The fact that the Ruin DLC image has doors instead of elevators gives me hope that the original layout somehow gets implemented in the game, or at least modified to fit in on the released map.
The elevators always gave me the illusion that the mall is taller than the Eiffel Tower on the outside. It sucks the original entrances to the atrium got scrapped.
Me too…. this game seems unfinished….If RUIN comes out as a fully finished and complete, the unused areas have to be in RUIN if it comes out 100% finished and complete. Of course, that's just me being hopeful. Would be a really sad shame if this game is left the way it is forever.
@@THE_titangames Sorry to give your hopes up but once the big patches were added (especially the one for Xbox), Steel Wool said they were done working on the base game to focus their time on Ruin. Although they could be saying this to throw players off on purpose to surprise them with it when Ruin releases, or if they're really just trying to make sure Ruin releases more complete than the base game (and will possibly change their mind and fix it when Ruin is done?), it is most likely not happening.
No i feel like ruin isn’t what we are getting I feel like it’s gonna be a big update to the whole game and fixing a ton of stuff and later ruin will be the paid dlc although I am being super ambitious but idk something seems weird
I believe the reason why most of these areas were scrapped was because they weren't necessarily needed for the main story mode. Had they wanted to push to release survival mode, those areas would be an integral part to getting around the massive pizzaplex.
Unfortunately the kitchen in Ruin is the same as the one already in the base game. The unused part of the food court is simply just a mirror of the currently implimented area.
All of this stuff really shows how much potential this game had. It's almost sad to see stuff like the utility tunnels and all these other rooms that would have added so much more quality to the game, but got cut to meet deadlines or to improve performance. Very unfortunate and I wish they had added this back at some point, but at this point, over two years later and after Ruin has released, I highly doubt it's gonna happen.
I actually now have some hope that some of these areas might return in possible future updates, now after the most recent patch, for 2 reasons: 1. If they planned on having these areas before, or were even able to implement them before, surely they can do it again (i'm assuming they restarted development at some point, it seems most likely) 2. The most recent patch introduced in a system where if the game hasn't fully loaded in an area yet that the player has arrived at, the game will freeze to load it in. So if before, they were having issues with these areas being loaded in, they could maybe now use this new system to their advantage
@@Spytagen They said there would be future updates still, but not ones as major as previous ones. And i know they said they won't be as major, but still, I have hopes..
@@Spytagen 1. Nowhere did I say they change the loading system, I literally just said use the newly implemented loading system to possibly add in new areas 2. A lot of the areas that can be added back in don't change the map layout, such as the cut Monty entrance hallway, and then also there's side areas like Backstage that can just be added in, since a lot of them are their own seperate section, meaning the layout of the rest of the Pizzaplex doesn't need to be changed
This would be the building if fnaf sb wasn't a rushed up game, we got atleast added maps for ruin. Like the electrical room above Rockstarrow (it was a new map in ruin after the backery to beauty salon)
The elevators only needed for the game's loading mechanism. If the were no elevators the game would consume too much memory for loading in the entire Pizza plex
@@ender01o66 hmm, I don't know. It is depending on the size of the rooms. Elevators are a clever way to solve this problem. Also, those long hallways (at least most of them) do the same thing
To mask zone transitions they could have easily added two sets of those giant self-opening rectangular garage gates that are everywhere in the pizzaplex anyway. Open one gate, it closes as the next one slowly opens to load the next area. Much more natural feeling than the elevators.
I hope we get to see the original larger version of the utilidor where Monty starts chasing you at the beginning of the game before it was changed in the final version from the 2nd trailer and from one of the screenshots from Dawko's 24 hour livestream back in March of 2021

