I like it the way it is. The worst thing that can happend to any kind of music is making it mainstream. I love seeing the 80s vibes coming back. Beeing a big trancefan since the early 90s, goa/psytrance is one of the few genres to still have some integrity left. Indie-music is usually the best music :)
I've been into Synthwave for the past 3 years and i don't mind it being as "underground" as it is. Look at Kavinsky; 1 song drop into Drive, and suddenly he has a brand backing up and Vevo have him locked in, yet he's been off the radar since 2012. that's the last thing I want for DWTD, let alone the genre itself.
I wish more peeps would give that what they don't think is anything thumbs up a click because it helps support a kickass artist who makes excellent music.
