I appreciate that you didn’t just play these in a boring fashion, but instead showed us how you can elevate even these seemingly simple pieces to be very musical
I totally agree with the above comment. That's also something I have always appreciated about the teaching videos for the first grades of the CGC curriculum.@@ClassicalGuitarCorner
Excellence and generosity is always outpouring from CGC. How lucky we classical guitar aficionados are to have the rich online resoure readily available.
A Lesson to us all seemingly simple music played well with exquisite phrasing, tonal variation, sensitivity and so much more, rather than difficult music played ...... Thanks
What a wonderful collection of pieces, and in such a high quality edition! Thank you so much for making it available for free. I could play music like this for hours.
I completely agree with the above comment. I have been playing guitar on and off for 40 years, but I wanted to return to classical guitar, which I started with at the age of 14, and start afresh. For the returner, this is such a good help, with many well-known and well-loved pieces that I used to play 40 years ago in my first year (and last year) of classical guitar lessons. And thank you so much for making it available for free, you're terrific!@@ClassicalGuitarCorner
Stumbled across this on Facebook. Long term guitar player but never really worked at classical guitar This collection has inspired me to knuckle down. Just found this video to accompany the book. Even better. Thank you so much.
I just come across your youtube channel today and want to say thanks for the free tutorials and pdfs!! Thanks for having this in tabs! I'm a total beginner and can follow tabs but the past 2 weeks I have been self-learning how to sight read. I hope I can stick to my routine so I can convince myself to join your academy!!! This is soo gooood!!!!
Update: i'm so happy that I can play 15 of the pieces from this book. Been playing and learning almost everyday. 😊 my current favorites are ejercicio 8 and allegro by Giuliani. 😍
Such a joy and pleasure to watch and listen to you playing Simon. After completing Grade 3 with CGCA, April 2021, my guitar journey came to a bit of a halt, life happenings. Thank you for sharing this video and your generous offer of the free book. Even though I have the CGCA Grade 1-8 pieces and technical books I have downloaded this PDF, feeling it may be a way to ease back in to playing. Thanks again and best wishes for all you are doing. 🌺🎶
Thanks for posting. I am going to use this for site reading practice and pass on anything I can to those students that I get who want to learn classical guitar
This is just fantastic. Beautiful pieces that you don't have to be a Simon Powis to get start getting your arms around. A great collection that is so worth learning!
What a gift, thank you for making this available Simon. It’s wonderful, especially the way you’ve arranged the pieces into sets. How encouraging to see that a beginner has a full concert of great music available.
So well done! Thank you! Absolutely love your musicality! Full of colors and passion. I hadn't seen this guitar before. Who's the Luthier? Beautiful tone and colors
Огромное Вам спасибо за замечательное представление и возможность свободного доступа к нотам этих простых, но очень красивых пьес !!! Обязательно поделюсь с друзьями. Пусть Бог благословит Вас !
SINCERE APOLOGIES! I hit the wrong (downging) thumb on my first attempt to rate this video - and that despite my recent hard work on R-hand coordination! I hope I've managed to correct in time. I think this collection of relatively simple pieces, beautifully played to show their full potential, is a wonderful idea. As just a grade 2-3 player I cannot look at a score and 'hear' what it may sound like ... and when I start to play it I soon discover the difficulties awaiting me but still cannot imagine the possible rewards if I put in the necessary work. After both seeing and hearing the piece, played and filmed so well, I can far better assess the possibilities for me (How much do I enjoy it? Is it too difficult for me at my stage?). Several of the pieces I have come across before and it's a pleasure to meet them again but the Aguado Ejercicio 8 I'm hearing for the first time and it's a revelation - I must stop typing and download the score immediately! Classical Guitar Corner is brilliant.
Should one try to learn the grade 1 pieces first, and then proceed to grade 2 and finally grade 3? Or are all the pieces close enough in difficulty level that they can be learned in order as presented?
Taking a structured approach to learning where you build up your techniques and musicality step by step will be the best way to progress. The same is true of repertoire, and so, yes, we recommend taking a step-by-step approach and working through the pieces in order if your goal is to make steady and careful progress. However, the goal of this collection was simply to provide fun and beautiful music to play that is also on the easier side. So don't feel stuck in place if you really want to try something later in the book. Have fun with it!
Beautifully played pieces by the virtuoso Simon Powis! Thanks for these lovely recordings. Perhaps the word "Easy" should be removed from the description. Perhaps others find them easy to play, but I find even the simpler pieces very difficult to play. I can only play the simpler arrangements poorly. The more complex ones, I can't play at all.

Thank you! That is something that is really important for us: even simple pieces can be beautiful with care. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for the nice comment, Marie!
Beautiful musicality! A piece need not be "difficult" to be beautiful. Thank you for making these available.

Fantastic! You have inspired me to play simple pieces really well, and not just struggle with difficult ones.

Thanks a lot for sharing the joy of playing classical guitar
Thank you, so glad you enjoy this video!
Thank you
Some of these pieces sound advanced, althogh they don't have a crazy notation. Thanks for being easy to find.
Lovely, thank you.
Thank you -- glad you enjoyed it!

Beautiful...what type of guitar support are you using?
