Regarding the fuel hose type connector on the small hose, a fuel disconnect tool isn't required. After removing the safety clip, there's a push button on the other side of the connector. Push that in while wiggling/pulling the connector off. Then just snap it back on the new filler neck. I also didn't remove the exhaust mid pipe; I just pushed it aside out of the way while wrestling the filler necks out/in. Total time for me was about 2.5 hours including cleaning up/ putting tools away. Really appreciated this video!
Thank you for the video. This really helped me a lot. It took me about 1.5h to get out (1h fighting with bolts and exhaust) and about 30 minutes to put it all back together again. All on the floor in the garage with some basic tools. It's a little fiddly but once you get the exhaust out of the way your life gets much easier. I personally gave up on the exhaust because I couldn't get it off (some custom exhaust) so I went with removing the sway bar instead and uncoupled the rubber hose. With some convincing it came out and went back it. Now finally no code...
Thanks for the video. I learned much. How durable is that hose that touches the fuel tank? Seemed like you maybe bended it too much when installing, but I don't know, so I ask. Thanks again.
Great video, I’ve been chasing a P0442 small evap leak on my 2009 F150…you mentioned in the beginning that this repair was due to fuel leaking. Was the leak location on the actual fuel inlet hose neck or from the capless fuel inlet valve? Appreciate you sharing…wish there was a retrofit for replacing with a traditional cap/fuel system.
yea it actually spilled the gas when filling from the side of the neck these capless hoses have been a really issue for these new cars. but with a smoke leak test you can find these leaks quickly.

This hose is a new redesign and it's gonna last more. The hose is fine you can twist it as long as u don't pinch it or slash it lol
Thanks for the video! How long should the process take?
Won't take too long if u doing in on the ground maybe 2 hours or less just follow the trick on how to take up the hose and u will be good.

@@JVFIXLLC I’ll be sure to get under there with a flashlight and inspect that hose as well as the connections. Thanks for again for replying.
Do you have any stores you that you purchase this part from? Attempting to fix it myself because of how great this video was
Yea rockauto it is a good website. I also get parts from ebay and amazon.
Where can I find the blue safety clip, it broke when I pull it out ?
on ebay
Did you have to disconnect the battery or even empty the tank?
No I didn't disconnect the battery and it's better if u have your fuel tank at a low level
