    If you're coming to Yosemite, the Mist Trail is a must-do. We happened to be here in a record-setting year with the snowmelt so Nevada and Vernal Falls were both raging into the Merced River. Hope you enjoy our full loop hike in this video.

    We just camped in Yosemite a few weeks ago, stayed at Lower Pines Campground. Hiked Mist Trails with our kids, ages 7, 9, and 1….we absolutely loved it.

    I lived in Yosemite valley for 1 year. It’s so beautiful in summer but the winters will take your breath away! It’s like another world. ❤❤❤

      What. an incredible experience you got to live, Robin! I have yet to see Yosemite in the winter, but having been there twice now, every single time, it just hits different. Can't wait to go back! ❤

    A wonderful hike. You folks did it in one of the wettest years ever. Still, they don't call it the Mist Trail for nothing. I'm 70 years old now and not crazy about all the stone steps. So I take the John Muir Trail when I can.

      Happy to hear you enjoyed this video! Definitely a lot of stone steps up this one. Would love to do the entire John Muir Trail one day. 😍 Keep gettin' out there!

    I love all your hikes but I think this is my favorite. We went a little past the foot bridge and turned around. It was raging when we went but nothing like this. How amazing to see the falls raging like that. Definitely something you won’t forget.

      Thank you, Melody! We loved this one. We were incredibly grateful to experience the trail the way it was that day. Water was gushing everywhere and it made the adventure surreal. One of our top hikes ever!

    You guys went to Yosemite at a really good time because I noticed there way less people compared to when I went to Yosemite in late June .

      Thank you, Donnie! It's always good to go to Yosemite right before Memorial Day in my opinion OR September - October. June and July are a mess because it becomes touristy, especially if you're not backpacking or doing the adventures that require you to go more into the backcountry of Yosemite. That being said, if you get to the park early in the morning (I'm talk 5:30 - 7:00 a.m.) you'll have a lot more peaceful time because you'll have a huge head start. Plus, another recommendation I would say is do the more popular adventures on week days. 😊 Hope this helps!

      I'm not sure about current conditions but it's usually less packed in the mornings (start hiking this thing around 7 a.m.; you will practically be alone) and in the fall (late September - November) so you should be good to go. Those are my tips. Happy you enjoyed the video. It's an epic hike! :) @@IamLEGENDkb24

    What date was this? We will be in Yosemite this Sunday September 17. Online it says the trail is closed.

    • @JamieMcCracken
      @JamieMcCracken  Рік тому

      Hi Gina! So the part that's closed is the section where you see Lala and I go through the gate and we talk about how the trail splits. If you get there before 7 a.m. you'll be fine, but once it's 7 a.m., they close it off because they are working on the trail. That's only Monday - Friday so if you hike it on a Saturday or Sunday, then you're good any time. Hope this helps! Happy you enjoyed the video. ❤

      Thanks! We arrive the 17th and leave the 23rd. Will be hiking Monday- Friday. Our hotel (Tenaya) is one mile from the south entrance. Really want to attempt this hike.

      When was this hike?

      That'll be a great time! We stayed at an Airbnb in Coursegold so we had a good bit of a drive each day but loved it because we could easily go into town and have a chill day from all the physical exhaustion we put ourselves through during the week. You should check out the entire Yosemite video I did a couple months ago. We went in late May. You all got it good because Glacier Road is open now after they have re-done the road. Highly suggest the Taft Point hike. It's epic up there.@@ginafrechette8184
