- So called "Assassin's" crossbows have long been a marketing tactic of crossbow makers. These are toys designed for wealthy nobles, just plausible enough to tell a story.

I always love seeing people make mechanisms out of alternative materials. Especially when the metal equivalent is so much more commonplace. I also really appreciate how 'low profile' you made it with that thumb release.
Thanks! One of the big issues with mini crossbows is having a place to grip the bow without accidentally pressing the trigger. The top trigger helps a lot but I’m
not sure if the mechanism is good for bows over 60#
I would really appreciate seeing more crossbow content. Your videos are great, keep that way! Lately i whittled out a 1:3 scale miniature of the colletiere á charavines crossbow like Tod Cutler´s myself. It´s power is amazing!
Yes I would Definitely like to see some of your miniature cross bows
Will do! Next video should be ready tomorrow
You showed me its feeetures!
Seriously though, that is gorgeous.
Fine Craftsmanship
What is not to love about mini crossbows 😊.
That trigger is gorgeous!!! Specially in times that fine metal pieces were impossible to forge!
I bet that trigger is historically appropriate!! Is truly a piece of art
Alas, illegal up here in Canada (due to a real life assassination) So I will have to enjoy vicariously through your videos
A wonderful crossbow/critter combi. Don't know what I like more the birds with the music or the little crossbow pistol. Greetings from god old Germany, and please keep up with the good work
I made my first bow yesterday and really got it shooting well today useing a sapling following your tutorial and it was so rewarding I'm really glad I found your videos and a new hobby it was exactly what I needed the bow is about 30lbs draw and can easily hit target at 30 yards also fun note it definitely would be lethal I hope your channel continues to grow and more people get into archery and bow making
Teaching bow making is my favorite thing so i’m always glad to hear when it works out!
@@DanSantanaBows well it definitely did and your passion shows in the quality of information and education you bring I am going to attempt a flat bow soon

I'm interested in starting to make bows myself and was wondering about any good literature
If you really want to dive in pick up the 4 bowyers bible books. Also see Jim Hamm’s books and Hunting the Osage bow by Dean Torges.
For the basics see my beginner essentials playlist
@DanSantanaBows awesome thankyou for the references hopefully I'm able to do some thing with the dieing ash here in the middle of the US
Did you make the bolts yourself?
Yep they’re just made of bamboo garden stakes and nails, with rawhide fletching
Could you do a in depth Video
I’m planning on making a tutorial eventually, mostly focusing on tillering these small self bows
