Hello! Yes, you can add it easily to the BASE lining element, before attaching it to the main element (when you sew it together with the zipper). :)
Can we use vinyl for this type of bag or is it only workable with cotton fabrics.
Sure, vinyl can be used as well. Just make sure it’s not too thick and your machine can stitch through 2-3 layers of this fabric easily. Enjoy!

How long are the two short pieces of cotton tape that you put on the ends of the zipper? I think I made the handles too long because I used the total suggested length on those.

What type of binding do you use?
Hi! I usually use cotton Herringbone Twill Tape (width 18 mm). In this tutorial I used the polyester version :) but the cotton goes better with bags in my opinion.

The fabric is 270g/m2 cotton, I source the straps locally - I buy them in the fabric store in my town.

Which fabric
I used 100% raw cotton (unbleached) around 270g/m2.
I bought the pattern but it does not say the strips seizes. Advise please ?
Do you mean the straps? That is the first thing on the "what you will need" section. Cotton Flat Rope. It's called cotton webbing at sewing stores.
@@Joshiyotisoh I see it. I am using fabric to make this tote and thought the measurements were in the pattern but I figured out how to make it. Thank you for responding anyways. The pattern is very easy to follow. I’m pleased !
I wish TYTKA would reply, I used the full length on the handle straps forgetting that I would need some length for the ends of the zippers. Ugh. I watched the video ahead of time but it doesn’t say how long to make them so I didn’t notice until it was too late.

Hello Kacey! There is a link in the description where you can but the pattern. It can be printed either at home (A4 or US letter format) or at the printshop (A0). In case you print it at home, the margin on each page needs to be cut off and the pages taped together. You will find a numbers and arrows on each page. It will help you to position all the pages correctly :)
