Inside a Ukrainian soldier's UK-supplied kit bag

- Ukrainian soldiers who have been training in the UK receive dozens of pieces of kit and equipment from the Armed Forces, everything from winter clothing to webbing.
Each person who goes through training as part of Operation Interflex receives up to 70 pieces of military equipment, covering their basic training needs - and those of the frontline back in Ukraine.

Some decent kit in there. Not sure about the choice of background music given the subject matter!
My thoughts exactly, sounds like mario party lol
The music is awful.
Its like music from that old show MTV Cribs, where a celebrity shows off their house.
It is some decent kit as you said, could be much better but times are desperate
The whole thing is a clown show so very fitting. Lol
Looks like good kit. Beats the hell out of my initial issue in 1978!
I got KF shirts and Super itchy and socks super itchy back in 78
@@richardevans3084 good old WW2 surplus battledress trousers!
And mine in 2007 😂
The kit is not uk kit, apart from a few items ( boots, helmet ?) the cam pattern is not mtp and so it looks as if everything is part of a separate contract. Be interesting to see the weopons we sending..
The Ukrainian’s are getting some high-speed, low-drag kit! The Med-kit is what really caught my eye and the thermal undergarments.
The russians are luck if they get a tampon and a piece of rubber as a med kit,a large amount of their wounded die.
We could only dream of having kit like that back in the 70s
My dream was being able to ditch the patt 38 webbing we had to lug around lol
The med kit has come on a tad since I was in the British Army in the 70s, at that time it was one field dressing....thats it!.
Thank you so so much, people of Britain! Your support for us is immeasurable!

Good to see the Brits beefing up and sustaining aid, when it looks like other major players are beginning to wilt and become flakey
Looks to be a mix of UK, Norwegian and commercially off the shelf kit. Presumably Norway who are participating in providing training to Ukrainian troops in the UK are also supplying part of the kit uplift.
You're just encouraging good men to go to their deaths for no good reason. The quality of the Russian optics and surveillance systems has completely reshaped the battle fields. It's like WWI. The soldiers tactics have not caught up with new technologies and it is an absolute massacre out there. Stop promoting war with Russia!

@@Dnelleb.If that's what it was but considering America is using them to fight their enemy shame others have to pay for their deaths on behalf of some old man miles away. Maybe if America think they're the biggest and the best go to Alaska and fight Russia direct rather than using a small once neutral place that once belonged to the enemy a shorter time ago than isreals existence. Also France ran away in ww2 to rebuild with allies and retake and eventually win against the enemy. You can throw as much money and kit their way but who's going to use it if their all dead?
That's far better than the kit i was issued with when i joined in 1986
It's better kit than we're issued with now.
As a British Citizen it makes me happy to see our Armed forces supporting Ukraine, they need all the help they can get, hopefully what we provide will help them keep their freedom & help keep their people safe from harm ultimately.
ahahahahahahahahah British support and freedom .really ????????how do you support them by sending them to get killed for your interests .......... Poor Ukrainians the British and the US got you in a blood bath stay away from them
A lot of people seem very proud of this: personally, I am not so sure it is the right decision. Firstly, we are providing this training, equipment etc so that one non-NATO country can fight another non-NATO country in a war against a country which exhibited no serious aggression towards us. However, Russia is a threat now, a very big one, because it cannot stand back and let us supply weapons and training to its enemies and do nothing forever: it will have no choice but to take military action of some sort to stop it.
@@StevenWJRichards ahahahahahahah refresh my memory when was the last time Nato or UK or USA won a war i know i know Iraq Afghanistan Ukraine The only training NATO is giving to the Ukrainians is fight die and keep it secret
I didn't realise we we're kitting them out when they we're coming over for training but now I've seen this it makes sense I just assumed they were already kitted out when they arrived.really proud of our government and I don't say that often. I just hope all countries helping Ukraine stick with them no matter how long this invasion of their country lasts and they aren't left on their own later on.
Same here.
I'm absolutely disgusted by our government that'd they put this geopolitical farce of a war before their own people while lining their pockets from war profits.

Gotta love our Brit cousins!!! They always have our backs!
I joined the Army in 1978 at the age of 16yrs. This kit looks amazing... Huzzah!! 😊
I joined in 1961 and the best we got issued for summer was KDs - winter was a Korean war era combat suit. In Germany I was issued long knitted white socks , wellington boots and a short version of the Army Greatcoat, a leather jerkin waistcoat thing. I could barely move when climbing in and out of vehicles. I went to the desert and there was no special gear at all! Oh haven't things changed for the better!
desert kit in a green country, ha, ha.
@@sinusnovi3826 The digital camo things are in the Ukrainian-issue pattern, and most of the rest are in the British version of MultiCam. I didn't see any desert camo. If anything, the thing that seemed most out of place was that old temperate DPM plate carrier.
I joined in 2008 and the kit was better then 😂😂😂
2009 we had more kit thrown at us. Not a fair comparison as half of it was unnecessary. E.g combat vest for a 30mm grenade launcher when I wasn't issued with that weapon. Left a lot of it at home.
A massive well done guys, looks like some decent kit there. Probably well received by the troops on the ground.

