When i was 5 i ran around the stage with them. They were in town my mom and I were there. These men were my musical experience from birth. Legends ineed. Then and now.
I remember when I frist saw them in 1968 in Plainview, TX, Snowball, Mel, same keyboard player. They were fantastic. Will always remember them. Never will be a group like them again.
Good to see Mel, Oscar and Balde together, Los Unicos was one of my favorite groups in the '70's with Tacho & Snowball. Still listen to their music today, never gets old. I had always hoped they'd have a reunion with Tacho & Snowball but it was not to be but these guys sound great. Of course, with Oscar on keyboards and harmonica and Balde on drums, it's like the old days, Nash does a great job on vocals and guitar. Mel, I will always remember him as the skinny long haired mustachioed bass player and leader of Mel Villareal y Los Unicos. Thank you for many years for joy brought to this fan with your music. I will always appreciate Oscar's talent, first time I saw Los Unicos at the Delta Lake Pavilion in Monte Alto, TX, he had an accordion strapped to his chest, surrounded by keyboards and a harmonica in his hand, it was at that time that I learned that beside the great vocals, there was a lot of talent in that group. Once again thank you!
Tacho is My Great-Uncle and I agree. Great memories growing up with their music. They still sound great wish I could *Mi Colonia* on here, definitely a GREAT song written by Tacho
When they came through Az. i got to go to the Calderon Ball Room and sit backstage. One time i rode on their bus from Tex after my grandpas funeral...thank you for the lifetime of memories Oscar and Mel. And Tacho wherever you may be and Guerro R. I. P.
Like being at the Mercedes Live Stock Show in 1970 watching Los Unicos Balde, Mel, Snowball (RIP), Tacho, & Oscar giving us joy while the Vietnam War was raging. TEJANO FOREVER. "A rock steady tempo only Wally and Balde Munoz have on drums !!!!!
