I’ve been watching the series. Thank you for your story. It’s refreshing to see people with positive attitudes through the entire hike! God bless you and the crew
That's awesome that Zpacks is sending you a new tent. I love it when I hear of companies backing up their products, koodus to them! And koodus to you folks for hiking 32.5 miles.
One thing that is great about the good hiking and camping companies is they stand behind their products so them sending a new tent is not unusual. CNOC fixed for free my very old and well used and loved hiking poles that still had more life. Just a small plastic piece that held the pole together snapped off. They sent me that piece for free and viola my pole was as good as new. Gotta love them. Never hurts to ask. Southern Oregon is pretty dry this year and dry most years. The Oregon desert is real. Crater lake is amazing. And if you plan long days if you can push through the lava and the blow downs you have places you can buy dinner at the end of the day. Having something to look forward to helps. Gotta love Oregon huckleberries, a relative of the blueberry. Great micro water source. Hopefully the long water carries aren’t killing your knees but it is beautiful through Oregon. Even the creepy burned down forests have their charm. Good thing about the heat wave is it seems to have killed the mosquito population.
Nice hiking guys and gals! By the way, those are huckleberries you were eating! Very tasty trail snack. Huckleberries are shiny, and blueberries are more of a hazy foggy blue and are not as common. I’m not sure if you tried, but it is possible to repair your tent zipper by very lightly pinching the sides of the zipper pull with pliers. Our zippers failed very early on in the desert but I was able to pinch the slide and bring them back to life. However, our Duplex was also replaced due to pinholes forming from the Dynema stretching. I’m sure the wind near Tehatchapi had something to do with this. Safe hiking, almost there! Have fun! -Ground Score
Started watching you guys 4 days ago while my daughter was in the hospital. Great channel. One of my goals is to do the PCT whenever I retire. Best of luck and I am almost caught up on your videos.
Be advised the Wander Women were able to get a ride to a pct connecting trail near Jefferson Park where the fire closure is and hike back to McKinsey Pass. Then they got a ride to the blowdown area and was able to hike through that and on to Cascade Locks. Got the rides in Sisters. You two are just awesome. Loving your videos. Be careful and continue to enjoy the trail. Best to you both!
Way to go, Zpacks!!! That's some excellent customer service. I've never bought from them but I'll definitely be buying my next tent from them in the very near future! 👍
Congrats of your record mileage, you really do have your trail legs! And I did a little dance when you shared the news about your tent 🏕! Well done guys, you are doing so well. Happy Hiking 🥾- Julia from the UK 🇬🇧
You are certainly eating up those miles. Still so positive and happy. Love the Channel. You are about to or have passed another channel I'm following. HRC on the PCT. Mum and Daughter Team. She is a Teacher. If you see them say hi will you. If you have passed them then it would be nice to know. They are like you, hitting high 20s most days and always a smile. Would be nice to see if you crossed paths. Anyways, stay safe and stay well. 🙂
The HRC is still a little ahead. As you mentioned they are a great hiking team also as I’d this Walking with purpose couple. Both long miles and I just love U Turns smile. It is magnificent.
We were leapfrogging with them for a few weeks before they skipped ahead to avoid the heat waves in Northern California. I think they might be a couple days ahead of us.
@@walkingwithpurpose4149 Thank you for getting back to me. I'm following 3 2021 channels, you two are certainly the fastest of the 3. The other Team is Heading Somewhere but they are a ways back. It still amazes me that you guys can hit such a pace and sustain it. The reason I thought you were close was that hand pump u-turn had problems with. HRC had the same issue. Really enjoying your hike and look forward to many more trails to come. Love your outlook on life. If you leapfrog them again be sure to say hi!!!
Outstanding accomplishment getting to crater lake & pulling off those 30+ mile days!!! It is very special your taking us along. Thanks so much!!! You may have mentioned it but what shoes are you using? Wow, 1000 miles before replacement!!!! I'd like to give em a try. Praying for your strength & safety. Always looking forward to hearing from you!
@@walkingwithpurpose4149 Thanks for passing that along!!! I'm about to start an AT section & possible through hike next year. Been on the search for a good pair of shoes. Looks like you found them!!!! Hike on & keep enjoying the moment!!!!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your experience

Those are huckleberries! You will probably find more along the trail. Enjoy. Love watching your journey.

You guys are definitely going to finish your hikes first out of everyone I’m following! You are just motoring along!
Hope you guys enjoy the WA sections! Can't wait to see your vids in those areas, especially Section K.

@5:30 they is all HUCKELBERRY, not blueberry. The whole state is full of those.
Did you guys stop at mazama campground ? I was just there over the weekend
Yes! We did. We stayed there and must have just missed when you were there.
Is your Z-tent a 4season tent?
What’s the company that makes the
Z-tent?
Aren't those huckleberries?
They have the little concavity on top; blueberries don't!
Z-pack is the name of the tent?
Yes it’s is a zpacks duplex tent. It is not a 4-season tent.
Thanks I didn’t know that.