As an armed prepared citizen in the US I purchase most of my gear. Some of it was gear I had when I served in the military. Basic gear has come along way since the old 782 gear also alot more comfortable and versitle.
Beauty of America is we can have a better kit than most military’s pelvic armor should be a standard for them considering both sides run threw about 10k drones each a month not including the ones that don’t shot down most of those grenades will be hitting below the waist
My only issue was that the music didn't seem to fit the video as well as it could. Great video anyways.

Interested by the 'digicam' - it appears to be identical to the current PCS but simply with another pattern? Is it being made specifically for the Ukrainians or is it something we have stock of but never adopted?
Thats exactly what i was thinking , its extremely intresting to see if the Ukraine digi camo kit is the same as what uniform is issued to us just a different camo , i was issued some of this kit , the black deployment holdall , the fleece norgi , underlayer top , i think the company that makes most of the british armys clothes is called cooneen watts and stone LTD i wonder if they are making ukraine digi camo stuff , because i want some ! 😂
The set of uniforms issued to Ukrainian soldiers during training in the UK is made by Cooneen Defense, the cut is absolutely the same as the British PCS MTP uniform, only the fabric is thicker and has camouflage pattern MM14 of the Ukrainian army. By the way, I saw such a PCS set in the Irish DPM colorway, apparently from surplus fabric from the manufacturer. The 45 L Daysack is a British Army DCC Daysack manufactured by CQC. Given this gear is not in UK multi cam, who provided the gear? Or has the UK actually procured a supply of "non UK identifiable" uniform material and is paying to have this made in addition to the standard UK multi cam supply chain?
Considering how other items donated to Ukraine were sourced. It's most likely that the UK just went shopping for what was available immediately regardless of source. Instead of waiting for existing supply chains to ramp up production.
Look at artillery ammo for example the UK alone has supplied more than the Entire EU. Because the UK shopped around, while the EU insists on waiting for their own production lines to catch up.
Someone will have made an absolute packet off it, someone like Mone or a similar bottom feeder.

only it aint going to a Brit. its going to some losing ukrainian, meanwhile that money could have been better spent on our roads, bridges, helping the homeless... anything!
Remember that you have an air carrier that is falling apart and it has been stationed for, how many years now?
Nice to see they are supplying body armour to Ukrainian troops as I remember that some British soldiers died through lack of it in Iraq: they had to share it and distribute it according to who was in the most danger. I wonder if they also get rifles that work properly, I understand those SA80s used to jam up a lot. Also, have you provided them with plenty of toilet paper: our soldiers suffered from a severe lack in Iraq - it was on the news then.
Aye there was a lack of body armour the police here in Northern Ireland gave a load of their body armour to the army it was older stuff but its better than nothing
The Small Arms for the 1980s (SA80) programme did produce a few weapons, the third iteration of the L85 now works extremely well, which is still in service and now being replaced by a new rifle from Colt of Canada.
That is some good kit
definitely better than the gear we were issued in 1975
As an American, I love seeing countries support Ukraine, I just can't wait for my country to get back to it too. Honestly, we should send a trillion-dollar aid package but I'll be happy to see anything more than 10 billion.
What for the Ukraine has already lost the war and let’s not forget the Americans leaving tons of equipment behind and all you did is arm Isis, and then we have the Vietnam war, another wall where you got your arse kicked
As I was watching this I kept thinking about the massive difference: On the one hand we have Ukrainian soldiers fighting for their freedom and for democracy, supported by countries like Britain.... and this is what their kit looks like as given by a supporting country... (pretty impressive!) and on the other hand we have Russian "soldiers"... conscripts, criminals and mercenaries... forced to fight for a sociopathic leader with his unjust set of lies and a fake cause... and they have to cope with a terrible lack of kit or even having to crow-fund for their equipment. Right versus wrong. Good versus evil. The contrast could not be greater. And this contrast in kit just emphasises that difference.... As an important side note: I do not hate the average Russian soldier, many/most have no choice and face a stark choice. With tens of thousands of innocent young men being sent to their death for what ? The misguided beliefs of a power-hungry criminal.... : I just wish more Russians could find the truth and boot Putin into prison asap. Slava Ukraine !!
What about ukraine with wise feet do yall give wide feet style boots
What’s with the Camo on the plate Carrier?
There are also little loops on the plate carrier's front for gear.
Seems a bit small. Interesting.
Those Softie suits are great bits of kit, but will they be good enough for a Ukraine winter? That's not a criticism, it's a question to anyone out there who has more experience with them.
Our cold weather gear is ok. Don't forget, we use a "layers" system - field jacket, softie, shirt, thermals, t-shirt and if required, a Goretex (waterproof) jacket over the top. Once it's all equipped, you can stay quite warm in fairly extreme cold.
(I done a Bosnia 6 month tour over the winter months, extremely low temperatures, and was warm enough using similar kit)

A large number of NHS doctors have army reserve positions, and quite a few learned their job in Afghanistan at the big casualty clearing stations there. If there's a shortage, it's because politicians make the decisions.
