Not only westerns shot there, but the famous 1939 epic Gunga Din! They chose this spot because the mountain range looked very much like the Himalayas. Side Note: Open camping is pretty much allowed all over there.
Thanks for posting this! I hiked Alabama Hills last week and was wishing I had my bike and wondering how it would be. Your timing is perfect! I'll bring my bike next time. 😊
So many trips to the Eastern Sierra's and still never been there, this sparked a trip this fall to explorer. Thank you for the epic video.
Spring is nice with the snow on the mountains, but the fall colors are the best.
Can't wait to get back there. Great video!!!
I need a drone like yours
I definitely need to check this out
For sure. I regret not revisiting this on my way back from mammoth..

There's a few more roads to explore, but I think they are sandier than the ones we chose.
Looking forward to this. I’ve been thinking about all the great gravel roads up by Lone Pine.
I loved this ride. People are going to ask me why I sat on it for five months to make it.
Yo what’s your buddy’s soma bike check? Straight bars? Dope I’m trying to do the same..🤙🏼🍺
I want to say it's the Fog Cutter, but not entirely sure...
