I recall when Roddy joined British Caledonian Airways Pipes & Drums: we were a split band - 20 members in Scotland and 20 in SE England, based at Gatwick, and the word quickly got round the southern half about this young 16-year old whizz-kid joining the band - his reputation certainly preceded him ! !
Thank you for this fantastic video, I’m loving every minute of the pipes, the songs and the scenery. My maternal great Grandmother was born in the Isle of Lewis, her name was Annabella MacLeod and I was fortunate to visit her birthplace 11 years ago. I felt a tremendous connection to this beautiful place and hope to make one more visit before I’m too old to travel. I was born in Glasgow but have lived in Australia for a long time; however my heart is always Scottish and keeps pulling me ‘home’ 🏴🇦🇺
