Avatar 2: Does Sigourney Weaver Know the Truth About Kiri’s Father?

- Thirteen years since Avatar stunned audiences and broke box office records, James Cameron returns to Pandora with his long-awaited sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Also returning, and reuniting with Cameron for the first time since the two worked together on the genre classic, Aliens, is Academy Award-nominee Sigourney Weaver. Yes, her original character, Grace Augustine, the doctor in charge of the Avatar program, did die in the 2009 film, but she left something behind. Grace's Avatar had a daughter and now Weaver is playing that child, 14-year-old Kiri.
At the start of The Way of Water, audiences return to a Pandora that has healed from the aftermath of the Resources Development Administration’s attempts to harvest unobtanium, and now a new generation of Na’vi are learning their place in the world and the importance of family. When the RDA suddenly returns with even more devastating plans for the moon, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) are forced to flee the forest with their four children, Neteyam (Jamie Flatters), Lo'ak (Britain Dalton), Tuk (Trinity Bliss), and they adopted daughter, Weaver's Kiri.
Collider’s own Perri Nemiroff was able to sit down with Weaver for Avatar: The Way of Water's big debut in theaters on December 16th. During their conversation, Weaver explained how the character of Kiri evolved over the years, from when she first discussed the role with Cameron in 2010 to who we see in the finished film.

How incredibly insightful of Sigourney to comment on real 13-14 year olds' self image and how they adjust to the world and discover themselves. That definitely made Kiri stand out in this movie, and brought a ton of life to the character. What an incredible actress.

I appreciate that the interviewer accepted that she didn't know the truth of Kiri's conception and then moved on. I think some interviewers would have tried to badger her a little.

Kiri is most likely "The Eye of Eywa" IMO; God made flesh.
It retrospect it's kind of funny to think the Navi and the scientists just hook Grace up to this root network with her avatar body and thought to themselves, "Yes, this will work exactly as intended."
Isn’t it pretty obvious that her ‘father’ would be Eywa? I mean why else would she have such a strong connection with her

Sigourney Weaver did a superb job playing a 14 year old. Kiri is my favorite character in The Way Of Water and is the film’s heart much like Ratcatcher 2 is the heart of the James Gunn Suicide Squad and Cyborg was the heart of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. I loved every single second she was on screen and every scene she was in
I think it's awesome how close Spider is to the Sully kids. Especially Kiri. My theory is in Avatar 3 or 4, he gets either an Avatar body made for him by the science guys somehow, or his consciousness is transferred into an empty Na'vi body. Maybe even into a certain someone's who returned.

Uh yeah no that wouldn't make sense with the time line and kiri was born of graces avatar body not her human body and yeah she was annoyed because Jake's brother prepared for the mission to go to Pandora for 3 three years while Jake didn't know anything about it

So, since part 3 is already shot, and Sigourney doesn't know who Kiri's father is, it must not be revealed in part 3.

@@lukeshioshio yes, its Ridiculous to do that to your audience and the movie doesn't make any sense. They were more worried about making a visually fascinating movie then having a good plot and story line.
