Ngl I've watched this so many times I know it by heart - but it's still great to have the links
The drummer is gooooood!!!!!
A real guitar band. No holding back.
Great stuff. Andrew Scott is a highly underrated drummer.
I sort'a knew Andrew back in art college. He's a good guy, great drummer and a dead ringer for Stewart Copeland.
Just a joyous group to listen to, watch and experience. The fact that they blend 4 songwriters into one brilliant soundscape makes them that much more special. They epitomize the saying that “the sum is greater than the parts”. Although I have only been a fan for 20 years, the 30 they have given us (so far) is a gift we all should appreciate. I certainly do and look forward to every release. While each member has given us memorable songs, I have a special playlist of “Andrew Scott Songs”, that just seem to resonate with me. Thank you, Sloan, your contributions to music have brought joy to WAY more people than you probably imagine.
It cracks me up that such a wholesome, quintessentially Canadian band such as this has, as it's biggest singalong line, "I just ate my young." Classic.
These Massey Hall concerts are KILLING it! Hayden, Sloan, RAA, Dan Mangan, Chad Van Gaalen......unreal production and sound quality. You guys are doing an amazing job. Thanks so much.
Sloan makes me proud to be Canadian...even though I'm not Canadian.
A few friends and I saw SLOAN for the first time a few weeks ago in Washington DC. What a FAB show. They remind me of my favorite band, The Smithereens. What fun! SLOAN now has a few new fans in the Virginia/DC metro area. - Anthony
Great show but it's a damn crime that Andrew didn't get his time on the mic and guitar.
Great fills on the drums.
still rockin' 500 up 💪😎
The sound quality for the Massey Hall Series has been immaculate. Continue the great work lads and lassies!
Great concert in a fantastic venue filmed in glorious black and white. What's not to love!?
Just saw them in Charlottetown. Money City sirens send chills. Up there with Hells Bells intro.
Steve Malkmus on drums, Kevin Bacon on guitar and a fella born in Newtonards, Contae an Dúin. Sure you cant get much better than that. Wholesome rock and roll.
Great video and audio. Watching this sealed the deal: I'm definitely seeing them in Winnipeg, April 9, 2016.
Sloan and The Tragically Hip should have been worldwide huge bands , Sloan' s back catalog of music was outstanding
Hey there’s still time for Sloan. They’re still going strong and recording a new album!
These guys trust each other.
Great footage of an awesome show! We love Sloan!
The greatest band of all time.
Brilliant Venue and Band..together is magical..Thank you SLOAN and Mike Nelson.
They opened their set correctly. Love you Jay.
Don’t get me started on the f’n GREATNESS. Kowtowing at the Altar of Sloan. 🇨🇦🍁🎶
Such a great band. Wish this was longer. Would have loved to have seen People of the Sky.
SWEET!
nice show. love the black and white
I've always been one of the few big fans from Montreal, i never understood why the last time i went and saw them years ago, hardly anyone at the concert was from Montreal, i find them musically wonderful, with good creative uplifting hooks, lyrically good, just one of the wonders from Canada, i guess, Halifax to be precise, i always enjoyed them, they're world class for sure and just oh so interesting, but still baffled why they weren't so popular in Canada's 2nd largest city, beats me, i love them!!!!! Terri Leckner, Montreal
Sloan -- underrated...great 🤘
Good singing
superb quality on this! thank you!
Stellar guitar tones on this and Money City Maniacs solo sounds like the distinct Morley Wah
seeing them tonight. very excited.
It is very Unkind that that song was not played.
It is their Best.
love sloan
I've loved Sloan so much for so long!
Best ever
man, I miss live music.
So glad they stayed together and have produced such great songs! Love these guys from the beginning and still following closely 🤩
Amazing ❤
This band is soooooo due for a live DVD. With that being said, this video is bitchin'.
Be it resolved THAT
"You Got a Lot On Your Mind" is the best fucking song Sloan ever put to tape.
Don't get mad! It's just a fact.
Nice mix! Sure wish they played, If It Feels Good Do It.
Sloan rocks!!!
Latest song 2023 kicks ass fellas
Named my daughter after these dudes, everyone wants to put an "E" on the end of Sloan cause I guess it's the "fem" version. I say no, there's no E.
candace starne Good thing you chose them; a daughter named Consolidated would just be ... odd
Apparentley the name 'Sloan' was created as a derivative of 'Slow One' , which was what a teacher called one o their fiends
Great stuff by my favorite Canadian band (easily more than Rush/Guess Who/The Hip/The Band.) Their only crime is being too consistently great, they become easy to take for granted. Great hearing Ill Placed Trust, and how was You've Got a Lot on Your Mind not picked as a single?
