You have to USE a Plunger after the 15-20 minute WAIT after You put the Baking Soda & Vinegar in the Toilet Bowl, and I also added Dawn Dish Soap. After the water got down to the bottom level, I still waited another 15 minutes and then FLUSHED. IT FLUSHED.
The reason the vinegar and baking soda didn't work in your other video, is because you are supposed to use it at a 1 to 1 ratio, let it sit at least an hour, and chase it with hot water. I was hoping you were going to show us how to not call a plumber
OMG he put the plunger right on the floor front of the sink 😮, that’s a big no no for me. Yikes 😬 once a plunger been used on a clogged toilet, it should be on a small plunger tray, it should never be placed where people will likely step, that germs going every where in the house, possibly bed too…that’s NASTY 🤢 You might as well not clean the toilet seat or toilet it’s no big deal for you.
No s--! It should be placed into a 2.5 or 5 gallon bucket so that it can be safely carried through the house to a slop sink or garden hose for proper sanitation! And take note of the empty liquor bottle on the tank lid! Fine production quality! Bailing on this guy for good! Criminy!
Need you to know how much your video helped me! This was one of a few I watched on the subject and yours specifically helped me to unclog a toilet in my condo that has been clogged for months now.. 😅 Thank you very much! 💙 Liked and Subscribed! 🙏
Vinegar and Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate did not work in your demonstration because the standing water diluted the acidity of the vinegar; therefore it did not work. You have to remove any standing water in the bowl first.
I've also watched and read that the order in which the baking soda, vinegar and hot water are used is going to be extremely important but I don't remember so now, of course, I'm gonna have to look that up, lol
Erm . . . it's a toilet, so the chances of the blockage culprit being a piece of plastic vs a turd, my money's on the latter. I don't know why he sounded so surprised like "what the hell are feces doing in the toilet ? unbelievable !" And, you need to have lived a littlle more if you really think a stool will have softened from blocking type hard to flushable in just two hours.
Our recent clog fix experience: 8 ounces of liquid Ajax dish detergent poured slowly into the bowl over the site of the paper & turd clog, let sit for 20 minutes, followed by a coffee pot of hot water (less than 180 degrees f., we were told 150 d. works) also poured very slowly into the bowl over the site of the clog-let sit for an additional 20 minutes (after which we could see the bowl water turning brown from the slowing dissolving turd-log-clog), followed by a second slowly poured pot, let sit for a final 15 minutes. Flush - clog gone, no plunger, no auger, no waste water splashed all over the floor or room & zero room clean up &/or turdy tools to clean up. 48 hours later the toilet is still flushing well. We're not talking toys, just turds, paper & Presto we're Pleased!
It ruined my toilet and took the finish off. The finish is still floating in the toilet everytime I use it years later now. Worst thing I ever did. I suffer every time I see the porcelain floating away.
This is not good for a toilet. You have too much water to dilute the process. This does work in a kitchen or bathroom sink. You put the bacon soda in a sink with no water and then a combo of small amount of hot water and white vinegar.
Soap & hot water to unclog is gentle on the entire system. It won't potentially blow open a water passage into your wax seal or around the toilet floor flange that may well cause (filthy) bowl water to leak (unseen!) into the floor around the seal & to the ceiling below! That's what's happening in our world today after a few years of repeated forceful plunging a sluggish toilet &/or drain lines in a 100 year old home.
Can someone please tell the toilet paper in my toilet that it was supposed to dissolve in 30mins? I think it has executive disfunction and has lost track of time.
I used this morning 9/9/23 lol Baking soda vinegar, and I used some dish soap Dawn.. let stand for 30 minutes poured hot water not boiling water and poured the hot water in and flushed .. I do hv a plunger just to ensure it went down I did 1 plunge and it went down fast lol I’m sure about the plunger. It would’ve worked, but I wanted to make sure thank you so much for your video. I’m actually sending this to a neighbor lol 😂