Areas like the corridor between El Chips and Mazercise were most likely deleted due to technical limitations with the loading system, the game would need to load; El Chips, Mazercise, the Atrium and the daycare almost simultaniously. While it would've been cool to have seen in-game it would've caused too many problems. Perhaps Steel Wool will try and bring it back in the DLC though.
I think one or two (maybe both) the reasons elevators are in the game is so areas will deload and force the animatronics in that area to despawn or just to reduce lag (or maybe fix a glitch with animatronics)
Well, with some minigame areas it doesn't deload the same. Animatronics AI is easy to move. It was easier on platforms I assume to run the game with elevators
Since they added in loading screens, it defeats the purpose of having the elevators, and corridors, in some cases, so I really hope they eventually go back to this layout
That's a good point. Although unfortunately after seeing the Ruin trailer. It looks like at the very least the lobby > atrium elevators are staying. We'll see what happens.
YOOO I knew that in the first trailer when you got to the lobby scene you saw lights behind the elevator and I thought that was a room! The pre-release map is way better. I get it that it can be very demanding on hardware but STILLLLLL
@@krbyfan.mmr._. He's talking about the left Side with the Tubes at the top the one in ruin is the right Side which is in the Basegame and Had a similar closet to ruin
I'm hoping maybe in the future they can put it in. I'm guessing they took it out so that the game could load in some areas without leaving other areas visibly unloaded without breaking the game. Maybe with some time, they can get that to work because i really don't like the elevators, they extend the playtime and are just boring and repetitive.
So what I want to know is that is the ruin dlc gonna forever change the layout of the pizzaplex like it being destroyed and stuff and everything collapsed and I assume most of the pizza plex is gonna be sealed off because if not then steel wool will have to remodel the whole building. ORRRRR will there be an option in the selection screen where we can change from ruined Pizzaplex to normal And I want the debug menu to actually be a thing and not just an add on but something that you unlock when you beat the game or something just as an extra mode
Great news the fazcade hall the monty golf hall the nightmode the roxy raceway entrance and the utility tunnels and airlocks will come back in the mod nightplex its on gamebanana
The elevators are necessary for the performance of the game Since they are two very large areas that would be loaded and with the sw door they would be loading and freezing causing a loss of FPS
To be honest, I don't think Steel Wool removed the hallways showcased because they wanted to scrap a lot of things, they needed a way to load areas more properly and not have people running through a completely unloaded area (say they have a terrible PC and they ride the lag spike straight through the void). I doubt much of what's shown will come back for the Ruin DLC, because they would have to completely overhaul the base game's map layout too. Probably safer to not tamper with the main game too much, as things are still a little broken in some places. I would personally prefer the current map in the DLC. And the party pass bot guarding an entire doorway for Monty Golf doesn't make a whole lot of sense, however it does for an elevator. And you feel lag spikes a lot harder running through big corridors rather than elevators, tbh AstralSpiff covered it better in his video, where he went over the early build of the game
Yes most of this was cut because of performance issues. There are things Steel Wool might still be able to do to bring this all back though, it's not impossible. Upgrading to UE5 for example would give them access to the new rendering/LOD system called Nanite which would make loading larger amounts of the building, no problem at all. We just have to wait and see what they do with all this in the future.
@@petrichor1987 they would have to overhaul the base game and the DLC both though, which means more potential bugs/glitches/exploits. And upgrading the lighting system would do 2 things. 1, it would make it a potentially worse experience for console players, 2, make the system requirements go higher for PC. I'd just rather them keep the current map how it is, because it has a decent linear path already. It would be terrible if we could enter the atrium without having to upgrade the Admission Pass, without having to do the Daycare section, etc.
@@noahthespike yeah of course, it would require a lot of work on their end and I don’t think they’ll make any major changes to the current game. But for Ruin it could be a possibility, as upgrading to UE5 would cut loading times and performance struggles in half, that’s where most of the games lag comes from anyway. Steel Wool have an idealised version of the game in their mind clearly based on the way they talk about it and present it. Anything that can get them there without sacrificing performance is something they will most likely consider. Not saying they will 100% but it’s an interesting possibility.
They could add a door for Monty golf. I truly think most of this was cut because they built it all in the early build, slowly realizing while making the game that making all these rooms will not meet deadlines. So they rushed to finish the main part of the game leaving these undeveloped areas.
SB wouldve benefitted using draw distance fog like Silent Hill's fog system as it would help the game peform better and without sacrificing so much of the layout of the pizzaplex
How were you able to walk in that corridor at 13:21 ? If I walk there I can walk a few feet before I fall into the void, Was it because you’re in the prerelease?
In the current version of the map the area deloads if you walk too far past the gate. The Lighttest map however which is where this is recorded doesn't deload the area and so you can explore the corridor.
Hey I’m working on a video on the development of security breach and what could have gone wrong. Im working on Mac and am not able to get footage like this, so do you want to help with it? You would be credited for all footage and your channel would be in the description and comments. It would mostly be shots from this video, but if you would be willing to record some areas again with no lighting it would help a ton. Best case scenario it blows up and we both get a boost and worst case scenario we each find a new UA-cam buddy. What do you say?
Why are you even doing a vid of this game if you don't even have a proper computer. Just get a windows pc already jesus, macs are for nerds and hipsters
If fans didn't demanded to Steel Wool about the game should releases right now, all of unused and contents will still in the final version. Because I mean look at all of this, this is so much better than entering into the elevators and waits for 10 secs which is totally useless
The elevators are for loading, which is completely necessary. Plus, the game like this would run like shit on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and lower end PC’s
I can see the connected areas rather than elevators EASILY working for the main game with one exception. There could be a set trigger in the hallways to things like the west arcade where it will pause to load things. The only exception I see is the entrance straight to the main atrium obviously because there is no big hallway to act as a transition.
It's called "Map_theworld_segmented-lighting" if you're using UUU that should work fine. Another way to access the map would be to install a mod to unlock the extras menus and load the light test from there.
@@DavinFaulkner I would recommend looking up a tutorial online on how to down-patch your games through steam if you have the game there. If you've only got the console version you might be out of luck.
They added the elevators to optimize the game because if the atrium and the main hall were both loaded at the same it would cause alot of lag and its the same reason for other areas like fazcade
Something I don’t understand about GatorGulf in the main game is that there is NO GULF, I do like the beautiful plants in there but I don’t understand why in the main game they didn’t put gulf in *GatorGulf*

