The explanation of Siu Nim Tao by Sifu Sergio is impressively detailed and showcases the depth of Wing Chun. Especially for experienced practitioners, it offers a new perspective on the form and its applications. I appreciate the clarity and precision with which Sifu Sergio explains the movements. 👍🏼☯️💪🏼
I love his very simple and clear explanations. He does have lots of knowledge and research for the Wing Chun. I appreciate that he is sharing them in the UA-cam. Thanks Sifu Sergio !
Nowadays, sifu Sergio has a much higher level of internal energy and understanding about internal aspects, he performs the movements completely different, much better. But it is interesting to see the shapes of his movements in this form already were good preparations for the internal aspects.
questra e prana cinese prima di usarli in ogni arte marziale Bisogna richiamarli dentro noi stessi e poi possiamo usarli ....questo è un livello molto superiore e poi non è un gioco
Note: the force that goes to the floor is not much 29:26, even if the guy seems to be giving it his all, he's not, he's just giving his all in that posture.

at 32:03 and on there's a very good tip at 36:13 is that Lau sing choy? at 42:37 speech, that's what I want to do, a siu nim tao complete of all particularities
ciao Sifu Sergio, volevo sapere se esiste questo video in lingua Italiana, perché e molto interessante capire bene quello che sta alla base del wing Chung
The siu nim tao stance is standard for fighting! Nowadays a lot of so called wing chun sifu use the orthodox boxing stance which is not natural in wing chun. This is fatal to wing chun fighters because you cannot do shifting correctly once you stand like a boxer!

The Siu Nim Tao opening stance is an exercise, not a fighting stance. You're not fully stabilized (across all three planes), however you develop inner thigh and core muscle strength needed for footwork.
@ 100% correct but the guy has a valuable point that orthodox boxing stance has limitations to executing Wing Chun, which is a flaw in the system. This is why you see even the most reputable of Wing Chun masters tell you that "Wing Chun is used to bridge the gap after that you use your kickboxing or whatever" (GM Samuel Kwok), this essentially tells you that the flaws of Wing Chun cripple the style to the point of "use what's useful, discard what's not", which is why EVEN Bruce Lee had to recreate his Wing Chun into Jeet Kune Do and then Lee started adding stuff from fencing, boxing and so forth. This all boils down to 1 simple reason, the system that is being taught is not the full version of Wing Chun and therefore what is being taught doesn't have the answers and just turns to "Wing Chun is used to bridge the gap after that you use your kickboxing or whatever" (GM Samuel Kwok). This then leads people to think ok well Wing Chun isn't all that effective I will go learn MMA or Jeet Kune Do. Sorry, but its 100% fact!
@@leopardpro2878 The original forms of wing chun such as the old ban chung wing chun aka cho gar wing chun from the Red Boat Opera not only uses the narrow kim yeung ma stance and rear weighted chum kiu ma but also utilizes many stances including the side body horse stance, bow arrow, false leg, etc, lots of weight shifting and stance turning, and many stepping variations for all directions, plenty to have a full system of footwork. Ip Man Wing Chun 3 forms are all found within Ban Chung WC first form, and the Ip Man 6.5 staff is a fraction of the full set.
@@leopardpro2878 Hi! I've noticed you are really experienced about wing chun. Can i ask you what do you think about Iadarola and his IWKA wing chun? Currently (3 months) i'm studing his system (probably is different from his 2009's version), but i've studied for 2 years the leung ting/Botzepe one. In your opinion, what's the best school? Thanks
I got 2 responses from this.... 1st doing it without force preaches bad practice, so in actual combat you hold back power. 2nd is that you're not developing your actual Wing Chun muscle and structure form to its fullest extent and instead all you're doing is developing muscle memory and structure memory doing it soft without any real gain or advantage to progressing your Wing Chun. In summary, it is very bad practice to do it soft and therefore is wrong, however, you can do it very slow like Tai Chi to enhance your core strength, focus and breathing, but then it is knowing what parts that can be done slow and what parts that must be executed with force. From this sentence triggers another answer I would like to give you as I feel this is something you're confused with also. "If Wing Chun is an internal style that focuses on soft, why am I not using soft 100% of the time", which is a broad question to your battle between using energy and sensitivity opposed tactic and force (if that makes sense). Reason being, although "soft beats hard", Yin & Yang is about balance, therefore, your Wing Chun must have balance! The actual fluidity of Wing Chun is soft, as you are using your opponents energy/force against them and using little to none yourself, on the contrary, to execute your own attacks you then must be "hard". And in brief, no you cannot just use soft all the time to redirect the opponents force back at them constantly, in a real fight you will end up getting hurt! Wing Chun is about efficiency aka beating your opponent fast; NOT dance with your opponent until they give up because they cant hit you. Too much to discuss but hope this helps :)
Merci Monsieur Sifu Ladarola a cette Siu Nim Tao.

Do I have to do Siu nim tao with force? Unlike the Hong Kongs style, the Vietnamese is much softer like tai chi