I absolutely determined what was causing my toilets to clog periodically. Costco Charmin toilet paper! Each individual sheet of Costco Charmin toilet paper is larger than it needs to be. Simply compare it to paper from the supermarket. If you have newer toilets that use less water but apply more pressure to the flush, this most likely is not a problem. But I have old style 50 year old toilets in my house and my parents have one of the early low water usage toilets (25 years old) and the Costco Charmin paper is 100% the problem. My parents built a house 25 years ago and all three toilets constantly stopped up. They replaced 2 of them and those 2 have never been a problem since- and they are severely addicted to Costco Charmin. I use the leftover guest toilet and it stopped up with each flush until I bought normal sized paper for that room only. I still have to be careful but rarely have to plunge. My own toilets are not a problem at all so long as I avoid Costco Charmin. I'm not certain if the Kirkland brand presents the same problem.
I started using Scott’s 1000 sheets, the thin toilet paper. The thick stuff clogs our toilet. And if Scott’s is too expensive I get the off brand that is just like Scott’s. No issues anymore. Off brands are at Walmart called Great Value in the purple package, Family Dollar and Dollar General have similar brands (D & G).
@@Freekygrandma If I use thick supermarket paper, I'll use about 6 or 7 sheets. If I use Scott's I'll use 16 to 18 sheets and neither clogs the toilet. So there's no real money savings and it has the effect of sandpaper. I'm a woman and I've debated this issue with my well educated, intelligent BIL several times. The Scott's obsession must be a man thing. Yes, my sister buys the Scott's because of him, but she's schizophrenic so her judgement is always questionable.
@@Freekygrandma I've read that Scott's is among THE, if not THE , most biodegradable TP. I also often get the Aldi's home brand, which is a knock-off of Scott's and apparently dissolves even better! And is of course Cheaper! I keep thicker TP on hand for nose-blowing if i have a colds or something and need softer.
My toilet has been having difficulty flushing completely for the last 6 months or so. I used a plunger on it and a toilet auger and it seemed to get better for a while but still fails to completely flush sometimes. I fear there is a small toy or something in there. Or maybe my kids are bigger now and they need to eat more oatmeal…
Tree roots can also grow into your lines and cause issues. If the auger didn't reach far enough it may not have reached the problem. Also Costco toilet paper can cause this.
Mine is the same. I turned up the water pressure on it. It clogged all the time. It could be you need new insides to the toilet or it has something in it
I repeatedly have clogs that take multiple days, if I don't do violent, floor / room shaking toilet plunger work that just gets things everywhere and is incredibly gross. Just happened last night & my hand still hurts from holding the plunger so tight for at least 30 minutes of work. I think I have some kind of permanent blockage in the "trap" that you reference. Is it possible to rent a toilet snake or auger? Or is a plumber my only option, who is probably just gonna tell me it's just the smaller pipes people use these days in buildings built in the last 10-15 years?
A local hardware store would probably be able to help you if you go in and ask someone! I was surprised to learn all kinds of stuff could be rented at my hardware store
Did you not read the comment that said the reason it didn't work was because the water in their diluted the vinegar so they need to remove standing water did you not see that comment how do you feel now
Never in a million years would I use soda and vinegar to unclog a toilet - that's what a plunger is for. However, soda/vinegar does work on the stains - as demonstrated in your video. Soda/vinegar will also unclog a shower drain (hair/soap) or a slow kitchen drain (food /grease) but it doesn't work if there is standing water, because the water dilutes the reaction.
@Ed Wilbanks He has 2 videos with the exact toilet. In the first video, he claims to be out on a call regarding a plugged toilet. The next day he ISN'T out on a call but at home.
Blue Dawn Dish Soap. Add a Few Drops and Wait (15min?) ... Works 9 out of 10 times. I'd call you, but no more liquid plumber. 😊 I heard white vinegar works for hard water stains, but idk. Thank you 😊

If you have a plunger, what's the point of this method
@@sewingchicken1881 exactly
The baking soda isn’t needed. You may as well just use hot water.
This method is used when a plunger alone doesn't work.
The baking soda and vinegar won't crack the toilet.

Exactly!!
I've used hot water with shampoo and/or body wash and it's worked every single time.

Some people do clean up after a mess. It’s possible he was planning on mopping the floor after he was done getting rid of a clog. 🙂

Vinegar, baking soda and boiling water ABSOLUTELY works!! The only exception would be if any objects other than toilet paper and waste were involved.
