Finally a good video for those of us just getting back into fitness after a long illness. I kept injuring myself trying traditional style workouts. This looks more like physical therapy.
Yes, this is a mix of strength training and physical therapy. These bands work out the muscles differently, more gently than the big machines at the gym. I will try not to do too many exercises at first.
I got hurt several times with the big machines at the gym. I have seen strong women use them, but I am not one of those I guess, lol. Pulled muscles are not much fun. I think you have to really know exactly how to do these exercises with the machines and not overload the weights. These stretch band exercises are safer for women.
I know this comment is three years old but hard agree! I have been looking for workouts that are good for people with spine problems and this felt so amazing! As in the burn and pain all felt like the "right" kind of burn and pain 😂
I’m an ambulant wheelchair user and these exercises are just what I have been looking for. Because I have to pace myself, I do 1 set of each breakfast, lunch and dinner and I am starting to feel a difference. The only thing I would say I would personally want is an alternative to the star jumps.

I came right to the comments as soon as she started randomly blowing air. I’m surprised I’m the only one mentioning this. Why are her exhales so exaggerated?! Especially for such low impact workouts! At least in the beginning. It actually makes me not wanna do this video because It’s driving me nuts. I’ve watched endless exercise videos and never have I seen anyone blow air out like she does lol
Yeah, mine rolls up and rips out my tiny microscopic leg hairs. But, if I work at it and relieve the resistance I can get it unrolled when I pause the video. :D

Absolutely thrilled to see her explain first. I normally watch a workout video first instead of stumbling through. So when she spend the first part of each circuit going through the correct form for each set it was so helpful. I didnt mind pausing and rewinding if necessary it timed right with the breaks

73 yrs . Only did the circuitc1 time to start. Haven't excersise for awhile so getting back into it without to much pain. Will increase every 2 days. Good workout
I liked this workout but your breathing is backwards. My husband is a neuromuscular scientist who works in how the brain and body are coordinated. Anytime you are using back muscles (and your quadriceps are actually back muscles), you should breathe in. So opening your arms and tightening your lats breath in, pulling down in front breath out. There are some complex movements that the breathings a bit different but closing body breathe out, opening body breathe in. Loved the workout

Great workout. I am quarantined and missing my GYM workouts but this is a great resistance workout. I am a young 73 and work out consistently in addition to being a yogini and yoga instructor
Exercises are effective but 10 min is a bit of a misnomer. If you do 3 sets of the workouts with 10 reps of each as recommended, the duration is a bit more like this: Upper body set 1 + jumping jacks - 3 min Break - 1 min Upper body set 2 + jumping jacks - 3 min Break - 1 min Upper body set 3 + jumping jacks - 3 min Break - 1 min Lower body set 1 - 2.5 min Break - 1 min Lower body set 2 - 2.5 min Break - 1 min Lower body set 3 - 2.5 min Break - 1 min Total - 22.5min (And this doesn't include a warm up and cool down which might add 10 mins on top of this) In total this is really more of a 30 min workout if you do it properly.
I thought yellow had the lowest resistance? That’s what the chart that came with my band set says… I use yellow on my weak arms to build up strength. Love these exercises!

Lisa's Leven both, use a lighter band on the shoulder exercises, you can use a heavier band on the legs.

When I do the sit to stand my band rolls up is it still effective if that happens?
Yes , if you feel anyway that the muscle is burning it means that you are doing good anyway

I'm quite overweight and a fitness beginner, and finding gentle, manageable resistance workouts truly for novices isn't easy. This one was perfect.
I just got some resistance bands from amazon to work out during lockdown. My boyfriend also likes using them :)
