks at Owosso Speedway. Some great Late Model, Sprint Car, and Supermodified racing there in the 70’s and 80’s.

That always impressed me at my home track too, where the announcer just let's the fans make up their own narrative, as he's speechless or gone mute, one or the other. I mean a LITTLE information, crowd direction to avoid the fence, or SOMETHING. Instead, NADA.

the 1 (Greg Gokey) had the position going into the turn. The 27(Eric Spangler) had a run and tried to stuff it in under him and shove Gokey out of the spot by dooring him super hard. But instead Spanglers Right front tire hit the left front of Gokey and it picked up Spanglers car and the car climbed over and on top of the 1's hood. Gokey just got out of his car and started hitting spangler's door because it was about the 7th or 8th time in a couple years that spangler had made unnecessary contact with him. Sorry it's 2 years after your comment, but as someone that was there on the backstretch fence that night, and has been there just about every saturday for 20 years somebody needs to get the record straight. Surprisingly enough last year Eric and Greg had somewhat of a chat and they have a truce now. Havent seen the 27 rough up hardly anyone since.
