There’s a 4th way actually. It’s called waiting until the earliest models turn 25 years old, after which they are legally allowed for import into the US Not that it matters since the majority of us won’t be able to afford an R34 GT-R with the way current prices keep going up for them, and it will be easier to find a non GT-R version of the R34 and turn that into a “makeshift” GT-R for way less money
@@IIIVI I mean this dude is hoarding cars that can't be registered as regular cars when they are 25 years old because of the way they were registered. Once they are 25 years old, the motorex examples will probably drop low as fuck because they did some shit to them to make them legal here and they are uglier for it. I mean why bother with motorex when you can get a clean non fucked with one if you're really looking to spend some money. I'm probably wrong, but that's what I think.as a true R34 would be legal to purchase and import... Why buy a motorex modded car then... Okay maybe the PW one I can see f&f Stan's wanting.
It is SOOO STUPID to have cars made in other countries illegal in the states. I mean if a person wants to bring a car into the states that doesn't meet certain US standards, then just have the person pay an extra fee in order to bring it here. There is NO reason to stop them from bringing it here all together because most of the "standards" are pretty arbitrary BULLSHIT that makes zero sense, such as the type of headlight or tail lights or the exhaust which of course most people who mod cars in the US mod their exhaust in a way that would NOT be "standard" or even legal anyways. Plus most of the "standards" that they want a car to have do not make the car any safer, so long as a car as seatbelts, breaks, turn signals, headlights, a steering wheel and a windshield then it should be allowed to be driven in ANY country. The rest is just the governments way of being greedy bastards and to make more money off people. Plus cars that are right hand drive being illegal in the US REALLY makes ZERO sense, considering that there are PLENTY of cars in America that are right hand drive. There are literally TONS of cars used by the postal service that have been converted to right hand drive cars, many done by the employees themselves and NOT by the postal service. So to say that a car is illegal in America because it's right hand drive doesn't hold water. I mean in countries where they drive on the left side of the road you dont see them banning left hand drive vehicles, so America banning right hand drive cars is again just a stupid arbitrary decision made by idiots who want another reason to force people to pay more for something they shouldn't have to.
Blah blah blah. The same people that claimed to get the getting the MNP2 up to compliance. But instead let it sit in their Cali shop until the it was epa exempt (21 years old). Lol “legal”
I know a guy that just runs a od stopper and you would have no clue it’s there simple press of a button to turn it on or off 😅 kinda scummy but I get it you shouldn’t be buying these unless you plan on putting a new motor in it
There is a fourth way they're not talking about... and that includes driving it now in a state that doesn't care about the 25 year rule. ie Montana or Florida and some other states that I'm not aware mabye PA?
Florida just revoked like 400 titles of JDM cars... So yeah go ahead and risk it. Now those vins are all blacklisted in the us... Can't be registered here ever, even after 25 years... And that's if they don't take and crush the cars. The owners aren't completely fucked, they can sell them to countries other than Canada or Mexico... But anyone buying it will probably get a steal seeing as they won't be able to make bank off the 25 year rule and sell it to an American when it's legal. Plus, if they sell it to someone and they end up trying to sell it to an American like 15 years down the road... Guess what... That new Us owner now has a paperweight they will have to sue to get their money back for.
@@Tojoblindeye it’s not as bad as you’re stating. I have a friend whose r34 got blacklisted as you stated from Florida. He’s using dealer tags so yeah he can’t sell it but I don’t think he was ever going to sell it.