19:07 Money City Maniacs
Your guys are so f*** cool :)
So cool.
What a great fucking show. Sloan!!
other man is such an f'n good track
Awww... only 900 likes. What an amazing set! Still rocking down the #transcanadahighway ❤ eh Chris 😊
A solid and very underrated band. The drummer is top notch and gives off Stewart Copeland vibes.
That was awesome!
The Good in Everyone is not in this set? Massey Hall would have been the perfect place to blast that gem !
Is there any way Live at Massey Hall could possibly release the audio of the full show? The sound is amazing. Sorry I missed this show.
I think Andrew was created in a lab harvesting DNA from classic rock drummers:
Looks like Stewart Copeland
Keeps time like Charlie Watts
Drum fills like Keith Moon
AND he plays guitar, sings, and writes some of their most interesting songs! He is Sloan’s secret weapon.
I know this is just fun but he is a little too precise to be Moon. Levon Helm trying to play in Keith Moon's style :)
Really digging Patrick's tone with those little Traynors.
Sloan doing a free concert here in London Ontario for Canada's Day fest it's going to be June 2
The other man has teh best hook in music. Trust me I know what I'm talking about
Tre Moo But it’s my least favourite Sloan song...viscerally I can’t stand it.
Andrew Scott looks like Stewart Copeland
Because people assume sarcasm nowadays. The worst is when you actually show enthusiasm, they assume you're taking the piss. It's a sad state of affairs.
Fuck Dan Wood I want a Sloan scarf.
only 600 upvotes, fuck this world
shela divine...jax....jackyl
I like Sloan and their good music but I prefer a concert hall without seats. So Massey Hall is not my fav place to be! :D
Came out sort of Canada’s answer to Nirvana, but eclipsed them in terms of quality, breadth and musicianship. A great band, their lack of global recognition both a true shame and our little Canadian secret gem 💎
When is the Bahamas film going to be ready?
Def the first rock concert I've ever seen without one person drinking. What's going on here?
...And yet, live sound technicians playfully refer to it as, "The Messy Hole."
Great set! Short one though... Has been been edited down? Or an opening slot?
Ah, ok. So this video begins 10 songs into their set. Would love to see the entire show. This is wonderful. Cheers! (source: www.setlist.fm/setlist/sloan/2015/massey-hall-toronto-on-canada-bf4bd8e.html)
Yikes, is anyone else noticing that without glasses, Chris looks ever so slightly like Jim Morrison? O.o
Sounds like they're singing "choke fizz" in Money City Maniacs? 😂
"And the joke is, when he awoke is, his body was covered in Coke fizz." There's a story behind it, but the lads have never been quite clear on the origins of the verse. Hope that helps.
You are correct! The actual lyric is Coke Fizz of course but for whatever reason (possibly the coke sounding like the name of a drug but who knows) Patrick has been singing it as choke fizz for years. It doesn't make sense but I guess the whole chorus is meaningless anyway so it doesn't matter.
Canada's KISS
The drummer looks like Stewart Copeland.
why isnt he wearing his old man glasses?
Sloan: Kissing babies and healing the sick in equal measure…
Disappointment....thought this was of sloan the genius muscician
Ironically the best song they ever did and the only song in my mind, I was "underwhelmed" by the rest of the show.
I mean how can a band come up with an awesome song like Underwhelmed and not do anything remotely close to it ever since but a stinking pile of disappointing hokey $hit!
Aside from 1 song the concert isn't worth the paper the ticket was printed on.
The best
Just saw the band for the 1st time ever in Los Angeles a week ago. I miss that night. Sloan were laughably amazing, SO good, the kind of good where you laugh at how great they are. One of the best shows I have EVER seen and I'm 57, I've seen a lot of great bands going back to the '70s. I'm so stoked the band make a living with the music but I think they deserve superstar success and the financial rewards that come with it. Sloan are the complete package.
so true. They are so much better than 100s, or thousands, of bands out there getting rich from mediocre music
what venue did they play down in LA?

Such kind comments about Sloan 🤘 I’m Canadian & live in London,Ontario,
Canada & have seen “Sloan” so many times live i’ve lost count lol. My first time seeing them was in 1995 at “Western Fair Grounds” in London,Ontario with 3 other amazing Canadian bands which included “Tea Party” ~ “ I Mother Earth” & “54•40” 🤘 & it was such a memorable show that i will never ever forget 😃