I actually do prefer this version of the Pizzalplex compared to the final in game one, but I think it would've been cool if steel wool combined both versions into one for better ganesplay experience in my opinion
@TNC73 The game feels so unfinished. I feel like the reason why so many backstage and utility tunnels areas are not there because Security Breach was most likely rushed due to the fact that the fans wanted Steel Wool to release the game cause they couldn't wait and maybe if Security Breach was delayed until 2022 we could've had more of these unused areas.
@@LifeWithProHD no, performance issues were probably the main reason. And it isn't like Steel Wool could've just delayed it, or stopped releasing any teaser. I actually don't think there were any teasers before Security Breach that were massive enough to rush a game. That trailer revealed a date, they couldn't not have done that.
Are you familiar with CuppaTea.exe's Security Breach Minecraft map? He didn't build the cut areas, but I want to! It would be our chance to explore the Security Breach we could have gotten. I just need help accessing these cut areas myself 😅

The Entrances to Monty Golf and Roxy Raceway were apparently changed or altered for one reason or another, but nothing had been touched upon bout the entrance to Fazer Blast. Is it the same in the Pre-Release Map as it is in the Final Release?
@@solomon0568 Not much is different regarding the Fazerblast entrance from pre-release to release. The main entrance, like most, didn't originally have an elevator, instead you would just walk right into the lobby, there's no long cut hallway like the Monty Golf or Roxy Raceway entrances. The elevator either replaces a roler-door or some custom archway. Hope that answers your question :)

I dont think so beacuse why monty golf had door but changed to elevator and the dj music man thing had hallway but changed to elevator and monty golf’s entry was never shown
I genuinely wonder why the changes were made, the elevators make sense for loading purposes but everything else doesn’t, why so made unused utilitie tunnels? Why were the mini games all together?
Would’ve loved to see this is were we would find something thing a dance pass in the backstage, or during 6am, we would go here to see if there’s an exit or hint to disconnecting GlitchTrap control in Vanessa or hint to afton, while DJMM is hunting you. Yeah there are no tubes but would’ve been nice is he just destroyed everything in there, having a time limit too see what you can find before you caught or killed.
I like this design more. I would have loved it being like this instead of just elevators. I see why they scraped it due to performance however. Imagine the frame rate with all of this + all of those bugs that were on release lol it would've been horrible. Looking into how much scraped content was in security breach it makes me sad about what the game could have been. It could've been so much better than what we got
to be fair we already know why all the elevators are there. Even if the game was properly optimized it would be extremely difficult to downright impossible to load so much of the game at once on lower end hardware such as consoles. Of course, it’s either make the game more accessible to a wider audience so that more revenue is made off it, or make it look better so the people who do get it enjoy it more. So unfortunately, a big company like steel wool is obviously gonna choose the more money option. Though I still think they should have waited a bit longer to optimize the game/story elements, if they weren’t pushed by the publishers
Can someone please tell me the name of the music that starts playing at 1:21 please? Been looking for it and I can’t find it. Btw nice showcase! I really prefer this version of the map over the release version.
So was all of this was originally in the main game but they were unused so there was no way to get there and they should’ve made the entrance like Monty golf because it would be faster for people (people inside the game) to get to a place and another because the elevators take long I know it’s for loading but is it very useful if it was in real life?
Maybe in ruin the building burns down and the elevators aren’t safe to use because of that they replaced it with garage doors like the old version?(my opinion) And the hallways would be much cooler because it keeps the originality of the game and the design of the places you are gonna enter, you could hide from the animatronics in there too!But i guess the game would be programed to have the animatronics search so never mind.
@@petrichor1987 thank you so much I was really confused because the songs melody is very similar to scorched cranberries special so I looked through the help wanted 2 and security breach soundtrack like 3 times

