I was Larva 711, than the runner. Who prayed for the admins to spare your life. It was a bloody weird round. Than I died giving you up to the marines. What a way to go out.
Command Anouncement: "So...Checkers is comming to get us and murder the CL." Irene Rockfelt: "I dare Checkers to." Emergency Speakers: "Dropship on collision course! Crash imminent!" There are way too many good parts in this round but this one was a real "Oh fuuuuck." moment.
This could be turned into a 3 part Mini-series on Sci-Fi, so much character development. Between you and the Xenos, Splitting ties with W-Y and then the ending. It was a full story jesus, I'd turn it into a book. if'n I could write good.
I live the 3rd shift life so I'm usually playing during lowpop, but still... I have never seen that many aliens chase down one survivor, especially that early in the round!
2:58:56 That Elite Boiler shouting to that human *"You! Help!"* and later them Xenos smacking him dark back alley style was the most hilarious shit. This was glorious!
The part where you and a few xenos confronted the CO in front of his room was really movie-esque. Good job lasting till the end with all that crazy shit happening.
Had me glued to my screen for 3 hours Mr. Tex. Even had all the drama and plot twists needed for a good movie. Gotta also give credit to the admins for this one. Great work.
...I was seriously just going to put you on as background noise while I went to bed. Cue hearing you talk about trying to make friends with the aliens. I got up to see if they'd interact with you at all. Cue three hours later, and what a wild ride that was. Xeno Prophet. I dunno where they got that idea, but it was awesome. I wondered if maybe the Admins were going to let you infect the ship and then you got ejected. It was seriously sad when you were telling the Xenos to let you die and they were your family. Even more sad when they expended so much effort just to try to SAVE you. Most of them even dying while trying to do so. It was an amazing ride. Probably the best round I've ever seen you play. Where the silliness just kind of played into the whole round and wasn't this broken piece of the serious round. It was really fantastic, Tex. Sometimes, everyone's roleplay just comes together like that. Everyone just takes the strange-ness and rolls with it.
@@theblackpantslegion *clicks on video, sees it's three friggin hours long.* Whoa wait, what ... as if I'm gonna sit through that! *three hours later* Welp, that was one hell of a ride .. Well played! Literally!! 👏🏼
Man this video gives me hope for future admin-interactions. I had two "conversations" with admins up until now. One was a guy answering a question about an in-game mechanic, the other was a fucking prison-style interrogation after a misunderstanding and a newbie mistake on my part, both IC and OOC. Nice to see that there is no Stanford-prison type relationship between admins and players on every server.
This reminds me of this one game where a bunch of survivors were worshipping the xenos, and the xenos used them to help barricade certain areas and kill or capture the marines, and they tried to convert and/or infect other survivors.I watched a bunch of cultists gather around these 2 hosts they dragged in and talk to them, and one of them blew her brains out.It was fun, and we called them "bluepawns" because all the cultists wore blue and some xenos still killed a few despite us telling them not to
I feel like this is what Aliens Covenants should of been instead of what we got. Seriously I would happily sit through three hours of this again of the amazing stuff you and the SS13 community do.
This needs to be like an event, like a christmas thing, where all the aliens and humans get along -until that one chucklefuck pisses someone off and the aliens rip everyone apart- .
Glorious Mr. Checkers. Simply Glorious.A shame you couldn't give the commander his Mateba back. I'm sure he would have appreciated the sentiment, and made his final moments with you all the more.....memorable.
They should actually incorporate the Hybrid thing into the server for the admins to reward good or funny players to spice up rounds. Actually integrate it as a feature, to prevent huggers and help aliens avoid friendly fire by highlighting you as friendly like they do with freedom and loyalty implants.
I caught Randolph as the Queen a couple days ago. He was part of Alpha and they were attacking Lambda. I went in for a screech and backed the fuck out after I missed a buncha people and they started blasting me. Crushers and ravagers dived in to cover me and I dragged him back with me before I realized who I caught and said hello.
This was a great watch. Some really stellar RP on your part, and the admin interaction was so fun. I don't think I've watched any other 3 hour video on youtube before, but this one was well worth it.
Wow. That was, without a doubt, the best episode of Spess I've ever seen. An emotional rollercoaster, an action packed masterpiece. It makes me want to redownload BYOND. Damn fine round, Blackpants, damn fine.
I remember watching this video years ago, and I still think about it often. Im glad i watched it again. This has to be one of the funniest videos I've seen. I'm glad you're still uploading. Thank you for being you.
