      Hello Victor. Big ❤️ from Nigeria.
      I suppose Nimi is coined from Oluwanimi - meaning "I'm the Lord's" or the Lord/God owns me/my life... It's a relatively recent name so not sure of it's use for both genders but I'll easily name a girl child "Nimi" over a boy.
      Olushola - The Lord made/did wealth/riches.. Unisex name
      Fọlaṣade means to wear wealth/riches/honour as a crown... This is typically a female name

    I'm from Haiti, and the majority of my ancestry is Yoruba. I like to describe my identity as Haitian/Yoruba. however, I was born with a Igbo and Congolese last name, and a Igbo first name. Both of my middle names are Yoruba . My parents explained the reasons behind this, they wanted to show honor for my igbo and Congolese ancestry as well. Knowing that I identify as Yoruba, will my name be a issue with most people who are Yoruba since it's not technically a Yoruba name?.

      The perception of your identity by anyone shouldn't bother you. Be comfortable in who you are as you have a very rich background.
      That said, Yoruba people are generally welcoming people. Just that if you behave as a Roman when you are in Rome, your acceptability rating is higher.
      Learn the language and the mannerisms if you can. If not, it's ok, introduce yourself with your first name and your Yoruba name and you have a great conversation starter.
      If you have watched the "Asking questions in Yoruba" video, you should be able to answer this;
      Kini orúkọ ẹ?