Then you’ll want to download a mod to unlock the extras menu from gamebanana or nexus mods. There tutorials on how to do these things online. If your playing on console though sadly it won’t be possible. Hope this helps :)

Yep, this is One reason why i dislike Steel wool and how they handled SB. Seriously, some parts of pre-release work better than the 'final' release. I have No doubt that it was because of what Matpat said; they didn't want theorists to be right. The delays were waaay to convenient when a game theory came out and then a delay happened not long after. =.= I swear if they do that again with the DLC, imma share words with them about that. Either way, thanks for showing us this. Shame SB couldn't be what this had that Did work.
I understand the idea of this being what happened but I can assure you with 100% confidence that isn't why SB released in the state it did. It's impossible that the changes that were made were because MatPat was close. Take this info as a relief, security breach released in a poor state because the vision for the game was bigger than they could handle in the time they gave themselves it wasn't because of MatPat I promise you.
@@petrichor1987 I wouldn't put it past them that they don't want people to truly understand fnaf. Like this is the hardest game to solve by far. But I don't think it was the fact the game was too big for them. They decided to make a huge game, realized they wanted the game out ASAP, and then just threw stuff away as they kept going. Survival mode, the little games, map features, all of it would cause issues. They probably pulled an Anthem, but instead of spending too much planning, spending too much time building an impressively sized world. And so they rushed with what they needed to make a game.
Most stuff was deleted due to technical limitations with the loading system. Other areas were canned simply because they weren't finished. I have no doubt, if Steel Wool could've gotten all these maps in smoothly, they would have in a heartbeat. I hold some hope we'll see many of these maps return in the DLC though.
I'm seeing comments that parts of the map were cut and replaced with elevators because the map would have been too resource intensive. But, I've played GTA: San Andreas on the PS2 and GTA V on my gaming laptop that's not even the best yet I never had any problems with the maps loading (well, except for me flying into trees that didn't fully render in when I flew planes and jets in San Andreas, lol) and I'm pretty sure they are far bigger than Security Breach's. In San Andreas' case, it's even more impressive considering we had loading screens when traveling between islands in its predecessors, 3 and Vice City, and their maps were far smaller. No loading between states/islands in San Andreas though. Anybody know what else could be at play here?

I believe the reason why most of these areas were scrapped was because they weren't necessarily needed for the main story mode. Had they wanted to push to release survival mode, those areas would be an integral part to getting around the massive pizzaplex.
So you're saying all the unused hallways my have been for the (SCRAPPED) survival mode?
@@ashertheking5023 That's what am thinking. They would have allowed for easy access to many areas of the pizzaplex.
@@ForsakenBonnie like the hallways at 0:35, 1:23 and 10:04?