the Beretta as it stands now is fine, the problem was the first batch's barrels were stress tested for much lower pressures than the Military was putting on them, because they put ++P ammo in it or something. point is, Ammo was loaded really hot and shortened the life span of the barrels which lead to failures. hence the reputation. the military fixed this by, making the barrels stronger or something.
Slowly getting through the backlog, loving every moment RE; Beretta's checkered history with the 92 series, theres a declassified report floating around the archives of the net from the first trials with the first production batches that the SEAL teams received to test, its just page after page of "Date X/Y/Z, Gun #X, slide cracked in half, hit operator in face, broken cheekbone injury" and other failures, the first batch and a half had seriously bad metallurgy which was cracking and shattering less than a thousand rounds in on the guns with standard 124gn Nato spec Ball 9mm, and significantly less with the +P subgun rounds they liked to use, that Beretta said the gun could handle, hence why NSWC Crane researched a bunch of fixes including the completely enclosed 'Dolphin' slides. Anything made from the early-mid 90's and onwards are well built quality gats, before that, it was hit or miss with the rate they were producing them, didn't have the time to test the steel and heat treat during QC before they left the factory.
as cool as it was they let you be a "hybrid", it's only cool because you got the personality to make it WORK. you and the russ station dude are making me want to learn how to play this game.
Without exaggeration, this was more captivating than most fiction plot i've ever read, from the beggining to the end. I think RP games like that are really the best place for creative stories and events, since they happen organically. Btw, i've just learned about this game today, but i've never been so intrigued by any other RP games, since most popular games to RP on are based on more accessible stuff, like GTAV, or Garry's Mod, It's quite bizzare seeing what looks like a game from an early 2000s, being specifically designed to roleplay, I mean the game is chat-based, It's just a bresh of fresh air after watching other RP content out there.
Survivor is one my favorite CM roles, It's one of the most freeing but it's at the cost of being alone, unfortunately your survival depends on a lot of luck even if you hide in a locker for 20-40 minutes. The problem with the survivor role is that you are given so little power it's up to other players to decide on whether or not you will live or die (the result is usually death for you, in the most boring un-fun way possible). There is still a lot of potential in the role, for example, the most fun i'v ever had in CM are the rounds when I somehow befriend the queen/aliens and sabotage the marines.
This episode is the main reason why I like ss13 and the ability to roleplay your way into anything if you try hard enough and have others go along with it.
When the Marines where falling back and W-Y was talking in chat trying to "rescue" you, You totally should have lead them into an ambush. "Oh yeah.... Im uh, over here. No aliens around here guys! Really! Would I lie?"
Very much so a necro post I suppose.. Not even sure if anyone would ever check this, but I'd always wanted to play Space Station 13. It just has such a rough start to things.. and it seems like no one is very willing to suffer a newb to the game. Not to mention that when you start, you're essentially going to remain a newb for quite some time, because it takes SO MUCH to learn even a little about each of the roles you can do in a game My first round ever I was met with someone who at first came off as nice, but very quickly got upset with me and started looking for a reason to leave me on my own.. I then also got yelled at by an admin for correcting a spelling error in what I had to say.. and also got in trouble because my mouse apparently did something odd and was clicking really fast at times, due to the contact points being rather rough, and I got accused of using a speed clicker... Tried playing on several different stations and just always felt like no one wanted to help me learn anything

Alt title: "Checkers' Mind". Kinda has the same vibe with constant complaining(with varying levels of wit) about quality of life, surroundings, situation, and about not getting a thing he could really use right about now. Pretty much the only differences are that he's in a more bizarre situation, enjoys a way bigger amount of Administratum-issued Plot Armor to allow it, and unlike HL protags he's quite vocal, allowing the situation to get even more bizarre.
I don't know why I'm putting this here, but whatever: Custom Beretta 92FSs were the standard issue for S.T.A.R.S. in Resident Evil. Jill uses one in 1 and 3 (Chris used one in 1 too IIRC).

Keeps it interesting
The aliens were all so accommodating. Clearly you chose the right side.
Quite true

what server?
@@yuripantyhose4973 Colonial Marines. Based on the Aliens universe. It's very PVP based if you want to practice being robust.

langston & wilson combat berettas are VERY cool. I have a Beretta 92 brigadier elite II that is also pretty legit. No lighter, brutal SOB's lol.
Okay, so I was already interested in this game, having watched several of these videos, but now I'm in. I'm fucking in.
