Gold is used in electronics. What kind of electronics you say? ELECTRONICS, all of them. Silver in a lesser degree but still is a valued precious metal. This is smart advice he's giving. Just make sure you buy certified pure as possible gold.

silver will go down again just a few months ago silver was down at $13 an oz.. that was the time to buy and now is the time to sell. unless you have a connect your best is to sell your bullion to a company like apmex all you have to do is call them and give em a list of what u got and they'll send you a check. it'd be smart to buy a few oz here and there when you have extra money but unless you have big money like say 50k you aren't going to get rich. what my dealer does is buy like 200k worth of silver at 20% below spot price then sells it for 20% over spot so right there he makes 40% of 200k plus if spot goes up a dollar he makes way more than what he bought it for. but if you only have a little silver you only make a lil money. takes money to make money

Silver isn't an investment. Silver is a form of currency. You want your investments to pay a dividend. I know these are big words for many of the people here. But trust me. If you have "shoe box" money. You want to diversify and earn a dividend from your investments. Diversify into good growth stock mutual funds, Properties, Precious Metals or, business'. You don't want to put more than 20% of your wealth into any one thing or into any one place.

(2) It must be divisible, which is why we don’t use art work.
(3) It must be convenient, which is why we don’t use lead or copper.
(4) It must be consistent, which is why we don’t use real estate.
(5) It must possess value in itself, which is why we don’t use paper.
(6) It must be limited in the quantity that is available, which is why we don’t use aluminum or iron.
(7) It should have a long history of acceptance, which is why we don’t use molybdenum or rhodium.
Only GOLD and SILVER fit all seven characteristics.
Well by your definition silver and gold aren't a very good investment. Because, the rate of return is very low when compared with almost any investment vehicle. However, Silver and Gold are recession proof. And, their value is likely to remain steady over time. So, they are very safe. Having aquired around 1,000 ounces of silver over the last couple years I can tell you its hard to make money because, you pay premiums when you buy and, sell your precious metals. Silver and Gold are much more like an Insurance Policy than an Investment. I've made much more money in stocks and Mutual funds. Even after taxes. Because the rate of return has been 8-10% over the last ten years. Silver is actually worth less than it was 5 years ago. So, if you bought silver at almost any time in the last 5 years you would have lost money.
Thats 8-10%/year btw. When you calculate inflation silver and gold values are basically negative over the the same 5 year window. Take one of my favorite stocks Smith&Wesson. you could have purchased it in 2011 for $2.99/share. Look up the value you today. $29.84 THATS TEN TIMES YOUR MONEY BABY!
When you start talking about dividends paying stocks you'll really have your mind blown. Not only does the value of your investment continue to rise but, they Send You a check too! Imagine receiving paychecks in the mail but never leaving the house.

Today 8/17/2018 Gold is at $1174 per ounce silver is at $14.74 per ounce. You lost 20% of your money, the dollar is worth almost exactly the same amount right now as the date of this video. It has been higher and lower but is the same again