Oh.
The kitchen at 13:56 looks like the same one in the Ruin DLC. It’s nice to see them use some of the unused layouts for the DLC
I actually now have some hope that some of these areas might return in possible future updates, now after the most recent patch, for 2 reasons:
1. If they planned on having these areas before, or were even able to implement them before, surely they can do it again (i'm assuming they restarted development at some point, it seems most likely)
2. The most recent patch introduced in a system where if the game hasn't fully loaded in an area yet that the player has arrived at, the game will freeze to load it in. So if before, they were having issues with these areas being loaded in, they could maybe now use this new system to their advantage
Good point
They said they wouldn’t be adding anything else to focus on DLC.
@@Spytagen They said there would be future updates still, but not ones as major as previous ones. And i know they said they won't be as major, but still, I have hopes..
@@anorak3334 I think completely redoing the loading system and changing the layout of map is a bigger change than F O G
@@Spytagen 1. Nowhere did I say they change the loading system, I literally just said use the newly implemented loading system to possibly add in new areas
Maybe we will get chances to see some of them at the dlc if we upgrade security pass and be able to open doors level 9 and 10
The elevators only needed for the game's loading mechanism. If the were no elevators the game would consume too much memory for loading in the entire Pizza plex
then just load in the parts of the Pizzaplex you're currently in, and load rooms next to the room you're in but in lower quality
@@ender01o66 hmm, I don't know. It is depending on the size of the rooms. Elevators are a clever way to solve this problem. Also, those long hallways (at least most of them) do the same thing
@@GamrokFeddy still though, I wonder if you could mod the old layout into the actual current game so you could play with it instead
@@ender01o66 It might be possible. But it is not easy
To mask zone transitions they could have easily added two sets of those giant self-opening rectangular garage gates that are everywhere in the pizzaplex anyway. Open one gate, it closes as the next one slowly opens to load the next area. Much more natural feeling than the elevators.
Let me know your thoughts
I hope we get to see the original larger version of the utilidor where Monty starts chasing you at the beginning of the game before it was changed in the final version from the 2nd trailer and from one of the screenshots from Dawko's 24 hour livestream back in March of 2021

it is very sad that they have cut all that, it does not give me hope because the corridor that connected the chip with mazercise was eliminated
This is really fascinating. I'm hoping in the ruin DLC we will get to explore many of these unused areas especially the utility tunnels.

100% agree
Also in one of the trailers released for SB, it appears there is no orange net in the daycare.
true. Good spot!
I really wish they added in those unused kitchens and bars in the food court instead of just having 2 open.
I KNEW all those elevators felt unnatural
So what I want to know is that is the ruin dlc gonna forever change the layout of the pizzaplex like it being destroyed and stuff and everything collapsed and I assume most of the pizza plex is gonna be sealed off because if not then steel wool will have to remodel the whole building. ORRRRR will there be an option in the selection screen where we can change from ruined Pizzaplex to normal
And I want the debug menu to actually be a thing and not just an add on but something that you unlock when you beat the game or something just as an extra mode
The lighting looks so much better before the release i really like how its darker
con you make another video like these? of the day 1 build they found a old daycare office
Cause only the devs hold ALL of the unused content while we only hold the bits that were left in the released game
Great news the fazcade hall the monty golf hall the nightmode the roxy raceway entrance and the utility tunnels and airlocks will come back in the mod nightplex its on gamebanana
Also the balcony that can be accesed by a hall but unfortunaly not the backstage
And you feel lag spikes a lot harder running through big corridors rather than elevators, tbh
AstralSpiff covered it better in his video, where he went over the early build of the game
@@noahthespike Security Breach and bugs love each other more than Bethesda does.
They could add a door for Monty golf. I truly think most of this was cut because they built it all in the early build, slowly realizing while making the game that making all these rooms will not meet deadlines. So they rushed to finish the main part of the game leaving these undeveloped areas.
SB wouldve benefitted using draw distance fog like Silent Hill's fog system as it would help the game peform better and without sacrificing so much of the layout of the pizzaplex
that's a good point. Security Breach does have fog now but it's not what you're describing here.

I liked the atrium entrance without the elevator and the security pass 1 didnt need to use

Considering the final is almost this but missing a lot of tunnels and rooms, basically add the rooms and hallways and it would be perfect
No differences. Security Breach is quite light on gameplay as it stands currently. I imagine Ruin will have a lot more to show for gameplay.
im pretty sure they always intended to have elevators but this was an old version and was probably used for teasers only so there is no need for elevators

Nope not quite. It looks similar but it’s on the other side of the building
I believe in 2024 this was in fact updated on the PC versions. (About 10ish hours ago as of now)
I like this design more.
I wish security breach wasn't rushed so we could have this
to be fair we already know why all the elevators are there.
