I would say from vids and stuff asians living abroad tends to have 2 ways to go one you live like a normal citizen of that country and fades your background and another you are expected more, cause you’re asian and also a minority, so it was important for them to bring the family name up and dissolve the look downs from ppl who think of them as poor hopeless immigrants. Some Asian Americans I believe are even more pressured than normal Asians in asian countries bc of that reason.😭

I have two older brothers, one is 9 years older and the other one is 11 years older. When I was younger I know they loved me to pieces, but back then at least it didn't feel like we were that close. At around 12, 13 though, they became my absolute rocks during some difficult family issues, and now at 19, I consider them my best friends. Its always interesting for me to look at it from the older siblings perspective, because I realise now there is so much weight on them to protect their younger siblings. Almost like an extra parent at times. And trust me, coming from the youngest, we treasure you guys and the roles you play in our lives so much.

My brother is 12 years older than me and half the time it feels like I have second parent but a chiller version lol I'm a lot older now, 23 to be exact, and I barely get to see him since he moved out. I don't know. It's just difficult to relate to others because of this.

My brother was 6 years older so we weren’t close but as a family all together we were because we’ve been through lots of bs but he recently passed away a month ago and i wish we would’ve been closer and talked even more.
