Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway for the bag! The winner was chosen this morning and will be contacted by email soon :). I hope to do many more giveaways like this in the future!
I’m going into secondary school tomorrow and I’m so so so nervous 😬 I have type one diabetes and one of the things I’m super nervous about is having a hypo in class and everyone staring! I’m also on the same pump as you which has made me much more confident! 💜
Loved this!!!! Such a great checklist!! Also - I have that EXACT same backpack in navy blue, and I just love that backpack! Thanks for the awesome video Michelle! :) :) :)
I was recently diagnosed and your cahnnel really helped me! You are inspiring! Edit: wait what? You are also a ballet dancer?! That is so cool! I have been dancing ballet for 12 years now! It is so hard to watch the bloodsugar during class! But my teacher is really nice and she understands that i sometimes have to take a break!
Aww I'm so happy I can help :)! Yes, I talk about my ballet in this video at 5:47 ua-cam.com/video/JLYwKevA87o/v-deo.html&frags=pl%2Cwn I started ballet as an adult though, so I'm nowhere near a professional haha 😝. I agree, it is so tricky to do ballet with diabetes!
Hope you have a good stress free final year! (yeah, like those deadlines would go away, eh?) Since going to school is a distant memory for me (but ironically enough, I work in them sometimes) I keep my supplies in my lunch box that stays in the service truck. I try and go minimal. Supply of pen tips for the week, insulin pen, a couple alcohol wipes, glucometer & associated gear and my libre. Interesting fact about the tylenol. But, I hope you are aware of the negative affects of advil/ibuprofin/etal, bad for your kidneys, and one reason as a diabetic I don't take that class of pain killers.
Thank you for sharing... although I have diabetes long enough to remember horse needles and boiling syringes to sterilize them i always learn something cool from you, today very nice temperature sensor ! Thanks!
Woww you are so organized...I was diagnosed with type 1 a month ago and didn't have any ideas on how to create a simple diabetic kit. I used to walk around with everything but after watching your video it's so much easier now.
Hey I picked up a box of those Made Good bars last week and like the size BUT they were so sticky and impossible to get out of the packaging. NOT good when treating a low lol!! Which flavor do you like maybe I’ll give em another try. At work I’m a little minimalist. No pump so I just have my libre scanner in my pocket, insulin pen and snacks in backpack. Oh I also keep a little blood-o-meter in my backpack in case the libre fails for some reason. That’s it!
Another well done, informative, and helpful video. I wish we could shoot one together as to how I have survived type 1 for 60 years with no complications. Is starting to listen to country music a complication? The only problem that is developing rapidly is running out of areas to put the infusion set due to scar tissue buildup from years of pump use. I was counting on my young, lovely, record holding American swimmer to help me, but she died from brain tumors a year ago.
What is the purpose of the pump clips? I have T1 also and was diagnosed with diabetes last year. I have a medetronic pump also and have never used a pump clip. Should I get some? Btw this is a ran dive question but what insulin do you use? I use novarapid Much love from Australia xxx
Since Freestyle, Dexcom and Enlite all use a comparable measurement method I bet they are influenced by Tylenol in the same way. The only system I am aware of, that uses a different measurement method is Eversense.
I originally thought the same as you, but Freestyle claims on their website to not be affected by acetaminophen (scroll down) www.freestylelibre.us/cgm-difference/cgm-reinvented.html
I hope I can win this case! My boyfriend got me a myabetic case from amazon but the quality was low and started to fall apart. :( Good luck on your PhD Michelle!

I know this is off topic but today I realized I could put and empty tic tac bottle in my purse and use it as a sharps container for lancets🤣
I’m 22 and have been a diabetic since I was 10! I feel so unorganized with my stuff! I work and I need to revamp my bag!

I keep a bunch of supplies in my backpack which I carry around with me all day. I also keep lots of supplies in my school office.

Hey there, what’s that little pink pump clip? What’s it called?
Which meter do you use?
Very useful video. I am starting my 2nd year of university in about 2 weeks. I am kind of excited to have a ‘normal’ routine 😂✌🏻
Thanks! I agree, it is nice to have a routine :)!

Much love from Australia xxx
Asha Fowler for example when your having a shower clip it in so water doesn’t get in the pump site
Yes, it's to prevent from anything getting in your pump site when you take your pump out. And I use novarapid as well :)
I’m not diagnosed yet but my doctor said my sugar is high I get results soon ill keep you updated 😭
Your a inspiration, my mother have a diabetes also... i enter than you for the opportunity.. 😊😊
I call it a "poker," too!
Do you know if Tylenol also affect sensor like freestyle libre ?
No, the freestyle libre is not affected by tylenol :)
Since Freestyle, Dexcom and Enlite all use a comparable measurement method I bet they are influenced by Tylenol in the same way. The only system I am aware of, that uses a different measurement method is Eversense.

@Michelle Lord very interesting! But maybe it has to do with the FGM / CGM difference where FGM doesn't have the same accuracy requirements :D
I hope I can win this case! My boyfriend got me a myabetic case from amazon but the quality was low and started to fall apart. :( Good luck on your PhD Michelle!
can you do a day in the life at college or what you bring for lunch to school and how many carbs, etc..?
I'm glad you asked!! I was thinking of filming something like that next week :)
That bag is sooooo cute!!!
I agree! You should definitely enter the contest to win one 😀
Meeting Dr IGUDIA UA-cam channel was the beginning of a new life for me after using his herbs medication in curing my Diabetes disease.
