The fact that this song is just a piano, some string instruments, and vocals, and is able to make a whole crowd of people cry and sing along. Shows you that the music of this show is amazing. It doesn’t matter what the show is doing now. Just remember what the show was.
I was fine through the first chorus. Then there were the phones, and my heart ached. Then everyone started singing, so solemnly, phones still raised. Tears fell. Three years later and it still hurts. We love you, Monty, and we'll keep moving forward.
This is the most saddest song ever to me. It has three different meanings to me and all are sad. 1. Monty 2. Pyrrha and Jaune 3. Someone very dear to my heart
If only Monty could see just how much his creations have grown since he's left our world. I can imagine the proud look he'd have on his face. His creativity and ideas are in a league of their own. Him laying out most of the groundwork for RWBY in the beginning is what has allowed it to flourish into the amazing show it is today. The guys over at RoosterTeeth haven't let him down. They've turned his dream into a reality, but sadly death envies the talented, and he was taken from us too soon. If he's able to see what his idea has become over the past few years in the afterlife, I'd imagine he's smiling from ear to ear. Rest in peace Monty. Gone, but never forgotten.
Everyone raising their phones and singing along, to this song, to keep the memory of monty's creation fresh in our mind is amazing, and right now im crying all over myself
Somewhere, on a farm in the middle of nowhere, there’s a little boy with the voice of a genius in his head and no idea what to do. Wherever you, Monty, we love you
“We love you Monty!” Had me breaking down in tears. Thank you Jeff and Casey for making such beautiful and meaningful music, and thank you Monty, Miles, and Kerry for making such a beautiful and meaningful show.
For me, the first time I heard cold. I didn't knew that song was for monty but that make felt the love and the grief of the world and the sadness within me. I think this song is not just a tribute for monty oun but is also a eternal see you tomorrow of the world for everyone we love andwe had lost
I have fears of becoming an adult since i've just graduate ... seeing people dying left and right due to illness, accidents or suicide, or even seeing the consequences of becoming an adult ( like overwork, having kids, old age ) like ... i really can't take it, i really want to skip adulthood but it's impossible. I can't sleep properly, losing my appetite or even talk to my friends, my family tell me ti let go but i can't .... i just felt lost and stuck ... Until recently, i listen to this song, i cried ..... i hope i can be better soon.
The best and most talented people are always taken to early and will have touched and inspired more people in that time then any of us hope to even come close to
Does this song mean something different and personal for anyone else? Whenever I hear this, I can not help but think of my father. It has been 11 years since I lost him and hearing Cold puts me into tears every time. Damn you, Jeff and Casey! Why must you be so talented?
honestly, when the camera looked back at all the light,i started crying. and then i had a bloody nose which sucked cause it always happens when i start crying over a show or video lo.
She sounds SO SO NICE when she sings Cold both live and with the records but with the other songs I become..."meh," and even "wth?!" in some occasions with the live. I get it that they're all enjoying themselves but come on......it's a musical concert. Follow the beat Jeff and get the chords right, PLEASE.
I agree, but would also mention the audio quality of the videos up. Some of them cut out weirdly or don't capture the sounds well, which may also have an effect. I've found multiple videos where in one she sounds pretty spot on, and others where it sounds bad. Overall, I think Casey has vastly improved from the last live performance they did at a convention, so that was cool.
***** she's improving, that's for sure, but her voice doesn't go well with shouting rock songs. at least yet. we'll just have to see how her voice turns out later
About Casey, remember she just started taking lessons around... like What? a few months? So for her to improve so much is a good thing, imagine when she (probably) continues lessons for next time she could probably do her (& her father) songs pretty nice! As for live, remember technical difficulties and... they're live, so no matter how much practice they do, something might happen that will mess them up. To finish up, I am going to return to Casey. Remember she is young, unless something bad happens, she is going to continue to sing and gain experience whether live or in recording, she needs have more practice live and after her time of lessons are over, she will probably be good enough to not only do the songs correctly with no fault of her own and do more songs. If I am right, this is her 2ND concert so give her some more time, pretty sure it will be worth it.
You know people dislike the song it just for me is kinda a rude thing to do you know like someone breaking something that was beautiful and special And not even caring about what they are inflicting (PS Did not mean to rhyme at the end)
This one's for you, Monty.
Feeling like I'm bout to cry, I'm surprised Jeff didn't break down :(
+nomealow he's probably heard it 1000 times
Man I already wanna cry
Was this really a song dedicated to Monty after his passing or did this song happen before he passed?
The guy who yelled out "We love you Monty!" At the end of the song almost broke me tbh
That my friend, was MurderofBirds
No one's ever really gone. The moment they truly die is when we forget them.
Professor Zoom Don’t Say Goodbye..... I hate goodbyes
And: If you don’t say goodbye, you’re not gone... you’re just not there right now.
@@shazam2826 I always say "see you later"
Why did this just break me 😔
The song for Monty and the beloved characters we lost in Volume 3.

Beautiful song and mesmerizing voice - Casey Lee is a gifted and wonderful singer. Really brings warmth and feeling to RWBY.
David Reed Yes she does. She has a beautiful voice and is a beautiful person
